corbet
As a user of many different forums, I can say one thing: I applaud the users of VC - you're one of the most intelligent members of all of the forums I visit. If there's one thing I have against this forum it's the horrible software being used: ProBoards is freeware garbage. I highly recommend a redesign with more respectable software like vBulletin or PHPbb. As it stands, karma is a stupid popularity contest, people can be easily impersonated, and I believe you can't have "private" forums, which I think is required for Cooperative Label. magalvsr13
you can have private forums on proboards
corbet
My opinion still stands and I have no idea how people don't agree with me. Is this the only forum you all visit?
qskapunk
what's a forum?
AlexH.
Suits me. I use boards that use PHPbb, and it's not all that much better.

corbet
One other issue with the forums is the fact the quote system sucks. Quote of a Quote of a Quote of a Quote?
mrc
this is really the only board i post on so i dont know the differences. seems ok to me
qskapunk
it would be nice to get email notifications when someone replies to your thread (particularly sale threads) but other than i enjoy this forum
xfedaykinx
of all the forums i visit, the former Southern Lord boards are the best. currently found at www.foreverdoomed.com
xlynwoodx
The only thing that bothers me is that I wish the links at the top of the page (Message Board :: General :: Everything Else Message Board :: The forums need to be remade.) were also at the bottom of the page so I don't have to scroll up every time I want to return. corbet
The best designed forum to me is: http://forums.somethingawful.com/
Guest scriptedrain
That looks too cluttered to me.
corbet
That looks too cluttered to me. The ads are all removed when you register ($$) to the forums. I think the cluttering you see is the fact that there are literally dozens of different forum sections, which we really wouldn't have. xfedaykinx
the best part of the Doom Forever, Forever Doomed forums is that there are tab selections to view all of the most recent posts, as well as a tab to view all of the threads you have posted in, thus minimizing the need to look through all of the different forums and threads to look for new threads
mediocore
I liked phpBB the best, but this one works fine too. Whatever.

muskawo
The best designed forum to me is:http://forums.somethingawful.com/ They go down a lot though, and a lot of features dont work sometimes. Plus its a paid service, you'd want it to be better. I've had an account there for years, I dont use it much anymore though, its a bit overwhelming sometimes. But yeah, it beats a lot of stuff out there.
borf
Sure this place is easy to get around and work, but it doesnt have much soul as a site... pretty plain looking. I think it could use a little upgrade at least make a banner or something

sgoodcore
phpBB can be a pain in the arse to admin, depending on your tech acumen. i think these work quite well to be honest. I'd rather over-simplified than over-complicated.
