jlobban
yeah unless both images were part of a photographer's series or something, that's pretty fucking ridiculous. they even used the same colors of paint.
zacaroo21
yeah unless both images were part of a photographer's series or something, that's pretty fucking ridiculous. they even used the same colors of paint. I wouldn't bet, just based on the lighting in both being so different. But it could be...

zacaroo21
Sunbather was not the first album to use that typography style...but they did have a cool font There are countless albums using that large block style
Derek™
But how many feature a 3 x 3 block in the vein of Didot, released in 2013?
zacaroo21
http://zooanimal.bandcamp.com/ All of zoo animal's releases since 08... 3x3 is the most common honestly.
zacaroo21
I mean, if an album came out now with the 3x3 text with a solid pastel background...by all means say they copied sunbather.

Get your facts straight. The original art was actually manipulated by Bannon. It's the Phases of the Moon: http://aa.usno.navy.mil/faq/docs/moon_phases.php Bannon said that he took that original pic and applied the Converge shield/badge to them for the AWLWLB artwork. Derek™
Get your facts straight. Wait, wait, wait. Are you implying that Bannon didn't come up with the documentation of lunar eclipses, just last year? sonsofvipers
amnstypls
Wait, wait, wait. Are you implying that Bannon didn't come up with the documentation of lunar eclipses, just last year? I think that's exactly what he's implying.
Derek™
http://zooanimal.bandcamp.com/ All of zoo animal's releases since 08... 3x3 is the most common honestly. It's the 3 x 3 variation of the Didot font, that I was getting at. I agree that 3 x 3 text blocks aren't exclusive to Deafheaven. And more notably, that 3 x 3 Didot art was released after the cover of Sunbather was plastered all over Pitchfork and various media outlets.
