sigh... my midnight & smitten copy's A/B disk was pressed off center so it creates horrible pitch-shifting when listening to Piano Player... that ruined the experience. I emailed Tiny Engines but I'm incredibly saddened. I don't even know if I'll be able to get a replacement since the variant is sold out...

i'm not mad at the label because it's not their fault but i am just incredibly disappointed in my bad luck. this is my most anticipated release of the year and i was really looking forward to hearing it all on vinyl for the first time.

(it's not my record player. I tested other records on it and they work fine. my player's NOT a crosley or AT-LP60, before you ask.)

That stinks! The C/D disk of my black copy of Goodness is off center as well but I haven't noticed it affecting pitch/sound quality.

Hopefully Tiny Engines held a few copies of each variant back from sale in case some people had issues like this and you can get a replacement.

forgive me for bumping this, but i noticed there were still cherry red /150 copies up at merchnow. figured i'd float it out there for those who missed it and are chasing variants. (or maybe this was already widely known... if so, sorry!)

The pressing number on MerchNow is incorrect - the cherry red is actually /1000 (plus another /250 tour variant with an exclusive cover/jacket).

  4. Damien Jurado's second and third albums - Rehearsals for Departure (1999) and Ghost of David (2000) - are being released on vinyl for the first time on 8/5/16! Rehearsals includes probably his most well-known song ("Ohio") while Ghost includes IMO his most sad/depressing song ("Medication").

There hasn't been an official announcement of these from Damien or SubPop yet, but there are PO links up on Amazon and Bull Moose. Although since these are being put out by SubPop, there may be colored Loser Editions available, so you may want to hold off on pre-ordering if that's something you're interested in. there won't be colored Loser Editions.

All copies ordered directly from Damien's webstore will be autographed: https://damienjurado.bigcartel.com

This month is the first time I have used the member store. I purchased two copies of Pinkerton a week or so ago, and then a separate order for the Avalanches on Friday.

Over the weekend I got a shipping notification. Is there any way for me to check what was in that shipment? (the notification just says MULTIPLE) Will they have sent all the records at once, or more likely just the copies of Pinkerton, with the Avalanches to follow later?

The reason I ask is that the records are being shipped to a forwarding address in the states then get sent to NZ. If there's two separate shipments, it's more cost effective to wait till they all arrive and ship together.

I wasn't expecting anything to ship till next month.

This shipment is likely just the copies of Pinkerton, with the Avalanches to follow later.

Ordered this online, but only after looking for it in the wild. The clerk at one of my local shops said there was a "recall on the art, so retail copies are backordered"? Wondering if anyone else has heard this. If it's further back in the thread, sorry of this clutter.

Interesting, first I've heard of any recall.

If I sign up for a crate membership today, when will the albums ship? Do I have to wait a month before they ship, or is it a quick turnaround?

I am looking to grab Pinkerton and that Vile half and half.

They all ship around the 10th of the following month (so around July 10th in this case).

So a crate membership is a monthly fee I pay in order to have the privilege of buying records? Am I wrapping my mind around this correctly?

It's like if my local record store had a cover charge when you entered?

That's one way to look at it. I think it makes more sense to think of the crate membership fee as a flat shipping rate, e.g. $6 for shipping no matter how many records you buy from the store.
