If you like this then you'll love the actual records, check em out! The Glow Pt. 2 is probably my all time favorite record. -

The original presses are all awesome but the packaging is soooo flimsy and prone to easy wear. Really excited to replace them with these! -
Po: Blink-182 - Take Off Your Pants And Jacket Lp + 3 7"s
Shelby replied to jhulud's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
So it's ok to overprice an already overpriced record. The only fair option originally was the normal weight + 3 7"s for $35. I'll never understand why people like paying 50% more for something that sounds the same but is 40 grams heavier. Edit: I also believe the original 180g package had some foil crap and was the most limited, which still doesn't justify $5 but makes more sense than this SRC version. -

Not pop-punk so no replies. Womp wooooomp -
http://www.pwelverumandsun.com/store Release date: March 5 "This first vinyl appearance of the singles/rarities collection from 2002 kicks of the series of reissues of all 5 Microphones albums we’re putting out throughout 2013. These songs are islands, unrelated to any “real” albums, created between 1997 and 2002, mostly in/of Olympia, Wash., and collected on CD by K. There are some songs that are well known and some songs that are super weird moments in the studio, less well-known. A broad archipelago. This version has been remastered by John Golden and all polished and made sturdy. It includes a new fold out explanatory poster sheet thing, a download card, heavy old-style gatefold jackets, and a foil stamped obi strip. It feels good in the hand. You are invited to purchase one or more." Phil's label puts out some of the nicest packaging I've encountered, not to mention these songs are great. Buy this now.

It's The Long Forgotten Friend by Dreamend. Ryan said each one takes about 35 minutes to assemble, I got one of the last few copies so I was pretty stoked.

Last two packages from Graveface. Best label.

That thing has one of the coolest color schemes I've seen. Charity strip "color changes" haha from red to blue. One side of the cover is red, the other is blue, and the vinyl is red/blue aside bside matching the cover.

Solid track. Their last ep was so damn good.

What's your White Whale record?
Shelby replied to raidenradio's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I had two white whales for the longest before finally catching one. Pavement - Slay Tracks (1933-1969) 1000 pressed in 1990 hand numbered Now just The Microphones - Blood I don't think I'll ever find this one... -
http://donovanwolfingtonmusic.bandcamp.com/ RIYL: Tigers Jaw, No Age, Snowing, Teen Suicide, Pavement "New Orleans based Donovan Wolfington are debuting their first full length record, “Stop Breathing” coming Spring 2013. The record features 32 minutes of angst-filled, nostalgic punk and emo with a dash of 90’s rock spread across 10 blistering new tracks, presenting a sound that is the perfect blend of throwback loyalty and forward thinking ingenuity. Stop Breathing updates and expands upon the sound laid forth on earlier recordings, and reflects the members’ struggles and successes with growing up and leaving home, all while trying to make a rock record they can be proud of." http://brokenworldmedia.bigcartel.com/product/donovan-wolfington-stop-breathing-lp http://communityrecords.org/store/donovan-wolfington/ 300 copies on mixed color vinyl. That RIYL is kinda weird but I can dig it. This is a great record give it a listen.

My original press jacket has 8 songs listed and no barcode. We'll never figure it out
-
He said in an interview that he wasn't looking to change up the artwork too much, but these pressings will be "more permanent" than the others. Basically they'll be tip on jackets etc, everything high quality. His label does some of the highest quality packaging, I'm excited for these. Time to retire my nice and worn 1st pressings.

PO: Dads - "Shit Twins" Lathe Cut 7"
Shelby replied to Zick's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I haven't gotten mine yet, but with the World Is lathe they did I really had to crank the weight of my tone arm up and it actually sounded pretty good. It sounded similar to what you're describing using the regular weight.
