Following up on my earlier Lauren Records post. He simply said he was mailing out the 2x Knife Man cassettes in place of the Muhammad Ali LP, and if there was a Muhammad Ali tape around he would throw it in. I replied that I'm okay with that, then I immediately get an email saying my order shipped. Well about a week later, I do get my order. And I do get a Muhammad Ali cassette as a bonus. But my order is incomplete and missing 4 tapes, including the Knife Man tapes I requested to even get the order out. This is a week before Christmas now. I send yet another email politely saying that my order is incomplete, referencing the order number, and requesting the rest of it, kinda sorta emphasizing that some of these were meant to be gifts. I get an email in two seconds that says, verbatim, 'ok ill send it'. Did not arrive before Christmas, didn't get all my gifts out. I'm kinda unhappy with them at this point. The guy has been very nice and all, and when the order was actually shipped it came in a timely fashion, But in the end it took 2 months, a lot of emailing and order modification and they still didn't even get my initial order correct. It's a shame.

It's still barbaric and bizarre, with or without light. People die. It's nuts.

The fam doesn't really do Christmas that hardcore since the kids all grew up, but they did give me a very nice winter coat that I enjoy. But then My girlfriend is crazy. This shit wasn't exactly cheap, I know it. The Drippers goes for 50 at least. And it's scratch-n-sniff, although I can't really make out the scent, smells like sandalwood to me but that's not an option so it might be Campfire. Or Dirt. I dunno. Supremely happy with these, and I'm glad I didn't win the SecularHaze contest where he straight up bought someone a record, otherwise I woulda had two Teebs and felt bad

Considering I live in NY where no HT variants were supplied, and I missed OLG every time it came up online due to work, and 20 bucks plus tax plus shipping is around that much anyway, that's more than fair, yeah. He didn't have to hop on VC when he saw them, he's giving undue time and effort to make sure a VC member gets a record they desire. That's worth more than a couple bucks. There's no possible way anyone should feel cheated by that, it's extremely generous and it makes my Christmas complete.

First year I have a girlfriend when Christmas rolled around. Here's what I got her. - 4 records (Kimya Dawson, Jeffrey Lewis, some live AJJ thing, and Yoshimi from Flaming Lips - Do You Realize is something we slow danced to when we saw them) -Joyce Manor tape - I wanted to give her an AJJ tape too but it didn't arrive in time -Tote bag with a big cat on it (she doesn't do purses) -Random tour poster reprints of bands she likes -Handmade scarf from a mutual friend -Sartre book (She's into existentialism) -Egon Schiele book (She's an art major and loves Schiele) -AJJ Fanny Pack Thing they sell on their cartel Plus a card. I wanted to get her flowers and cookies too but all the stores were closed when I got to it. Save it for V-Day. It sounds like I probably went overboard, but I already know some things she got me because she loves to ruin secrets - a Teebs record and a Tobacco record (not cheap) and a big sweater that just says BUTTS on it. I have to outdo her but I know I won't.

I;ll have to hop on the 'if you happened to buy an extra I'll take it off your hands' bandwagon too. OLG goes up 45 minutes into my shift, and goes down and hour before I'm done. This is where having a smartphone would be handy but eh.

Adding on to the pile, I'm also in the market for Doom Loop and DUTD cassettes if anyone grabbed extra, I'll throw some bucks your way for the trouble.

For those of you in Western New York, the Walden Galleria had none when I went and checked today - looking back a couple of posts at the list of stores, there were no NY listings anyway, kinda weird. They had Harvard - The Inevitable And I for eleven bucks, though. Snatched it.

Looks like their mail-order is closed from Dec 20th - Jan 1st. Odd that they would have a big sale like that but be closed as well, they are going to have a big ol pile of orders when they come back, may take a bit to actually receive the items.

I got one of those when I got my Son Lux preorder, they left a little message that went something like 'We shipped your thing late and that makes us feel like poop.' I hadn't even noticed it was late, that was nice of them. Joyful Noise is good stuff man.

On the cusp of ordering Donnie Darko despite intl. shipping. Anyone know if they still are selling the records with the lithograph? It says poster, but nothing about a lithograph, although it's still the blue pressing that's available rather than standard black.

And THOSE guys have 10 bucks shipping for one record in US. I tried Canada for curiosity's sake, and it's 21.20, UK is £16.64 What's going on here? That has to hurt sales in a big way. This is great music and I want to support it, but.. they're making it difficult and I don't know why.

Tempted to buy this, album sounds good and I remember Froth from cruising Burger's site a while ago, The deal is a little whack though, 8 songs for 14, add six for white?... I'll probably buy it anyway, I've done worse, but man, I wish they would throw a couple more songs on there.

I did. Two different newspapers for two different orders. Mostly about movies. It's weird that they make these, where do they distribute them besides online orders I wonder.
