more myspace stuff. including a new song! From: The Jealous Sound Date: Aug 29, 2008 7:28 PM Subject: Terrorists. Body: It seems some record terrorists that call themselves "Gel is Sound" have taken "Got Friends" hostage. We've no intention to let them have it easy and we won't sleep until we get it back. So PLEASE stay away from HERE or the terrorists will win! Do you really want the terrorists to win? http://www.virb.com/2036713428276604

Underoath - Lost in the Sound of Seperation
deafmx replied to murakami's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Release Notes Lost In the Sound of Separation [CD & DVD] [9/2]: Release Notes: Muze hmmmm tempting but it feels like it'd be a loss if it wasn't really the package. but what else would be a list price of $89.98? i could see them selling them instore alongside their only other vinyl, judas priest and opeth! ha. -
i barely had any time to dig through cheapo's vinyl, but i got a few things. Tool - Undertow $15 2xLP black. might as well own it finally. The Locust - New Erections $13. clear with yellow and black splatter!! $1 7"s Harkonen - Hung To Dry (green marble) 22-20s - Why Don't You Do It For Me? (black) Snails - Pins And Needles (ex-Cooper. now known as We Invented Tornadoes) Future Of The Left - adeadenemyalwayssmellsgood (black) Everready/Fig Dish - Split (black) VA - Under The Influence (dedicated to hardcore) where fear and weapons meet, fast times, ten yard fight, time flies, committed, kill your idols. and dude didn't ring up this gem, can't believe he missed it. My Morning Jacket - Evil Urges 2xLP/CD $20. score! i think that about makes up for them towing my car out of their lot on christmas day a few years ago!

tguk were definitely on the brink of something, saw them in big places after the 90's. saw them in a dive coffee shop with ATDI and i think broadcaster in 99 before i moved out west. epic. first time hearing/seeing ATDI. ate that up. quicksand were big for being a smaller band, then broke up and buzz got them back to reforming to open for deftones in 1998. saw a couple of those shows. then they split again. wasn't some ex-quicksand in the band handsome? maybe not. i think rival schools prompted people to go back and look at walter's older bands so quicksand probably got another boost. i never heard of jawbox til deftones/far covered "savory" for a far b-side. so i can't judge their popularity. awesome band though. i never really thought of texas is the reason as a really great or popular band. only reason i really ever knew about them was because jonah matranga was in a band with members of TITR in new end original in 2001. i saw A.F.I. and L7 open for the offspring in i think 1998? greatness. then i almost got my ass kicked during offspring by some guy with a white nike t-shirt, sleeves rolled up, backwards baseball hat. that's when i knew it was time to stop listening to the offspring jawbreaker seemed pretty popular mid-90's and even more popular now. i never heard them on the radio or anything but our radio stations didn't really cater to their sound. braid never seemed really popular outside of the limited college radio scene. i didn't really get into them until after i started liking hey mercedes, wish i had liked braid back when they were together. missed out!

so a gay guy gave me a message yesterday
deafmx replied to dante3000's topic in Everything Else Message Board
thought you meant wayne brady but he wasn't in training. funny how his wingman was gay yet nph is the gay guy in real life. great show, nph was made to play barney aka 'swarley'. and himself in the harold & kumar movies of course. -
Blackpool Lights covered "Forgive And Forget" when I saw them. It ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuled. oh those bastards! i travelled to see their last show at the uptown in missouri with lucero/veda! now i'm pissed and kinda happy. hope they just stay together. everyone else is doing their reunions, why not them!? i've seen blackpool lights twice, wasn't about to pay the $35 to see them open for social distortion. they played "forgive and forget" i think both times. i know they played a cover of tom petty 'american girl' too. good stuff. drummer with one leg, so strange. jim once ate up my quarters at the triple rock playing joust and killing me repeatedly. what a jerk! i miss tguk too damn much.

uh oh, alt press rears it's ugly head again i have that gj shirt. woo. i really should have spent the $30 for warped tour. i forgot about it til about 4pm sunday afternoon. i figured it was too late by that point! i've only seen them in the ascot room. they haven't really made it here on many tours before that. cancellations and such.

photos of Animosity/Drumcorps altered beast 10"
deafmx replied to buddhistzombie's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
i like animosity but $5+ shipping is a little ridiculous. plus just remixes of their tracks is kinda lame. if it wasn't for the shipping, i'd have bought one mostly for the art. looks crazy and like they put some work into it. and it's altered beast! come on, show some genesis love. -

128kbps? what is this? 1998? radiohead did 160kbps for In Rainbows. how "revolutionary". at least trent reznor had the balls to put out every variance of encoding, including V0. what a torrent geek he must have really been. props. /thread hijack

got a brochure thing from sunset station in las vegas. offstrip. bands playing soon: skid row, warrant, EVE6, sister hazel, foghat, led zeppelin (??), atomic punks, slaughter. i think they're onto BIG things career wise. they did a decent cover on the pixies tribute though. surprisingly.

As if anyone needed another reason to hate McCain
deafmx replied to dante3000's topic in Everything Else Message Board
daddy....who? for shame, arizona, for shame. how is daddy yankee "an american success story"? wouldn't that be just about every crossover international popstar then? maybe mccain should be guest judging on american idol for more braindead votes. RNC starts here on monday. anyone as psyched as ME?! can't wait....no, really. i can't. is it over yet? -
ugh. i usually put em on myspace top friends after i see them so they stay kinda fresh in my mind but i need to make it bigger or something. i've been cutting wayyyy back this year, skipped alot of stuff i wanted to see. stuff i can still remember: marilyn manson/ours murder by death/dios malos black blondie/roma di luna anthony green/good old war russian circles/dalek/young widows xiu xiu/thao nguyen the dad in common converge/the red chord napalm death saul williams the crush (reunion show) best friends forever malachi constant/volante/cave deaths (modern radio 9 yr anniversary show) maps of norway (too many times to count) doomtree (too many times to count) building better bombs cavalera conspiracy/dillinger escape plan/throwdown/bury your dead DUFFY (took my mom to see her) the paper chase themes (ex-end transmission/vox vermillion) the evening rig company inc black belt jonezin what i should have broken down and went to: caribou/fuck buttons apples in stereo jeremy enigk/damien jurado and the rest has slipped my mind.

Toadies - No Deliverance (LP)
deafmx replied to rhythmgtr5's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
bump. what's your verdict on the new toadies? i'm not really feeling it, reminds me more of burden brothers than anything. maybe 2 decent songs, or i just need to listen to it more. kinda bummed. -

i was driving down sunset in hollywood with my ex g/f in 2001/2002 or something and saw someone that looked like their lead singer so i yelled "PUDDLE OF MUDD SUCKS!" and she said it was him, and he had a very pained expression on his face. hopefully, it was him or i feel bad for anyone that actually looked like that guy.

deafmx replied to scottheisel's topic in Everything Else Message Board
scary but rollins wasn't much better in the 90's. a roid rage away! what happened to carrot top between those 1-800-COLLECT commercials and now? it looks so unnatural. was there something wrong with being a twerpy ginger? -
