Still bumping

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before or if it seems obvious, never been lucky enough to own Juturna on vinyl before, but I'm supremely happy they included the secret track of Juturna without bullshit minutes of waiting or a long repeating sound. I was really hoping for that mercy, especially after I recently acquired a Heavy Heavy Low Low record that did just that. Like 8 minutes of a repeating sound before the last track. NO REASON FOR THAT. Okay I'm done.

Still sounds like terra firma to me. You called in an extra 'rare' record you received as a mistake and sent it back. Someone out there gets a Juturna, you made no undue profit. As a bonus you got the records you wanted.

Wow. When it comes to integrity, you're on terra firma. Good on you. Way too many people would have taken advantage of that.

Juturna and OLG in the mail today from EVR. I can breathe again. I always worry with those mad-dash-to-order things that my order will get caught up in nonsense and get lost in the shuffle, and by the time I try and sort it out they'll be like 'Whoops, we don't have anymore, here's a refund.'

I sent a second email (stating that it was my second email) detailing my order and when I could expect it. He immediately replied back saying he must have missed my first email, and that Glocca Morra 7" was released mid-November, and my random-LP-that-looked-interesting (Muhammad Ali S/T) is what's holding up the order because he ordered more from the original label and is waiting on them. He offered to replace the Muhammad Ali with something else. I replied that I don't mind waiting as long as I know everything is coming, but if there's any way to know if my order will come before Christmas, as some of these items are presents, and if I made another order for AJJ tapes would they come in time as well. I acknowledged that it was probably crazy over at Lauren Records and I was sorry if I came off mean or stern (I'm pretty sure I did), and he mentioned that he had to shut down his store temporarily, I'm assuming because of the orders. He said 'if you want that ajj I can ship everything with it and just ship the lp when i get them', which sounds perfect. I asked how exactly he wanted me to order that, should I make another order, or what, and communication abruptly ended. Still not quite sure what the outcome is, but he did respond to me, which is good because when both contact methods failed I kinda panicked. So it's not a bad experience, he's very accommodating, but the communication is pretty weird and choppy and leaves me biting my nails. Still just hoping that the bulk of the order comes before Christmas.

But poor Collections 01. He's so lonely. He needs his brother. SecularHaze, you're an incredibly generous guy and I enjoy seeing what you come up with for entry ideas. Good luck to everyone.

Oh, dang. I saw they were doing the Kishi Bashi from last year and thought maybe they would, but I didn't even think they were released under different labels. Whoops. At least now I know I'm not really interested in this and can save the five bucks. Thanks.

Got mine about a week ago, same deal. Kinda serious seam splits. The record looks great but the jacket looks so sad. Makes me just a little annoyed, because it's something that could've been prevented so easily, but oh well.

Were there any Son Lux - We Are Rising TP's? Or do they plan to sell those? Lanterns I'd pass, but We Are Rising would be lovely. Can't get enough of that album.

Which is..?

I made another order about a week ago, after they gave me my refund for a little over $100 for records that didn't ship. 12 LP's and a 7" for 95 bucks, still free shipping. Couldn't stay away. Everything came fine, I got a Kimya Dawson record for the gf, Eight And A Half's record from last year on white 180 gram, a Bitches/Yuppies noise rock split that I love, Von Bondies which I didn't remember liking THAT much back in the day but Pawn Shoppe Heart actually is pretty solid. Best purchase is Frog Eyes - Paul's Tomb: A Triumph. Hands down. It's like Arcade Fire if they were three times better. The vocalist is amazingly talented. Also the 7" is a random Simpsons single of a couple songs from back in the Tracey Ullman days, only a buck. Only one tiny problem: my Meth Teeth record was missing, and instead I got Woods - Songs of Shame. I'm going to chalk this up to them both sharing a label, which shows up as WOODSIST on the invoice. Not a huge deal, I could have gotten a lot worse of a record in the mix-up, and Meth Teeth isn't extremely rare or anything.

Yeah I remember really enjoying Lineage but that appears to be sold out so, I'll settle on the newer one which still sounds great. It'll be a nice surprise in February. Woulda bought Lucky Shiner in a heartbeat though, fantastic album.

Are there any other particularly stellar releases that are worth picking up on the site? I wanted to make shipping 'worth it' but everything is all, deluxe and expensive, and the couple I go for like Gold Panda's Lucky Shiner are gone.

I ordered a big pile from Lauren Records - some Joyce Manor tapes, Glocca Morra 7", a random LP that looked interesting, fifty bucks total. That was over a month ago. I've emailed both addresses given to me, zero response. Anyone can comment on Lauren? I wanted to buy a couple additional AJJ tapes but I wanted to wait til my first order came in. It has gifts for other people in the order, I thought 2 months ahead of time was plenty but it looks like it won't be. Alternatively, I got that BBNG2 from Innovative Leisure in perfect condition in like, 2 days.

If it's Painted Palms, nothing 'special' in terms of pressing or anything, I think. Just a 7" with new songs in between albums. Came out a while ago. If I had to take a guess, they sold out of Canopy and couldn't get many people to just order the 7".

Dang. Looks like everyone got a Painted Palms 7" except me. I got a Superhumanoids - Exhibitionists CD. Woulda really loved that 7" instead, Canopy was great and I PO'd the upcoming album, sad times. I did get the Airhead though, aw yeah.
