  1. I knew better than trusting my faith in Yeezus. Or I shoulda.
  2. She's lucky; I've always had a NO PEOPLE, NO LIGHTS, NO DISTRACTIONS rule with LOST.
  3. You should see my face right now. Bible study's at your house this week.
  4. Sincerely excited in hopes this is a real thing. It'd be like having an extended version of the YEEZUS tour Runaway monologue inside my own bedroom. Here's to hoping Lil B's debut vinyl release is a 3xLP set recording of his NYU lecture.
  5. Wake-and-bake is fine, man, but maybe consider Hotpockets instead of yourself next time lol
  6. Going on six years and I'm still happily with the person I fell for at age 16. Keeping together through teenage years and distance caused countless of these stories, on both of our ends, but they've all been worth it. Besides, we'll both probably always be a little crazy lol.
  7. I mean countless bands have families and still find a month or two do perform a tour circuit every year or so. Wilco comes to mind as Jeff Tweedy is a bit of an idol of mine in regards to a family man who also succeeds in giving his career all we can (and I'm aware he's taken to acting jobs and sporadic solo gigs again recently, but the man's devotion to both family and career is admirable.) And I was just having a conversation with members of Mogwai about their marriages, all the way on the other side of the world from their home. I'm not saying us fans deserve shows more than they deserve time with their families, but I do feel there's countless musicians who still keep touring a part of their career despite family commitments. With that said if I was a touring musician I'd put my wife and family far before career obligations so I get it. Just noticing for years and years now they've been really spotty on performances.
  8. So why has brand new's touring been so erratic over the last few years? What do they have against full tours? Why always the sporadic, random dates? Seems unusual to me.
  9. I smiled larger than a grown man should at that post. And if it truly is laid back as a whole then I really am ecstatic. My favorite AJJ songs seem to be songs like If You Have Love In Your Heart and their "country"-esque covers.
  10. Good question. What quality is the stream / leak and do they differ? I suppose it is possible that they posted a stream to combat a separate leak though that is mere speculation.
  11. All of the bundle? The book, tote, patch, print etc etc? Cant really remember what all was included. And is that 15ppd? Edit: I see now that it is ppd. Damnit man why do you gotta entice a jobless guy with only 40 bucks so much haha
  12. Somewhere was always that way though. Vancouver was great but obviously in line instrumentally with the bands that were most heavily influencing the "post-hardcore" scene in the mid 00's. Somewhere was a compositional Goliath of originality and gripping flares of hooks. Wildlife began to take a much more steadily flowing approach that in my opinion maintained the intensity. Rooms has reached a smoother intent instrumentally that I feel thematically echoes and conveys the coupled lyrical intention very well. But with all that said I understand the fandom divide.
  13. So stoked to see tour dates and that they'll be stopping in New Orleans, even if it is my least favorite bar they're playing. Gonna have to download this today.
  14. Do you have any stickers advertising oberst's solo releases from Merge? I'll check soon and see if I have any stickers you'd like to have more than me.
  15. Actually they're sold out of Hardcore, I believe. They never put any out. They had Earth Division though. And surprisingly I bought the display copy of rave tapes and they didn't have any more in the venue so I really think they didn't bring many records to the states with them. And yeah, Stuart sitting down with that bass for Helicon was such a wonderful thing to experience. That finger picking he does just filled the room so gently and yet simultaneously powerful.
  16. Every moment truly was incredible. And without a doubt the highlight of the whole performance for me was Helicon pt 1. There's no way to describe the way the bass resonated in that venue and how it complete blanketed my entire existence. And to the person attending the Miami show, there is no way to prepare for the amazing experience you're about to have. You're gonna enjoy it so much!
  17. Well, everyone.. I made it. After an amazing afternoon with my girlfriend and her family I rushed to new orleans and met up with my friend. I made it 40 minutes after doors and remarkably I was able to meander right to the stage, front center. Being so close resulted in an incredible experience of truly becoming entirely engulfed with their performance.. every aspect was so immaculately refined from their setlist to how well they played each song to the awe inspiring light show. After witnessing a concert which I could only describe as mindblowing I was lucky enough to receive a setlist. As I was staring at it in front of me laying on the stage, a Roadie tossed a handful of used guitar picks onto it, both white and black, featuring the rave tapes logo and band name. I kept one of each color and chased down the guy who stood next to me during the show and gave him one of each as well. He left after thanking me and I grabbed a copy of Rave Tapes on vinyl. Just then a multi instrumentalist from the band, Barry, walked into the then empty bar/merch room and I was able to have a nice conversation with him. He joked about driving to Miami the next day and told my friend and I how he and his wife watch Miami vice, which sounded extra silly coming from his awesome Scottish accent. He saw my record and happily pulled out the sleeve and signed it to my name and left a nice little message with his signature. Making it to new orleans for Mogwai was the best decision ever.
  18. Yeah I definitely haven't been able to see them before. And like you said, could be ages until they return to the us, much less new orleans...I may have to take the advice and do whatever it takes to get there.
