  1. Whatever they're playing here, I want it bad. I was actually a little underwhelmed by "Smile". I hope I can hear it in the context of a full album sometime in the next 5 to 10 years. (Also, this is my 666th post. IT'S A SIGN! )
  2. Eh, honestly, it's my second-to-least favorite. It doesn't have the tunes like Pony had, and doesn't have the dynamic hard/soft stuff that they ended up exploiting fully on SNW, which would have been a much better follow-up to WP. My list ends up looking like: White Pony (Only just.) Koi No Yokan (Interchangeable) Diamond Eyes (Interchangeable) Saturday Night Wrist Around The Fur Deftones Adrenaline Can we just rename this thread Deftalk and move to Everything Else? This is fun.
  3. White Pony might be their best record, yeah. But not by very much. Even so, the band's sound has evolved so much from then, it's not really fair to compare them. Chino's side projects have been ace. I seem to be one of a few people around here who are really hardcore into Palms. That debut record has Chino's best vocals to date. Period. Anyone who says otherwise has not heard "Mission Sunset".
  4. ^ I'd take Radiohead and Björk if you end up selling 'em.
  5. Psyched for anything new from Deftones. It's probably not a popular opinion, but I really think a lot of their best music has come out of this post-Chi period. Not to say that Chi wasn't an amazing bassist/person in general, but man, 2010-onward, these guys have just been on the ball musically.
  6. That Howard The Duck one is hardcore. I don't even buy comics, but that shit would look nice framed. (Whoops. I mentioned framing something. Well, I had a good run.)
  7. http://comicbook.com/2015/01/16/marvel-reveals-run-the-jewels-variant-covers/ You guys see this?
  8. I'm in. I've been meaning to get more involved in the fun/social stuff around here. You all seem pretty okay. Steppin' out.
  9. Semi-relevant, cool story. Back in 2013, Travis mentioned that CD sales had been down a lot, and the store was taking a hit as a result. So a bunch of people on buckethead.tk organized a day where everybody agreed to pick something up to help him out. I remember one dude decided to buy literally 1 of everything in the store, ended up spending like $600. I picked up a handful of CD's and this poster. I sent Travis some good words, and he signed it for me. Great dude. Anyways, if you want this Thanatopsis pressing to happen, you should register an account on TDRS forums, vote in the poll he's got up there, and tell him you're interested. He's never done vinyl before, but I know he'll make it happen if people are serious about buying it. Go, go, go!
  10. HOLY HELL YES. I HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR YEARS. Will gladly pay $25 for this, I love everything Buckethead did with Travis. Dragons of Eden should be pressed as well, and I won't even get into the terrible, unspeakable things I would do to own Population Override on vinyl. Lovin' the Bucket-love on VC.
  11. Went ahead and checked out Sannhet after seeing the hype here. Great stuff! Really sounds like what I wish Deafheaven sounded like... I'm on board. Bring it, Flenser.
  12. You know something? That's fair. Somewhere along the way, we all forgot that Death Grips is supposed to be about peace, love, and brotherhood. C'mere, you!
  13. Detective Mills and Detective Somerset contemplate the future of Death Grips:
  14. Trying again now, then. Thanks. Edit: Worked. 'Sall good.
  15. Site must have been back just long enough for my download to start. Just finished downloading a minute or two ago, and guess what? Invalid folder. Now the harsh dilemma of whether to be a logical person and wait for the site to be back up and running and try again, or read into this WAAAAY too much for reasons I don't understand.

  17. Uh, yeah, so they just posted an all new 14 track instrumental soundtrack on Facebook.
