TOCS has little to zero screamo influence.
DTGL sounds nothing like Norma Jean. Norma Jean were a shitty Botch ripoff at this point in their career.
That 2012 pressing of TOCS is god awful.
Aaaaand did you get your box? IS it not great sounding? Or are you just listening to internet hearsay?
TOCS is the better album in my opinion. DTGL sounded like generic hardcore at the time. You are free to feel differently. Also redeemer is Norma Jeans debatable best album, so, don't agree with that.
I've never heard any complaints about the 2012 press. But mine sounds great. Again, you are welcome to think whatever you want about it.
No I have not listened to the new press. I was responding to this thread where a discussion on it was happening. If it sounds awesome, great.

Yeah, for as much shit as I talk about TOCS, it's coming from a place of familiarity. A lot of it. I think it was probably one of my first screamo / abrasive listens, if you don't count moments of Thrice's earlier stuff. I played the shit out of it in my youth, and I'm with you – it'd be a fun nostalgia listen at best, but DTGL & LITSOS just aged so much better. I haven't even listened to TOCS, digitally, in ages... but I'm sure I'll be hyper-focused on those compressed cymbals the next time I may.
This is interesting! I actually like TOCS a lot more then DLGL. I think its a very unique blend of "screamo"/hardcore and pop music. DLGL to me just sounded like they were trying to sound like norma jean. Its a solid album for sure, but it just doesnt slap me with originality like TOCS does. But I can also see how people would feel the opposite.
Also its a bummer that this pressing is not great sounding, the 2012 pressing of TOCS is one of my best sounding records, it really sounds fantastic imo.

There is no reason I should buy this when I havent listened to it in like 10 years at least.
But, and then the C.H.U.D.S came seems worth it on its own.

Finally picking up Miss Machine and Calculating Infinity.

Don't care which colour, not looking to pay ebay pricing but let me know what you have.

Love nightmare before Christmas, but realistically I'll never spin this. Looks nice though

I got pretty lucky with the original OST, bought it on ebay for 40CAD, and the guy was local. Somehow that listing flew under the radar.
I did get the red RSD picture disk when they found stock though.

Sorry for the useless bump, but nan finally got around to listening to this.... This album is fucking amazing. Def hoping that alfredo vinyl comes back though. Great music and fun vinyl aren't mutually exclusive.

Tron: Legacy.... is there a better example of a shitty movie with an amazing soundtrack
Its not an incredible movie. But I enjoy it for what it is, visually pleasing with a easy story. Similar to a lot of that genre , like Star Wars for example.

Hmm, might be too flashy for me. Kind of prefer the regular LP's minimal logo artwork.
I somewhat agree, I think the slipcase cover and the gatefold look great. Hoping the actual cover does it more justice in person.

This is what Ive always wanted, SUPER excited...
