Awesome, thanks. Hope this is as good as Beast, that's my favorite.
Interesting, that's probably my least favorite of his. What other albums of his have you heard?
-
I'm guessing the glitter is going to be like the white version of DC?
Yes the US/SubPop white, not the UK/Bella Union white.
-
Third single up now - Homecoming. All three tracks he's previewed have been excellent. Lyrically very interesting and sounds really good. I'm extremely excited for this album!
100% agreed, this is my most anticipated album for the rest of the year (a close second is the new Bryan John Appleby).

Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, but according to Bull Moose, both Lonesome Dreams and Fading Trails are getting colored represses/reissues out 10/30.
Lonesome Dreams (coke bottle clear, /500): http://www.bullmoose.com/p/21226849/lord-huron-lonesome-dreams-coke-bottle-clear-limited-to-500-copies
Fading Trails (yellow, not sure quantity but assume /500 as well): http://www.bullmoose.com/p/21226846/lord-huron-strange-trails-yellow-vinyl-2lp

Unless you just particularly want to buy from UO/use your discount, you can buy the same table from Music Direct for $299. http://www.musicdirect.com/p-7298-music-hall-mmf-22-turntable.aspxHas anyone bought a turntable from UO before? I have a 40% discount there that would make the $500 Music Hall MMF-2.2 only $300, but I've heard they don't package records well when they ship them and I'm a little worried about buying something this expensive from them. Would I still have the 1 year warranty from Music Hall if I purchase through UO?

I can hear it a little.
Kinda feel like they should have opened the album with Clearest Blue like the live show. Never Ending Circles just throws you right into it.
I definitely agree with this.

Is this streaming anywhere yet?

Is SlyVinyl a Distro or label?

Wait, two things
Is this a LP or a 7"?
Is this super limited or shoud my local store that gets all his other releases have one in stock
1. LP
2. Not sure yet, but guess is the latter

Amazon is currently sold out, but Volume 2 is also up for pre-order at I&W's official merch site and Bull Moose.

This is a weird and intriguing one - I do love this album (my favourite OR album), but they've already released it in a single disc plus double disc (the Appendix), so it's kind of weird to re-release it again, as I imagine many dedicated fans don't want to buy it a third time. I'd need to see what the blues/folk covers look like.
Tracklist for the covers LP:
Volume III: There Swims a Swan:
01 Goodnight Irene
02 I'm in Love With Susan Smith
03 See See Rider
04 Knoxville Girl
05 Satan Is Real
06 Good Liquor Gonna Carry Me Down
07 Willow Tree
08 Moonshiner
09 Oh, The Wind and Rain
10 What Are They Doing in Heaven Today
11 Trouble in Mind

Bull Moose: "Buying is disabled for this product"
anyone know why that might be?
Probably means they've already sold their expected allotment/want to avoid overselling.

For pre-orders does Merge charge upon ordering or upon shipping?

Still checking on release date for this, as no one seems to know.
But:
Iron & Wine's 'Archive Series Volume No. 2' collects two cover versions of classic songs found in Sam Beam's early home recorded cassettes and presents them on limited edition colored 7" vinyl. Side A features a cover of Neil Young's "Albuquerque" while Side B features a cover of "It's The Same Old Song" by the Four Tops. These two covers augment the Sam Beam original songs on 'Archive Series Volume No. 1', all of which were performed and recorded at home on a 4-track cassette by Sam - before he was Iron and Wine. Includes download coupon. Artwork by Chicago's Plastic Crimewave.
Limited Edition of 2000 Colored Vinyl (1000 Pink + 1000 Lemon-Lime)Here's the Amazon link, but you cannot purchase and it still has an April release date:The Amazon link is live - out October 16th!

Got my new tube preamp setup finally!

Still true:
I'm convinced that you're the world's coolest drug dealer.

What are you Fat Possum experts' top 5 LPs to check out? I only have one Silver Jews album and have heard nothing else from the label. Into stuff like KOLS, John Vanderslice, garage-y lo fi stuff, singer/songwriter stuff. Not into instrumental math rock-y stuff or scratchy throat post-emo-No-Sleep-style stuf.
Not a Fat Possum expert, but would recommend any of the Andrew Bird, A.A. Bondy, or Townes Van Zandt albums.

Is there any guarantee that it is the variant? I see on the side that the club typically sends out limited releases but am wondering because I recently ordered the regular release last week. They have Wild Child coming up next which is another album I was eyeing so that could help sway my decision as well...
Back in June the label said the colored variant would be part of the Vinyl Den subscription, see the comments on this post/photo: https://www.facebook.com/dualtonemusic/photos/a.10151725020195933.1073741826.256557545932/10152807525580933

That gold variant looks pretty great bummed I missed out on it
Pretty sure you can still get it by signing up for "Vinyl Den" - Dualtone's monthly subscription service which you can cancel at any time - before Sept. 1st. That's what I just did. http://www.dualtone.com/vinyl-den

New album (Carry the Ghost) is streaming here: http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2015/08/17/noah-gundersen-carry-the-ghost-album/

Got my shipping confirmation for the colored version of Carry the Ghost. Did anyone ever get a copy of Family? All I got was the 7" mentioned above. I ordered them together and my DualTine email said they were shipping the "last of my order."
I pre-ordered Family from Dualtone and got it on the release date (or thereabouts). I didn't get the 7" until 4-6 weeks later IIRC.

Surprised this album isn't being discussed more, it's really really great. It's now streaming on NPR: http://www.npr.org/2015/08/12/430367065/first-listen-nathaniel-rateliff-nathaniel-rateliff-the-night-sweats

Link? Not seeing it in a search. Only giving me copies for near $900...

"Bootleg edition" available for pre-order on Bull Moose:
http://www.bullmoose.com/p/20856769/lucero-all-a-man-should-do-bootleg-edition-ltd-to-1372-copies
"Individually hand-stamped and numbered. Vinyl color is random mix. Limited to 1372 copies because the band used to live at 1372 Overton Park and that was the name of their major-label debut."

Dawhizz - I spun my blue copy for the first time last night. I had heard the three previously released tracks but not the full album (didn't listen to the NPR stream). I like it, but wouldn't say I love it; I would slot it after Animal Years, Historical Conquests, and So Runs in my personal rankings. I think the best tracks are the three previously released plus Young Moses and Cumberland which, as you mentioned has a very strong Graceland vibe and would not be out of place on that album.
I do like the mix of different styles on it, just was hoping for a few more "story songs". But this is just based on first impressions, hoping it grows on me with a more plays. Excited to listen to the home recordings/demos CD to see how those versions compare/contrast.
