  1. Jesus man. Go out and buy the following Afghan Whigs records: Gentleman, Black Love and 1965. If you enjoy those get the others, but I'd say those are the most accessible. Screaming Tree's I've only been casual with, but Sweet Oblivion and Uncle Anesthesia are both solid, but a bit dated perhaps. Lanagen has an album with Isobell Campbell (from Belle and Sebastion) that's pretty solid. pretty much any mark lanegan solo album is solid, the isobel campbell stuff is good too. i saw screaming trees a couple times in 1996 and they were great. i would say more of a live band than recorded. haven't seen lanegan or any other projects since, i really wanted to see the gutter twins but i was trying to save money and skip a few shows. oh well. i just bought the 'black love' cd for dirt cheap recently. one of those bands i never gave a fair chance in the 90s. still need to give that a listen!
  2. bah, i have most of the good games on genesis already. wii has alot of these on virtual console. they can get expensive after a while. is this as bad as the game gear?
  3. just saw this bulletin on myspace, thought someone might care besides me. can't wait!! From: The Jealous Sound Date: Aug 14, 2008 8:07 PM Subject: Got Friends. Body: "Got Friends" Coming Soon, as in REAL soon. Stay Tuned.
  4. i think it did get released on vinyl, although deep elm's site just says cdep. all i have by them on vinyl is Brainiac / Love Potion No. 10 7-Inch (DER-357) on pink marble. now i want it. 'the little death' is my favorite release of theirs, wish they had made a full length on deep elm! it'd probably have been as good as the ep. actually, a little googling. http://www.amazon.com/Little-Death-Ruth/dp/B000001ISO/ref=ntt_mus_ep_wlb_oe_lp/105-1561086-8866845 even better http://www1.gemm.com/item/RUTH--RUTH/LITTLE--DEATH--6--SONG--10/GML4117343/
  5. $50 and some change. portishead 'third' boxset. i couldn't resist a coupon and free shipping from insound any longer.
  6. if only murder by death had made that move when doing 'Red Of Tooth And Claw'. not only is the record impossible to get out of the gatefold, the sleeves are all torn up from being such a snug fit. both copies. grrrr. i wish more labels/bands would learn how to package and realize how it's going to shift in shipping. :-/
  7. awesome dudes, i wish they were touring more. saw their first cd release show in a HOUSE in arizona when i lived out there. been a big fan ever since. i've only seen them in MN once and it saddens me. what band wouldn't want VINYL? ???
  8. people LOVED seeing the locust when they were opening for yeah yeah yeahs! i loved them anyway, that's all that counted.
  9. man, spank rock, girl talk, css would have been huge. i haven't been to coachella for 3 years so i've been missing alot of festival stuff. craving it. my friend just went fri night to see radiohead. blah. did you see saul williams, toadies, the octopus project, nicole atkins or holy fuck?
  10. weird dude. he replied to all the ones i sent. most of the stuff they do is /1000 just so you know. but i don't think they did the vinyl, that's the only thing. he probably doesn't care about some other label's pressing. i was thinking it was the locust pressing it themselves. couldn't find anything on the supposed label. :-/ amazon said ANTI for cd, Radio Surgery for vinyl.
  11. DHL sucks used to work there after they bought out the company i used to work for, airborne express. turned a sweet slacker job into a nightmare. they treat employees like shit, i'm sure they're going under. almost all of their operation is done by contractors, barely any actual DHL employees. suckssss. get all the freebies you can though!!
  12. Sorry, Four Wall Blackmail is the only album of theirs that's worth a damn to me. i own em both, i don't care. i like both albums. 'vices' kinda turned me off though. all embodyment can be pressed then, even though 'hold your breath' has been done to please everyone, every album should be put to vinyl on the SS roster! ok??
  13. this, and pretty much all solid state records. demon hunter - demon hunter dead poetic - four wall blackmail still breathing - september luti-kriss - throwing myself embodyment - the narrow scope of things the chariot, can't mention them enough their site really messed up ??? Zao The Running EP (Re-issue) (2002) Buy Now Zao Four Wall Blackmail (2002) Buy Now
  14. i broke down, had to hear this before tuesday. i forgot all about chino being on this album, it's an alright song. redeemer was better than o god the aftermath, sorry. still can't hold a flame to bless the martyr where's the vinyl? come on VC, i want a boxset add-on was checking bestbuy.com's new releases and there's some stuff coming out i didn't expect, but cd's. i really want to hear the new verbena, i thought they dropped off the face of the earth. it is an "interesting" time for music, definitely.
  15. not to mention bcd doesn't want you to order more than one variant of a record, as opposed to one copy per color. bastards. how can an obsessive collector survive ordering from them?!
  16. wow, isis has been around 25 years already? they've aged gracefully!
  17. Um no. Underoath was already changing their direction while dallas was in the band. he just left for completely different reasons. well, obviously. the difference between 'the changing of times' and 'cries of the past' was pretty remarkable. complete shift in sound, but it got even more ridiculous with the new singer and 'they're only chasing safety'. this whole section kinda sums it all up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underoath#Cries_of_the_Past_and_The_Changing_of_Times_.282000_-_2003.29
  18. great record! got the polyvinyl package of owen vinyl whenever that came out. i guess the ep wasn't part of that, must only have the cd. import vinyl pssssh. :-/ got a polyvinyl package today though. woo. ida - lovers prayers (2xLP/180 gram black) ida - my fair, my dark (180 gram black)
  19. yay only $35! and they just posted on the TRL board that it'd be up on monday. keep checking on monday!!! so glad i just checked! maserati up as well. get on it!
  20. i checked dead format, nothing for the album anyone have any info on the pressing history? i'm sure it's crazy, but then again, not on GSL?? :-/ who pressed it? amazon says Radio Surgery. cd was ANTI. i always thought it was on ipecac but i guess not. any info appreciated, i'm eyeing this one already and i tried to add one to an order the other night and it was already gone. THE LOCUST “New Erections” LP clear w/ red and black splatter vinyl
  21. ohhh damn, that's on vinyl? i was tempted to get the cd but i have almost all the cd singles from that era, alot of rehash. $100 is just ridiculous. did you check out the mp3's yet?
  22. SDRE definitely. what about DEFTONES? sick of always seeing those import prices for their albums. can't part with that money, a boxset would make sense in their case. all maverick. madonna needs to get hip with the vinyl!
  23. speaking of anthony green, who's pressing "avalon" on a 2xLP?? one can hope, can't they? is the 2nd circa album coming out on vinyl ever?
  24. christ. get on it TRL, i have to leave in 2 hours! had my friend checking all day while i was at work!
