Understood Travis, but isn't it fair to say Hot Topic partners with these labels for exclusive distribution rights? Hot Topic as a whole could either choose to stop doing business with the label if customers are unhappy or provide feedback to improve product quality.
 
I also understand these releases sell out quickly and are extremely profitable for the company. The demand is there and Hot Topic is doing a great job at finding a product that currently correlates with their customer base. 
 
I just think it's fair to say a lot of these exclusive releases aren't intended for true vinyl collectors and audiophiles. The price tag doesn't warrant the product for but I'm also not your target audience. 
 
Just my 2 cents and not a knock on your business practices. Hot Topic obviously knows what they're doing with these releases.

I'm pumped that everyone seems to be happy with how it all turned out. As you've noticed, I went a little overboard on the packaging to make up for the wait. It was a lot of work, my favorite shirt and hat STILL smell like ink, and I'm still recovering from the papercuts...but it was worth every bit of it and then some.
I do have some of the black run left, in case anyone has a specific cover they wanted. If you'd prefer not to pony up for an extra copy, that's understandable though. Plus trading and hunting is half the fun.
And permafaust, if memory serves, there were a few that were very dark purple and slightly translucent (I looked at every single one, because I'm a vinyl nerd and all). That's probably what you got. It could very easily be mistaken for black at a glance.

I love how every SRC release sells "Faster than expected" and then ends up on amazon.

El Dorado is the best song on there in my opinion.  I may be in the minority, but I actually prefer The Big Dirty and New Junk sound for them over the more spastic, fast, punk stuff.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this album and I think it fits great into their discography.  It seems like for a while they would have more stuff like TBD songs with some chaos mixed in and on this album they flipped the script and did chaos with some TBD mixed in.  Personally, I'm just more of a fan of their groovy hardcore heavy stuff over the spastic chaos stuff.  Still excited to get my green record, and also excited to hear the bonus songs for sure especially since Andy mentioned in the pudcast that one of the bonus songs was his favorite song off the new album.

Glad I built this F5 macro... it's really helping right about now.

agreed for the most part...it doesn't matter to me but it's kind of tough to tell someone they're being ridiculous when they drop $45 on a "new" record and the sleeves are all torn up
