  1. (green vinyl)
  2. Has the "Dad" ever said anything about what the fuck is wrong with his dumbass kid?
  3. That's odd. I've always gotten shipping notifications from Third Man. And my packages always arrive, like clockwork, 3 days later.
  4. It seems like a nice set. So much so that I almost regret having absolutely zero interest in Willie Nelson.
  5. Got my Vault package today, and my Shins Live @ Third Man LP. For some reason I assumed the live Stripes LP would be a gatefold, but it's not. 2 LPs (one white, one red) in a regular jacket. Those always annoy me because they tend to get ringwear really badly. But it sounds really great, so I'm not complaining. The photo book is nice, if a little dinky. It's basically like a moleskin (softcover) notebook with photos inside. Haven't listened to the 7" yet, but it looks nice. Not a bad package all together.
  6. I'm always surprised that more people aren't aware that mail trucks are basically big rolling ovens. My delivery guy said he always makes sure to hit my house early when he sees record shaped packages for this reason. He's awesome.
  7. $15 to record your own record and have it cut on the spot seems pretty reasonable to me.
  8. If you can't snag anything here, Guitar Center usually has a few decent (but obviously not GREAT) preamps for like $50 - $100 in store. Personally, I'm of the belief that a preamp is substantially less important in the audio chain than the source, the player, and the speakers/headphones, so there's no harm in getting by for a while with a budget one.
  9. beardxcore messaged me the other day offering me a record I had been posting about wanting (it's also in my sig). He accepted my first monetary offer and immediately asked me to send the money as a gift. But then I asked if he could verify himself with a discogs/eBay account with good feedback, or of he could at least send me some photos of the record. After I sent that message he stopped replying to my messages. I sent him another message a day later asking him if he was going to send the photos. At that point he replied and had a story about how he had gotten a bigger paycheck than he expected and had decided to hang on to the record. I didn't think TOO much of it, but apparently he's ripped people off under another name? What's the story?
  10. Huh. I've actually never seen this on black vinyl.
  11. Also, update on Asian Man. I posted a few weeks ago about how Mike Park accidentally sold me an acetate he didn't have, and sent me a regular test pressing instead, but fixed the situation like a true gentleman and refunded me a big chunk of the money, letting me keep the test pressing dirt cheap. Well, Mike found the acetate that was misplaced and hooked me up at a fantastic price. Mike Park is a good fucking dude. If I could buy all my records from him, I'd do so in a heartbeat.
  12. Sure, but those hosting services cost money that small labels can't always justify. You can't be bothered to rip your own records, but you still got your music thanks to the label's effort. Why give them a hard time?
  13. Ideally, yes, they should be more vertical. Leaning like that can cause warping over time in the records, from the pressure of a full shelf of other records leaning against them. I shove in shoe boxes or books to act as spacers to keep mine more or less upright.
  14. Apology accepted. Now what was this thread about? eBay or something?
  15. Maybe he is. I don't know. Someone was a raging dick to him, and he's justifiably not happy about it. Maybe he's dragging it out too far and venting in the wrong place. All of that can be true. It's not either/or. And being a dick is fine. I just don't understand the random insults, that's all.
  16. I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt because I don't know you and you've never been rude to me for no reason. Now you have. Repeatedly.
  17. I don't see any other way to take it when someone says "why does _____ matter, because you're not very active here". Especially when it comes from a much more active forumer. It's dismissive of someone because they haven't been here as long/made as many posts. That's shitty exclusive behavior.
  18. What exactly did I say that makes you think "emo boy"? I don't remember calling you names or caling you "Polka Boy." Anyway, that's precisely what you're doing. "Your opinion about the mods doesn't matter as much as mine because you don't post here as much." I'm just pointing out that that's shitty behavior, and doesn't do anything to improve anyone's experience on the forum.
  19. Yeah, that's a prime example of why I'm always hesitant to buy on eBay from sellers who clearly aren't record sellers. "Collectibles" and memorabilia sellers are the fucking worst at this shit.
