LIMITED EDITION 180-Gram audiophile 15-LP numbered vinyl box set with exclusive extras in a Georgia-style solid wood peach crate.  All nine albums have been newly remastered by Kevin Reeves [Idlewild South 45th Anniversary (2015), The 1971 Fillmore East Recordings (2014)] from the original analog stereo master tapes to 192kHz 24-bit and cut by Abbey Road Mastering Studios onto copper plates using their DMM (Direct Metal Mastering) lathe for superior audio fidelity.

The Allman Brothers Band vinyl box set collects six of their studio albums and three live albums from 1969-1979 into one comprehensive collection including their self-titled debut expanded to 2LPs; Idlewild South (1LP); At Fillmore East (2LP); Eat A Peach (2LP); Brothers and Sisters (1LP); Win, Lose or Draw (1LP); Wipe The Windows, Check The Oil, Dollar Gas (2LP), Enlightened Rogues (1LP), and the vinyl debut of Live at Ludlow Garage: 1970 (3LP).  The expanded self-titled 2LP set will feature for the first time in one package the original 1969 stereo mix as well as the 1973 Beginnings stereo mix. Live at Ludlow Garage: 1970 will feature the complete concert including the performance of “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed” which made its debut on the 2015 45th anniversary Super Deluxe of Idlewild South.  All nine LP packages feature faithfully replicated original album artwork.

The box set boasts a bevy of exclusive collectable extras, including a half-stack amplifier-shaped 8gb USB stick with all nine remastered albums as downloadable 44.1kHz 16-bit uncompressed AIFF audio files; four double-sided posters of key art or photos from the albums; nine magnets featuring each album’s cover art; nine guitar picks and buttons with key art or photos from each album; a custom deck of Allman Brothers Band playing cards; a trucker/snapback-style hat; a turntable mat and a microfiber cleaning cloth. The peach crate, weighing in at approximately 26 pounds fully loaded, measures 15.25” x 13.625” x 13.625,” providing ample room for more vinyl LP storage.

About Direct Metal Mastering (DMM)
Direct Metal Mastering (DMM) is an analogue audio disc mastering technique jointly developed by two German companies, Telefunken-Decca (TelDec) and Georg Neumann GmbH. The audio signal is cut directly to a copper disc whereby the traditional analogue audio disc master cutting process is cut into a lacquer-coated aluminum disc. The key advantage to DMM is the copper master disc can be plated to produce the required number of stampers using a one-step process. Lacquer master discs require electroforming a master (“father”), “mother,” and then stampers, in what is known as the traditional “three-step process.” The DMM copper disc serves as the “mother,” which bypasses the silvering process and two electroforming stages, thus reducing the risk of introducing noise that can be generated in the traditional lacquer master process. The advantage of DMM over acetate lacquers are both sonic and practical because of the rigidity of the master disc medium and no groove wall bounce-back effects after cutting, all of which preserves the original modulation details in the groove walls, offering a better high end frequency playback and quieter surface noises.

This would be cool if it was 200 dollars less and all these records arent easily purchasable for ten dollars or less already.

If it were a band that I liked, and had those exact same products, I'd be hyped. The USB of uncompressed files and all the other extras sound really sick, but I don't like the Allman Brothers.

This is a mega-bloated release that probably getting the prioritized treatment from the plants and gumming up the production of other new music. I'm sure most of these records are available from previous pressings in used shops and I bet they sound a hell of o a lot better and organic than this new press will.

I wish that was the case right now. I would love to buy this for my dad for Father's Day. Then I'll ask him to borrow it and never give it back.

If Ludlow gets a standalone release I'll probably pick it up but yeah I'm not paying $400 for a peach box full of stuff I already bought out of peach boxes.
