  5. I am sure this isn't for everyone.. but in April I went to Japan for vacation and couldn't believe how amazing the record shopping was there. I came home with so many amazing records I just never ever see in the states (original pressings of Beck, Sublime, Bjork, a gang of four test pressing, Mineral - Power of Failing, the Anniversary, Jawbreaker, etc...) Anyway, I traveled with a good friend of mine who wasn't a record collector so I spent some of my time shopping but the other bit of time I spent doing tourist-y shit..but truth be told I couldn't help what it might be like to do this trip with fellow record nerds.. so. I was thinking about going back NEXT october (not this one..) this way people can save up and all.. I thought of some cool ideas about sharing want lists and doing a lot of research in the meantime. anyway, I know some of you might not be interested or can't afford but thought it might be a fun idea to talk about .. is anyone interested?

  7. The acetate was made-to-order in the same year, 1975, for a number of private collectors. From my knowledge about Japanese acetates made privately in 70s (there are few such acetate with Pink Floyd performances in existence), I can safely assume that no more than 5-10 were made in the first place, with quite possible this copy being the only one left in existence. Send me a message if interested.
  8. Was wondering if any of you lovely folks happened to own and be willing to part with the soundtrack to My Neighbor Totoro. Either http://www.discogs.com/Joe-Hisaishi-My-Neighbor-Totoro/release/5602276 or http://www.discogs.com/Joe-Hisaishi-My-Neighbor-Totoro/release/3651759 Thanks!
  9. Japanese records

Anybody here own any Japanese records? Both japanese music and japanese pressings of other music welcome here. I am however always on the lookout for some of the rarer stuff from the very end of the vinyl era in the 80s such as X-Japan and Poison Arts. I also have a fair amount of US and British music pressed in Japan: Jefferson Airplane- Crown of Creation (1989 MFSL Japanese Pressing) Led Zeppelin- II (1992 AMJY Japanese Pressing) Led Zeppelin- IV (1981 Pioneer/Warner Japanese Pressing) Led Zeppelin- Houses of the Holy (1976 Pioneer/Warner Japanese Pressing) Led Zeppelin- Physical Graffiti (1992 AMJY Japanese Pressing) Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon (1979 MFSL Japanese Pressing) Anyone got some cool stuff to share?
  10. Hey guys, is there anyone who is near/going to be near/know anyone/etc. in Japan that goes to Big Love Records? They have a couple things I really want, but I don't know if it's just the prices online, but it's really fuckin expensive. 2 Records and a sweatshirt for $132 to California. Just wondering if anyone can help me out, and pick stuff up for me there and then mail it separately at cost.
  11. Hey VC folks, I'm leaving for Tokyo Wednesday morning and I was wondering if anyone on here has ever visited (or even lived there)? If so, any cool shit I should try and check out? Travel tips? Things to avoid? My friends and I have a real loose list of things we want to do. Studio Ghibli tour, Tokyo Pub Crawl and sumo wrestling are the three that I can think of off the top of my head. I can't remember specifically where we're staying, somewhere in Central Tokyo. Also, we're going to be in Kyoto and Osaka for a night. Cool stuff to do there would be appreciated to. Anyway, thanks in advance!
  12. Buyer backed out on last auction, so it's back up for sale. There is no reserve price http://www.ebay.com/itm/251498612860?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
  13. Hey all, I'll be travelling to Japan with my wife in July (from 7th to 27th). Mostly we will be staying in Kyoto, and about a week in Tokyo. We are also taking trips by train to some other places for a day or stay over night. We've been in Japan (Kyoto, Tokyo, Hiroshima) few years back so we have seen the 'obvious' places and attractions. This time we would like to more just hang out and relax. We already have some plans (ryokan, onsen, Kyoto monkey mountain, Ghibli museum etc.) but it would be nice see if you guys have any ideas! So, if here's anyone who could give us any hints for nice things to see and do, it would be appreciated. Also, hints for nice record stores (used & new vinyl) are more than welcome (for me, not so much my wife's cup of tea)! And if there are any good gigs happening at that time, we are interested (or a good site to check them out). Thanks!

  17. FS? - Envy (various)

bought these a bit ago, didn't play them after awhile. lent them to a buddy and he just returned them. he returned them unsatisfactory in my eyes. conditions are as follows: slight ring wear on these...decent ring wear on 'a dead sinking story'. if youre a perfectionist on jackets, these arent for you. see pics. all the footprints...surface could use a cleaning. lets just say he 'tried' to clean it. i dont even know what to do with these. i dont want them but they still play fine. so f'n pissed. --------- a dead sinking ship - 2xLP - black abyssal - black all the footprints you've ever left and the fear expecting ahead - black
