  1. I'm in need of some cash, so putting these up for offers, which are theoretically the most valuable pieces in my collection.

    edit-adding prices per recommendation:
$350- Wolf Alice - My Love Is Cool- 2xLP, Album + 10", EP, RE + 10", EP, RE + CD, Comp (weighs 5 pounds)
$350 -Neko CaseTruckdriver, Gladiator, Mule Box Set, Compilation, Limited Edition 8 x All Media (weighs 9 pounds)
SOLD $250 -Nada Surf – Vinyl Box Set 1994-2008 Box Set, Limited Edition, Compilation (weighs 5 pounds)

Can provide exact shipping cost for your location, feel free to DM for a quote. As you can imagine, these are all pretty heavy.

I have 100% rating on Discogs (drenchedecent), but would rather not sell them there because of the massive cut Discogs would get. Considering eBay, but a hassle considering how many photos I would have to take and upload.

All three are NM/VG+. I love them, so have I cared for them and stored them well. For Wolf Alice there are some scratches on the outside box (which is black and glossy and was a really bad production decision), but the records have barely been listened to (twice each maybe?). The Neko Case set is closer to mint, and three or four of the albums have never been spun. I just checked, and two are still sealed actually. Neko autographed the booklet as well. The only Nada Surf record to have been spinned more than once is "Let Go". "The Weight is a Gift" is sealed as I have another variant. Happy to share photos or more details through DMs.

  2. I'll definitely pick this up as I love Thrice and the price point seems good for 2023. However, I just did a full listen and I was underwhelmed. Pretty much sounds like a really good live album. Drums and bass sound great, but then just simply combined with two guitar parts. The only overdubs I noticed were vocals.

The guest vocalists are kinda pointless, as they are never featured, they are just bgvs. I was especially hoping for more from Andy Hull. Also, the loss of strings is significant--"The Melting Point of Wax" is really subpar without them. Thrice has always been super creative and used interesting recording and production techniques, but not here. Maybe that's the point.

  3. Got my Embodyment and looks and sounds great. I've only spun disc 1, so haven't yet discovered if there is distortion on disc 2--but happy that they are 45 rpm. Kind of surprised and disappointed it's not a gatefold, the art is fine, but kind of basic considering the price point and the level of detail in the original CD artwork (that is not found here). I wish they had done something like that unique LIYW jacket.

Also, so much for Unoriginal vinyl's plan to stop scalpers. There is someone on Discogs who got three Obi strips for Embodyment and purchased three copies of the album--they have one in their Discogs collection and then two for sale for $105 each. And the descriptions give the Obi strip numbers. 😡 😫

When you get yours, let us know if the vocals on the acoustic version of One Less Addiction on your pressing are pretty distorted. I tried cleaning a few times and checked other records to make sure there wasn’t something going on with my table.

This sucks. Mine hasn’t come yet, but will do. Worried honestly because my Idle Threat record (also T&N) is distorted the last two tracks on side A.

  5. I’ve been tracking two releases on Discogs, both Fountains of Wayne and Appleseed Cast, since yesterday morning. Copies began popping up at retail prices around 11:00 am ET on Friday. Now on Saturday there are nearly 50 copies of each for sale, with the price now below $25 each. I don’t always pay attention like this, but it seems way less people are heading to RSD in person, and it is far easier to grab what you want online than in the past.

I was pumped to finally pick up the collector’s edition of ‘Brother, Sister’  for $60!

  7. Oceania is in my top 5 Corgan albums ever. And I think the only reason Zeitgeist is getting talked about (more) is because Billy pulled it from streaming, so there is mystery tied to it (but it still sucks). I do think act 1 of ATUM is decent and I am optimistic for acts 2 and 3. Seeing them live recently, while not great, did reignite my interest and been listening to the Pumpkins a lot more the last few weeks.

  8. I went to Walmart this morning and it is true--all vinyl is $15. I picked up a few things. My overall observation though is what horrible condition most of the records are in. Many have the shrink ripped, corners bent, etc. Some of the albums no longer even had the shrink, and I even saw a couple where the inner sleeve had been removed. This seems like a great strategy for Walmart to purge their entire inventory so that they can figure out how to handle records properly, or just stop selling them altogether. Also, at checkout I had to decline a $2 protection plan for each record I bought, ha!

I wan in line from 10:00 to 2:20, got really cheap, really garbage seats. So much for having any kind of priority, I made it through the queue three times and it errored out and kicked me back to the beginning twice.

How much are cheap, garbage seats? Hoping I can take my family of 5 for less than $500. Although doubting I'll even get tickets at all since I am only on the waitlist. Will try the Capital One thing tomorrow. I am in Detroit, and there are two shows here, so perhaps that will help me out.

  10. Unsure I'll pick up "Out of State Plates" right away, but glad it's getting pressed. I am much more excited about the RSD Black Friday pressing of "Traffic and Weather." I have yet to decide if I'll try to brave a store to pick it up or simply order it online; here it is on Rough Trade: https://www.roughtrade.com/us/product/fountains-of-wayne/traffic-and-weather-rsd-black-firday-2022

    Act 1 is out.

Don't see me listening to this ever again. Billy continues down the same synth pop/80s sounding

It makes me sad with every new Pumpkins release that Jimmy is still in the band. His talent continues to be wasted

I definitely long for more guitars and less synths, but I will say I actually had a surprisingly positive impression when I listened to the first 7 songs in the car this morning. Noticed some pretty nice drum fills and thankfully way more guitars than "Cyr." And while one of the lighter tracks, "Embracer" stuck with me more than any Pumpkins song has in a decade. I won't buy the vinyl until I hear all 33 tracks, but it's a possible purchase.

That's interesting. I'm usually pissed when shirts are NOT on Bella Canvas. Their easily one of the softest and nicest feeling shirts you can print on. What's your gripe with them? I usually pass on awesome shirts when I find out they're printed on Gildan.

Same! Bella Canvas are my fav t-shirts ever and they are all I want to wear.

  13. Quote

I was really hoping the reason distributors were being goofy with the release for independents was because they were going to exclusively get the 3am edition

While I'd love for this to be true, I can't imagine it for vinyl. I have to think the 13 core tracks were chosen and sequenced in part to fit on sides A and B of a single LP. No reason though they couldn't quickly make CDs of the 20-song 3am version. Been awhile since Taylor has released a single LP of anything.
