  1. Original 40oz should hold its value as it has through the other represses. Just don't try to sell it until it's OOP again.
  2. Yep, there is a scene of Dre and Yella performing at Lonzo's club in their Wreckin' Cru getups. And it is just as ridiculous as the music video.
  3. I was very satisfied as well. There's only so much you can do to dramatize rappers' contract disputes, and I think Gray did a good job of it. However, I was disappointed by the redaction of Dre's (multiple) assault charges, the absence of any mention of "Real Muthaphukkin Gs," which made it appear that the Chronic was the end-all be-all of the NWA beef, and the fact that Arabian Prince wasn't in the fucking movie at all. He wasn't part of the group for long but he was a founding member so that was weird.
  4. Oh fuck. If those Bullet, Horror Business and Halloween 7"s are original, you've got some money coming. God dammit
  5. They're in the same vein as Grand Theft Auto and Saint's Row, but a bit more restrained in gameplay and much more restrained on the satire. For the most part, gameplay is more realistic if a bit stiff. I can't recommend Mafia II strongly enough. One of the best games I've ever played and one of the most compelling stories as well. I'd put it up there with GTA IV as one of the best of the open world crime games. They emulated the 40s and 50s better than any other game I've played. Very gritty, sometimes too much so (a certain scene in Central Park comes to mind). Definitely check it out; though it may not have enough content to hold you over until III it's definitely a great time-sink. As jetsfan said, the first game is also stellar but I haven't put nearly as much time into it as the sequel. Being from 2002, it actually looks pretty good for its time but the mechanics are still a bit clunky. Check it out, too. The guy at the end of the Mafia III trailer with the gray hair is Vito Scaletta, from the second game. I see they're sticking to the tradition of protagonists rolling over from one game to the next, even if only in a minor role. (Players of Mafia II will know that Tommy made a short appearance during one mission.) I like that sense of continuity.
  6. Yeah, this should probably just be merged with shenanigans' announcement thread or the fat preorder thread, but your copy is very pretty. Here's mine: Don't sweat not finding the other thread. The search function here is a joke.
  7. Yeah, this looks miles better than the Spin Clean. Will probably pick one up after payday.
  8. War on Women really blew me away opening for Propagandhi last February. If riot grrrl were to have a harder-edged revival for the new age, these girls would be at the helm.
  9. Any thoughts on the soundtrack album from Dr. Dre? I'm loving it. I think he did a great job of capturing a late 80s/early 90s vibe, as much as I hate to use that word.
  10. Yeah, he was electrocuted in the straight-to-DVD Final Break but we never saw his body. The article Brock posted says that the Final Break will be at least partially written off as non-canon, so there are two potential ways for this show to work: Michael's death is retconned and it picks back up where Season 4/the movie left off, or the Final Break is totally scrapped and the new show takes its place as canon, with Michael still somehow dying at the end. Or not. Who knows?
  11. I would love to see Bellick come back, but unfortunately we saw the body when Self brought his casket in. I think he's done for good, but that was one of the best deaths I've seen on TV. They really turned his character around. Kellerman was one of my favorite characters throughout the whole show. He had a ton of classic one-liners - the best was "My name is not Lance, and I am not an addict" after he kidnapped Sara. Comedy gold. I agree with you on season three, but I really liked four. Yeah, it stuck out from the rest of the show like a sore thumb but I thought it was written well and it was nice to see all of our favorite characters develop together. Mahone and Bellick were especially good in season four in my opinion.
  12. To be honest, I don't think it would be beyond Prison Break's writers to write off what happened as another Sara-was-dead-but-not-really-dead, and have Michael in supermax. I'm hoping for the full cast, too, but the show will definitely be missing a bit of its magic without Bellick around. They really did a great job with him in season four. P.S. Do we need spoilers? This show ended six years ago and was hugely popular, I think everyone's seen it.
  13. Yes! I've been following all the little inklings of a revival for months now. Also exciting that the Final Break won't be taken as straight canon according to that article. I thought it was a little ridiculous anyway.
  14. I would like to put my name in this hat, too. This one was my favorite, after the original Fat Music.
  15. Man, this is really cool. Sorry to hear about the circumstances leading to your ticket surplus, but this is gonna make someone very happy. I think my location could make things a bit easier re: transportation, but I've never sat down with a Foo Fighters LP and really, truly given it a listen. In five weeks I couldn't build one fifth of the appreciation for this band that you have. So there must be somebody here who would absolutely blow their top to do this with you. Whoever that is, have a great time! Edit: Also, may I say how fucking cool it is that so many people here at VC are as friendly as you are. This is the only place I consistently see things like this come up, with offers of couch-crashing and pizza. Fuckin' great. We are the best community.
  16. Yes, this is weird for Steve "No Kurt, you can't have these tracks recorded again or remastered elsewhere because I am the best producer there is" Albini. Granted this isn't In Utero, but there's no reason for him to remaster this other than for the cash.
  17. What would that entail? Jail time for looking at a gun?
  18. I'd better get some fucking turpentine. Still trying to figure out what that's used for. In the real world.
  19. Nothing on this website upsets me more than this thread being bumped without an update. Not even Jetboy.
