Advice on a receiver/integrated amp

Recommended Posts

I have 250 bones to spend on a new receiver or integrated amp. Needs to power my Technics SL-1200 mk2 and a tape deck as well (haven't found one, but I'm looking at a cheap Onkyo on eBay). Will probably get new speakers as well, but my crummy receiver is definitely the weakest link. My speakers aren't the greatest, but I want to replace this first.

Thanks!

I'll have to check that one out too, then.

I stumbled upon the Harman Kardon HK 3390 receiver yesterday. Around $215 from the marketplace. I searched around the boards for input on it, and only found positive posts.

Someone else might be able to chime in a little better than I can though.

I think that people generally opt for the 3490 over the 3390.  May want to read up on some of the reliability issues that these may have.  I read quite a few comments indicating that the amp went belly up after 6 months or so.
