I remember when NFG was a little local band that was a side-project for Chad Gilbert when he was singing for Shai Hulud...I recall a particular warehouse show when they were opening for Hulud and Where Fear And Weapons Meet...NFG played for the first time their version of "My Heart Will Go On"...I was on the side of the stage taking pictures and had to stop cuz I started thinking to myself..."Wait...isn't...that...the...Titanic...song?!?!?!?"...The crowd was stunned but cheered and went off nonetheless...memories...

Same here. I used to have it on a word document, but then switched over to excel. Then I joined VC and it is what it is now.

I love the band and feel they deserve all the recognition they get...but I cringe at the thought of some vacuous, mainstream, teeny-bopper being all into them because they heard the music on MTV (what little they do play anyways) and on some unrealistic reality show...UGH!!!!

Sounds to me like you answered your own question already. If you don't have your eye on anything outside of what you're already collecting, you may as well go forth and augment your collection. Especially since as you say you can stay out of eBay. As far as suggestions of "amazing records"...that is a loaded question and I am sure there will be plenty of suggestions from everyone. My tastes are all over the place. It would all depend on what style of music you prefer.

If that doesn't get people's attention, I don't know what will.

Not exactly a movie sountrack but the Saturday Morning: Cartoon's Greatest Hits. A bunch of different bands and musicians doing their take on classic cartoon theme songs. I can't help but get in a good mood every time I listen to it. And of course, Ren & Stimpy: You Eediot! I am such a dork!
