  1. I know of several people on here that are considerably over that $50k mark, but yeah anyone that is over $20k has probably been doing taxes for awhile as that was the previous point paypal was sending out 1099s.
  2. When people can't see that mods said get this crap out of here and just keep going on ......
  3. Making light of the Millions that have died world wide including some of my family members is sure what the Mighty Mighty Bosstones would have wanted. Mission Accomplished
  4. Its always best to contact a tax professional and take all internet advice with a grain of salt. If you get audited siting some guy on a VC isn't going to hold up in court.
  5. Businesses can be any size, it doesn't have to be your full time job. As long as you are accurately keeping track of expenses it is easy to properly file this way, I've been doing it for years.
  6. It's only less profitable if they went from doing something illegal before (not paying their taxes). I don't see it making much of a difference to anyone that flips any considerable amount of items as they were already paying taxes.
  7. I keep pretty detailed records of purchases and expenses. And paying things like sales taxes do count towards expenses.
  8. The discogs taxes are the sales tax on the item. 1099 reporting is for income tax. Both things have to be paid. It depends on where you live, many states have already had that $600 threshold for a year or more, it is just expanding to all states now. I believe Dream is in IL which has had it for at least one year already. But yeah you can go onto your Paypal at any time and look under tax forms and see yours. Depending on your state and if you hit $600 or more in sales last year you would be required to file it. If paypal sends the 1099 and you don't list it when doing your taxes it is big red flag and I would expect a letter/bill from the IRS sooner than later.
  9. So does that mean there is 500 with the alt cover, and then X many more with the blue vinyl and regular cover?
  10. "This bundle includes "A Dream About Death" on crystal blue color 12" vinyl, packaged with a screen printed insert that is hand numbered out of 475. This vinyl variant is only being sold as part of this bundle." But then it's also separately.....................
  11. Yeah the wife got through right away for tickets luckily. Hopefully this goes smoothly.
  12. The drama continues today. Impossible to get tickets...then a second day added. But the second day is the exact same bands and you need another ticket for that day?!
  13. Discogs says I currently have 3,805 records and I keep that pretty up to date. 99% of that has been played at least once, as new arrivals stay separate until I play them and catalog them away. I have thinned out about 20% of my collection over the last year getting rid of variants that I've needlessly collected. Probably play 2-3 LPs a week. 7"s are played much more often as I have a jukebox in our dinning /living room that we change out the music on every few months.
  14. Man Ill have to put a monitor on that page in case more go in stock. Saw her on that tour ( Sep 12, 2001) and that CD was in heavy rotation for awhile. But also I like a 20th anniversary pressing of a record ....a year later.
  15. Yeah always keep track of costs....because unless everything was free you didn't "make" 10k.
  16. Buyers have to pay local taxes on all discogs orders. Been there for at least a year, can't remember the exact date they started it.
  17. Congrats on locking it in at the cheaper price....to reward you ....you get the worst vault package yet. Enjoy.
  18. Gotcha, yeah I don't know much on the European side of things, just from the US side.
  19. What were you accepting payments with if not paypal? I personally never offer non-tracked shipping. You can still set it up to offer discounts on larger orders, like currently I have mine set to free shipping on all orders over $100.
  20. I've had plenty of orders go through over the years that were mispriced. Think that was my first time trying on Kung Fu though.
  21. Presale prices are all over the place for this from $11 to $100....whats the actual MSRP?
  22. They just send the form showing how many transaction you have received, you can then mark they were gifts. Just like if someone gifts you money and you deposit it into your bank, it will show up on your end of year bank statement.
