  1. Where did you get that from? I'm still not sure that's right. spfc.org...it's the pumpkins authority. find a better site and i'll believe it. plus, i'm old and bought the first press right when it came out. i've seen the presses come out over the years and i absolutely agree with the order they came out per spfc...
  2. The first press is maroon. A deep, dark red. You're not that far off
  3. There's an insert? Son of a fucking bitch. Can someone post it? I bought mine sealed (logo labels) and I guarantee it never had an insert. Fuck!
  4. No, the latest pressing is on black 1st press: Unknown pressing quantity on purple/maroon vinyl 2nd press: Unknown pressing quantity on peach/pink/light-red vinyl 3rd press: Unknown pressing quantity on orange vinyl. 4th press: Unknown pressing quantity on black vinyl.
  5. Do people upload their Excel sheets to Google documents just so it's easier to share their lists? Just curious.
  6. The vinyl of "There is Nothing Left to Lose" is absolutely atrocious sounding. A muddy mess. If I had to use that as a reason that vinyl sounds better, I'd be (rightfully) laughed at. The UK singles from that album sound great, though. Just wanted to vent about the horrid sound of the LP though.
  7. Mine turned out to be clear dark green with black smoke throughout
  8. I went on a spree (for years, actually) where I was buying anything and everything. I was buying way more than I had the time to even listen to. If something was released on vinyl and I heard good things about it, I bought it without even thinking about it. Worst case scenario, I can recoup my cost on it. And it worked out well in some cases. But now that I've slowed down on my purchasing (fucking mortgage), I'm catching up on my listening and it turns out I like a whole lot less than I'd hoped. My point is that (for me) buying vinyl for the sake of discovering awesome new stuff has left me with a lot of shit I don't really want and, as I reflect, it's not very fulfilling. The coolest packaging, colors, and most limited editions don't mean much if you don't love the music. My recommendation: 1.) Buy the vinyl copies of albums you know you enjoy but never got around to buying 2.) Buy the variants to complete your collection 3.) Screen new music via myspace or whatever before buying the vinyl Just my two cents
  9. 40 Year Old Virgin was awful. I love shit like Mr. Show, The Office (UK, haven't seen US one), Arrested Development, etc. In all seriousness, should I have liked that movie? It seems like a lot of people whose taste I usually trust thought it was funny as hell. I thought it was horrid.
  10. A road trip might be in order. I'd love to see Snapcase again
  11. ..."Stars" by Hum in a Cadillac commercial. I know it was a hit and everything but it still struck me as odd
  12. I have Badmotorfinger on gold and it's on black as well
  13. About $13 shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/GALLOWS-In-The-Belly-Of-A-Shark-2-x-7-Singles-MINT_W0QQitemZ150162512351QQihZ005QQcategoryZ45541QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItem
  14. That was a very strange package job. I expected mine to be terrible, but they're perfectly fine. Makes me wonder who's really to blame.
  15. Be careful! Maybe an eBay seller took two records, broke them in half, and melted them together. If the black grooves play songs from Vs. God, I'd ask for my money back! But seriously, something tells me I have the same color. I'll check when I get home. Maybe it's a goof on the discography

  17. I felt like posting a picture, so here goes. Bad songs, but cool concept. Yellow sleeve is a gatefold which houses both green sleeve singles. And they threw in an autographed sleeve to boot.
  18. Per Var in the comments section of Vinyl File #6: It's on tour in Europe inside a locked suitcase. There will be a lottery and the winner gets to open the case and look at it. Then we will lock the case for another five years. -- We have added another 10 songs and a crapload of art and photos. It will be worth the wait.
  19. Got my kick ass Joe Jackson - I'm the Man box set today. Box, poster, and LP on five 7" singles w/ sleeve. Small hole 45s no less. A&M was cool in 1979
  20. There is a 10th anniversary reissue of the CD but not vinyl One by One was a double 10" in the US, might be what falloutcollapse is thinking of
  21. As the saying goes, something is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Now if it's readily available somewhere else at a cheaper price, then I agree that it's stupid for someone not to be doing their homework. No Doubt is a good example. When I came across that listing, I was stunned that there was a blue vinyl copy because I was pretty damn positive it wasn't on color vinyl when it was first released. So I started Googling and quickly found that it'd been re-pressed.
