I think tony has said before that they had it 4 days last year because Halloween fell on a Thursday and he likes bands playing the fest on the holiday. But yeah, 4 days waa great. Exhausting, but great.

this is probably a basic question but i have an old Fisher Studio Standard MT-911 turntable and have never had problems with it til recently. a couple days ago i noticed that after a few minutes of play the table would stop spinning at the correct speed. I thought the stylus might be dirty so I cleaned it and lubricated it, didnt fix the problem though. just wondering if you think its a problem with the belt or could it be just old age of the setup itself? im not positive how tight the belt is supposed to be, its sort of snug but feels like it could tighter.

Chunksaah Records has been a proud sponsor for a few years, and many of our bands have played many times. I decided that I wanted to do something special to show my gratitude to my boys and all of the people who are passionate about what they do and about sharing it with other like-minded (or sometimes not) people. And I got to thinking about how much fun I was going to have at Fest this year, and started looking at the website and at all of the bands that I love love love that are playing. And then I remembered a conversation that I had with Ty from Broadway Calls (at Tim Barry’s set at 8 secoonds) about him and Chris from the Flatliners doing some kind of solo split sometime. And then I thought about how many of my dudes from bands playing Fest this year probably had a wayward song or an itch to scratch. So I made a couple of calls and sent a couple of mails and ran into some other folks along the way, and we came up with a really nifty compilation. Because I am a total snob, I decided it would be extra cool if it was only available on vinyl (10” of course, because it’s my favorite and because sometimes I do what I want) and only at Fest (Chunksaah flea market table) or from the contributors. So that’s the deal. Here’s what the cover looks like, which includes the track listing.

they were great. it;s Fallon on guitar/vocals, Catherine Popper (Ryan Adams & the Cardinals) on bass, Randy Schrager (Scissor Sisters) on drums, and one other guy on guitar. I'd say they were somewhere between the Gaslight Anthem and Horrible Crows, musically. Not as fast and catchy as TGA but not as mellow as the Crows. Lots of harmonies in the original songs they did. They played probably 5 or 6 originals, a cover of the Stones "Dead Flowers" and ended the set with Roky Erickson's "I Walked with a Zombie." heres a clip of their first song I found, starts around the 1:00 mark. hopefully more/better videos surface eventually

got my order today that I placed on Monday. received all 5 that i ordered and they came in just a regular mailer. pretty impressed with the whole transaction. hope everyone that bought stuff has their order go as smoothly.

i finally got around to picking up You Blew It's lp from them at the Fest in Gainesville last weekend. The merch girl asked if I wanted maroon or black and i said maroon. Later that night I opened it and not only was it a black copy, but it was the /30 "Punk is Dead, I Got a Job" variant they had on tour with them over the summer. Total score.

its realllllllly great, can't wait to get the lp in the mail.
