Do I get a Masked Intruder tattoo tonight?

Recommended Posts

The one on the right was done by me, someone who has only done say 5 or 6 tattoos. When you have as many tattoos as me and my buddys its less about how great new ones are but more the memory or just having your friends tattoo you. I have a few "crappy" tattoos that are done by people i love who have never done a tattoo and they are some of my favorites compared to the rest of my really good tattoos.

Im sure you'll have some sort of negative response to that too, as you always seem to. You know you're kind of a douche, right?

Think whatever you want about me. I don't believe "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all" applies to VC. Everyone should just be honest. If it upsets you to have someone critique your tattoo work then I would suggest keeping the pictures to yourself.

And I didn't mean to pick an argument. It's cool you feel sentimental about the tattoo. Good for you. I'll keep my comments on any future pictures that you post to myself.

Once you have more than 2 tattoos I think meaning and significance are pretty much done for. Tattoo meanings are like bad beat stories in poker, everyone has one and nobody else gives a shit.

I agree with your opinion 99% of the time but my really good friend lost a bad beat jackpot at the casino because a queen on the board played over his jack kicker. I think he had quads and lost. It would have been a payday over $10k.

That is a bad beat story that I actually care about even though it didn't happen to me. Not saying you will, though.

Its not that bad.

Ex friend of mine got some work done on the side of his torso, and nearly blacked out from it. I'm just going by anecdotal information. I'm a fucking baby when it comes to shit like this. But this is something I want badly, and I've put a lot of thought into it. So eventually it'll be done.

I thought you were fucking with him at first, but then you pulled it back in.

Im not hurt at all, im aware its a crappy tattoo, im not a tattooer. You were just missing the point.

You just always seem to have something negative in every thread you post in.

I have my ribs done, and yes getting them tattooed is not fun, but really they aren't that bad (for as many tattoos as i have, i do not like getting tattooed one bit). If you drink i recommend you have some drinks to dull the pain. And im sure no self respecting artist is going to tattoo someone who is put under.  There is a general rule of thumb in the tattoo community that you have to "earn" your tattoo so to speak and going through the pain is just part of it.

I love the statement, "for as many tattoos as I have, I do not like getting tattooed one bit".  I fucking hate getting tattooed, but if it didn't suck so goddamn much, everyone would be completely sleeved out.  The two artists who do my work also hate being tattooed as well, so they don't talk shit when I flinch.

As far as band tattoos, do whatever the fuck you want, just be prepared for people to talk shit.  If you dig it, you dig it.  I have band references tattooed on me

- '59 behind my right ear for Gaslight Anthem

- TBC on my right wrist for Saves the Day (Through Being Cool)

- Butterfly on my chest for Jimmy Eat World ("can you still feel the butterflies")

- Crimson ghost in my left underarm for the Misfits

These bands have meant the world to me, and definitely mean more to me than the traditional skulls and eyes I also have tattooed on me, therefore I have no shame in the tattoos I have.

As far as band tattoos go i have

Milo, Op Ivy, FYP, a Movielife Self Destruct reference and Worship & Tribute on the tops of my wrists.

How often does the ear one get noticed? Just wondering.

It gets noticed pretty often actually, a lot more than I anticipated.

Have fun with that, a couple of my buddies have their toes done. The were not happy campers. My feet were bad enough.

Once I got my junk tattooed I lost all fear of being tattooed anywhere else

Well that's to be expected, my buddy (Nick Rodin) tattooed his own junk which says "my cock loves your pussy" might be one of my favorite tattooes ive ever heard of. Thats what i expected after my armpit but low and beyond, there was worse spots.

My ear ones don't get noticed that much (or at least not commented on) but that's probably do to my giant throat tattoo right below them.

I feel like it might not be a bad conversation starter. Like when you are standing at a crowded bar trying to get service maybe a chick notices it and starts talking to you. Kinda like she just found Waldo.

Then again, she might have to be an Amazon to see it. I don't know. Just thinking out loud.

I might steal your idea and just go with "45" to change it up a little. Gaslight is far and away my number 1.

Go for it!  It's definitely a conversation starter, lots of people have asked me what the '59 means.  I try to think of funny b.s. stories as to what it could mean.

That rules so hard.
