  1. Fucking extraordinary. This thread should be required reading.
  2. I'm pretty mad about Lilyhammer, I was so excited for a fourth season. Also, curious to see how Bloodline carries on into season two. I thought the first was great but I'm just wondering how long the show can continue.
  3. I have an original pressing of Marty Robbins' More Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs that was still in shrink until I took it out about a month ago. That's a few years older than Please Please Me.
  4. Hey guys! ME: My name is Alex. I work at a retirement home, take morning classes at the local community college, and I'll be 19 at the end of January. I am responsible for guitars and voice in a garage band with a few of my friends called Fucking Corndogs (from Minutemen's "History Lesson, Part II"). I've played guitar for about eight years and music has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. How's that for cliche? MUSIC: My primary musical influences - conveniently, also some of my favorite bands - include Descendents, NOFX, Propagandhi, Sublime, and the Smiths. My trade list, at least concerning these artists, is pretty much entirely up to date but my want list could use some heavy revision. I'll get on that, but whoever my SS is: I trust your judgment. I like just about anything that came out of the punk scene in the 80s and 90s, so I don't think I'm too hard to shop for. I have a soft spot for, but am terribly uninformed about, funk and soul music as well; I like Roy Ayers and Marvin Gaye. Last year I received an LP from a German band called Messer, and it was great - if you're from somewhere overseas, or your town has an interesting or thriving local music scene, I'd love to hear some of it! I do not like Brand New or much modern pop punk at all past blink 182's Take Off Your Pants and Jacket and even that album is pushing it. Enema of the State will probably always be my guilty pleasure, though. MOVIES and TELEVISION: I wouldn't call myself a movie buff, but I do like to watch a lot of movies. Some of my favorites are the Shawshank Redemption, It's a Wonderful Life and Glory Daze. My favorite comedies are Clerks, Office Space and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I love movies and documentaries about crime, gangs and the mob - obviously the Godfather trilogy, Goodfellas, and the Departed rank near the top of my list, and I could watch Donnie Brasco and Blow a hundred times. I can't wait to go see Black Mass on my next day off. I guess I'm a pretty big Johnny Depp fan then, at least with regard to his more serious roles. This interest extends to TV, too. I've watched Breaking Bad through three or four times and watched Better Call Saul religiously. Lately I've been watching Boardwalk Empire, debating whether I should shell out the cash for season four on Amazon Prime, and in the meantime starting the Sopranos. I also like TV about cars, especially Top Gear and Wheeler Dealers, although I am not much of a typical car guy. I drive a 1988 Honda Accord, so. GAMES: I don't play as many video games as I used to, but I am really into Grand Theft Auto and hugely excited for Fallout 4. I preordered the Pip-Boy edition and I don't even have a next-gen console to play it on. Aside from video games, I love Scrabble. OTHER: I like patches and pins/buttons, as well! As I write this I am sewing a Subhumans patch onto my jacket. I love to represent my favorite bands and labels. -- Anyway, I hope that is sufficient. I'll add more if I think of anything.
  5. My pin, shirt, and LP came in the other day. More than satisfied all around. Thanks!
  6. That picture of you and your wife makes me happy. That's a pretty cheesy entry and I don't think you need to enter me into the contest, but really man. Reading your post warmed my heart.
  7. Second Hand Smoke's original tracklist, like that of 40oz., contains "Get Out!", whose unlicensed samples have probably prevented its pressing. I don't believe Stand By Your Van, being live, includes any samples, so the more likely reason for its limited release is that by 1998 vinyl was already well on its way out. We may see it pressed before this vinyl bubble pops, but I wouldn't put it down as likely.
  8. You cannot pay someone enough to "forgive and forget" police murdering their son, which is what the state is attempting here. I hope they prosecute and all six cops are put to death.
  9. Hoping my order went through this time, because for some reason it was rejected during the first restock. Grabbed three with the HTBELLS15 coupon.
  10. Hate to bump this without info - since I know some of us are now anxiously awaiting the next restock - but does anybody have any working coupon codes for September like those that were posted for August?
  11. "Hope" was originally a Descendents song, and Sublime covered it pretty much to a T. Certainly the Meat Puppets took some influence from Descendents, as nearly every band coming from the underground in the 80s did. Sublime, too ("Thanks out to Bad Religion and the Descendents"). Also, I believe the consensus is that the man speaking over "Thanx" is actually Miguel Happoldt, an intern who snuck the band into a studio to record 40oz. Sure does sound a lot like Bradley though.
  12. Good-looking pin! I picked up one of those, Indecision's Unorthodox and a shirt.
  13. If someone could grab one for me I would appreciate it and throw you an extra $5. I'm at work and the checkout page won't load for me. Love, Brusker Du

  15. Robbin the Hood is my favorite. At least, I like it over the self-titled. One of very few albums from which I like every single song.
  16. Two for sure. Descendents' Somery has taught me never to purchase another double LP in a single sleeve if only for how difficult it is to cram both inside.
  17. That's it. It's time for a fucking moratorium on pop punk. Just fuckin shut it down.
  18. I bought a pin and a 45 adapter, since I needed one of those. It's a shame Storenvy doesn't work with Google Chrome but I installed Firefox and made not one but two accounts (seriously, what the fuck is with Storenvy?) to buy because this pin is just that cool. Next time I'll be sure to grab one of those EPs. Thanks for sharing!
  19. I love the Hard Times. Some of the funniest shit I've ever read.
  20. I just wanted the 182nd reply to deprive BlinkAndPanic of another blink rarity. Edit: Oh, god dammit.
