Not that I know of.. it sold out early during the preorder. Its pretty nice but not the hue of gold I was expecting. More deep and less shine. It fits the album a lot more than the red though I think (though I've only seen pics of the red)

Fingers crossed for the repress everyone keeps saying is "sure to happen" all these years! But it just hit it's tenth anniversary so maybe it'll get the 10 year celebration treatment. ..That makes me feel too old.

I have ...is a real boy on white and I've been contemplating listing it on eBay to try to get a decent amount for it since its like the only thing I have left to sell and I've been unemployed for months and bills just keep being due every month lol But its one of the three most crucial albums to my upbringing so I'm really on the fence about parting with it for too low. I'd suggest a price for mine but I'm guessing you'll find someone with a cooler variant willing to part with it for less. In any case, good luck!

I have that green swirl version or however you describe it.. red sounds really nice for this though. However I was able to get mine signed by them at a Chelsea Wolfe show and they all signed their pictures inside the sleeve really drunk and silly. Odd thought. Do people ever do variant only trades, without trading their sleeve and inserts? I know that sounds kinda odd in concept

Since you're into Caddywhompus, you should check out Pope. They're also from New Orleans and they play with Caddywhompus kinda often. Ive been a fan of their "Known Weed Smoker" ep for a while, and saw them this month for the first time. Picked up their new single Bug on cassette.. was excited to see it had two bsides not on their bandcamp. And the best part.. they only charged $2 per tape!

Haven't heard the album yet but the songs where phenomenal live. The band floored me. The way the Guy on lead used that preprogrammed instrument was so interesting, and the way the drummer goes ballistic allthewhile vocalizing a vicious, unique growling style.. I was really into it. I picked up this awesome 17x11 poster they had (for only $3!) which I thought had a blackhole in space pictured above a paragraph of lyrics.. it is actually crushed pills pressed under a CD, which in retrospect makes sense; the drummer was so bug eyed and wiggin' out whenever I met him and tried to compliment his playing style. He also looked really confused when asked to sign the back of my poster lol. They were great though. Wish I coulda picked up one of the colored Want LPs...

And I'll cover the south/south-east; oh yeahhh lol putting the "collective" in vinyl collective. I'm worried those 100 red DSU's will sell out before the fourth or fifth show which is when I'm seeing him in Nola.. I'll be crushed if so. It's becoming one of my favorite albums of the year.. so good throughout all of it! In a dream world, Orchid Tapes would press a limited tour split cassette with Alex demos and Elvis Depressedly demos on opposite sides. A man can sigh and hope.

Glad to hear this! I wanna sniff it as soon as possible haha. I was wondering, although its unrelated, will Alex and Mat have any orchid tapes shirts available for sale on their tour? or any other Orchid Tapes merch? And also how many copies of the red DSU will Alex have?

I was considering selling mine for a bit when i received it since i don't have a turntable at the moment like a month ago but since then I've gotten really into Ricky Eat Acid, Alex G and I've always been really into elvis depressedly plus I'm thinking ill try to get the insert signed by Alex and Mat on the tour next month. but these are just starting to get to people.. maybe someone will change their mind next week after spinning it a few times! good luck in the search

Does anyone know what number the clear edition of Pain Is Beauty was pressed at? saw her the week it was released and that's what they had on the tour.

Saw them last night in New Orleans. It was great. The Christmas Island tracks are excellent live. The band seems so much more confident in their presentation than last time I saw them.
