tvham
Does anyone have RTS in hand yet? Curious (hoping) if it's a gatefold.

If Chris Bellman cut these, that's great news. Hopefully these pressings don't suffer from the same issues the Beck reissues did.
ok_computer
My store was told they can't sell AAEA until 3/24 even though they have it in. Really regretting not preordering now!
rooks
No movement from SSD. Shame :\
ejeffs
My local shop AAEA and RTS today. Purchased both of them
zdkaiser
By the way, AAEA is not cut at 45rpm. They are 33s. Discogs is wrong. Or I misread the discogs listing. Disappointing! ok_computer

zdkaiser
Sounds pretty good. No inner groove distortion. Little be of sibilance on the vocals, for me.

Disappointing! RTS is a 33 as well. Already sounds much better than this press of AAEA, not that it sounds bad though.
larshj
Got the RTS and AAEA represses - and both are 45rpm. These are the European versions (pressed in The Netherlands). So perhaps the US version is 33rpm and the European is 45rpm.

larshj
Just to add to the confusion: One of the previous posts mentioned that AAEA didn't come with polylined innersleeves - that's not the case with my copy, which came with white polylined sleeves. RTS is with printed innersleeves. And both came with download codes. And both came with a "Back on Black" sticker which states it's 180 gram vinyl. throughbeingcruel
My AAEA didn't come with the Back on Black shrink, didn't come with a download card, but it did come with poly lined paper sleeves. Haven't had the chance to spin it to find out the speed though.
Dusted_By_Space
I got my copies from ssd, no polylined sleeves for August, no bnb shrink, no printed inners on RTS, non 45 rpm cut.
tvham
This is so weird that everyone has slight variations - my copy of RTS from Bullmoose has printed inner sleeves, no sticker or download code.
timsimmons
eh, it's not super weird. Variations between a euro pressing and us pressing happen all the time. What I'm curious about is the sound quality. I found RTS to sound good, Not great. It's not brick walled, but it's loud. I also thought the high end was a bit syballancy. larshj
I think both (on 45 rpm) sound great - except for a few "pops" in Catapult (some cleaning probably will remove these) both sound really quiet/no noise. I think both sound welldefined (no instruments are lost in the mix). Can't compare them to original pressings, but I noticed a song like "Rain King" sound a lot more vibrant in my ears than I'm used to from listening to the CD. timsimmons
If possible, Would you mind posting the deadwax inscriptions for a side? Edited April 1, 2017 by timsimmons

Well this just got weirder cuz I got mine from SSD and my RTS has printed inners and the whole thing is exactly like my original press aside from the inners having 2016 dates on them. Both RTS and AAEA are 33 and sound great though. Edited April 1, 2017 by jrodan

AAEA (side A): 18331 A 00602557097658 RTS (side A): 18330 A 00602257097603 It certainly doesn't correspond with what is noted on Discogs. Btw. I tried cranking both up and as noted earlier they sound very defined (and no surface noise) - perhaps not a loud pressing, but verydefined in my ears. timsimmons
timsimmons
thank you. Yeah, discogs was confusing me.
RSand
I picked up one of the AAEA 2012 45rpm represses which sounds sublime. I have an original pressing of RTS which always sounded like it was mastered a touch too hot, I wouldn't mind listening to the new mastering especially a 45rpm version. As others have said, TDL needs a reissue and HC need to debut on vinyl. Anyone want to buy a hardly used AAEA live on white vinyl
