  1. Yeah, but "hit" is a stretch for a term lol as they hardly got anything in. I struck out on the three things (they didn't get Space Jam or Coheed and were sold out on Star Wars) I wanted and I was about 20th in line. It's walking distance from my apartment and I chose sleep over waiting in line. New to the area too so I didn't know what to expect. But I don't see myself going back there next year.
  2. Probably heading over to TTL on my lunch break. Don't know why I didn't go there this year. Stupid me stayed in Astoria as I figured most Manhattan stores would be packed. But I probably would have had better luck at any other store than the one I went to.
  3. I got it from Amoeba when someone posted that link a few posts above mine. Maybe it was the last one. Cause I couldn't find it again after I put my order in.
  4. Well shit. Struck out on the three records I wanted yesterday cause my store got jack squat. And now I just managed to score Star Wars and Space Jam in a matter of minutes at cost. Maybe I'll get even luckier and score Coheed. But not really too concerned because there's another variant coming
  5. My first glimpse of the cover art was a thumbnail and I thought Kendrick was on the cover of Time magazine for a second.
  6. I wish they would have done more with the cover artwork for Silent Hill. Hopefully the gatefold looks badass.
  7. My copy was noisy. Even after a cleaning. Tons of popping and noise at parts, which is hard to ignore on an Elliott Smith album. And I chalked it up to the fact that it was 18 tracks on a single LP. Sold it because of that.
  8. I don't understand why Bong Load released Figure 8 as a single LP. It didn't sound good. Hopefully these new reissues will sound much better. But they could have done 45RPM for the double LP. Don't understand why they didn't. That being said...fuck these prices.
  9. What the F happened here? My apologies!
  10. Anybody looking for some cash and wanting to part with this? Would love to finally add it to my collection. Always love listening to Neutral Milk Hotel as the weather gets nicer. Don't know why. Nevermind. We good here.
  11. The messed up thing for me is mine was cancelled last night after I mentioned in my request that I was cancelling because I can buy it cheaper elsewhere. It would have been nice for them to say, "Hey wait no you can't" at which point I would have kept my order.
  12. But it's the amount of money they are charging that is cheating. Maybe it's the wrong word. I don't know. They're making a huge profit on this and getting away with it because of high demand, which is disrepectful to fans in my opinion. Last year I bought the Radiohead special edition and it was the same price. However, it was a double LP that came in a bound book with color artwork. To charge $32 for a standard and then throw a booklet and a slip case on it and call it deluxe is fine and all I guess, but to charge $43 for those extras is crazy. I mean it was discussed already when preorders went up. Just still blows my mind and left a bad taste in my mouth. Which sucks because I've enjoyed Waxwork releases these past few years and liked supporting them. That's my two cents on the matter.
  13. It's pretty bold to include I <3 Waxwork Records stickers and assume that people do after they just cheated them out of so much money. I think I'll make up some I <3 $75 stickers. Message me if you want one.
  14. Just got this lovely email from Bull Moose after cancelling my webstore purchase yesterday... EDIT: I see this was posted above, but this is the specifics of the email that I guess is being sent out.
  15. Collectors Hate Him! I mean I did say I was part of the problem in my first sentence. Not denying that.
  16. So I'm a sucker and part of the problem. I am the reason why Newbury Comics gets away with their bullshit. About a week and a half ago I stopped into one on my way home from work. And I found a copy of Newbury's exclusive The Strokes - Room on Fire. $49.99. And of course, I bought it because I was seeking that variant and it was the cheapest I was ever going to find it considering what it goes for on the secondary market. I asked the cashier why it was so marked up, and he said, "I don't know. We're just told to change the prices. But this is a really good price for this pressing." To which I replied, "It's unfair to hike prices of your exclusives just because of how its sales are behaving in the secondary market, but I'm the sucker that's falling for it so whatever." He just laughed. Anyway, I found something amusing when I took the shrink wrap off of the record. All of the price tags were placed on top of one another. Since the beginning of its sale back in 2015, the price had changed 9 times. There were 9 separate tags on the jacket, all on top of one another. I tried to peel them so I could get a picture to show the increase, but basically it went from $26.99 to $49.99 gradually. Usually when something sits on the shelf it goes down in price, right? Hits clearance maybe? So I'm done with Newbury. Will never support them again, and don't have to now that I've moved from rural Massachusetts to NYC. But I guess they got the last laugh. TL;DR I suck.
