Hate to be the naysayer, but the LPs look kind of -meh. Nothing special and far from the mock ups. I was hoping for more white with colored swirls. Instead, it's basically just translucent and doesn't match the cover like the mockups did. I'm hoping the VMP variant turns out dynamite.

According to CT's Facebook, they are having a DIIV midnight sale tomorrow. Selling the LP early, so to speak. But yet those asshats can't get their preorders out on time. #firstworldproblems

Has anyone received a shipping confirmation from Capture Tracks that actually has their LP in transit? Or has CT provided an estimated ship date for this? Has it been delayed? The 5th is in 3 days. Does anyone know when Vinyl Me Please will be shipping out their variant of this LP? I thought I read on their page that all shipments go out on the 2nd week of Feb. Thanks!

The CT variant and Newbury variant are almost identical in my eyes, but CT gives more bonus items. The VMP variant is probably my favorite so far. I hope the LPs turn out like the mock ups. Went with the CT and VMP.

When does the DIIV VMP go on sale? If I purchase the "crate" membership today or tomorrow, can I purchase the DIIV album? Or do I have to wait til a certain date? I cannot find any info on VMP. Thanks.

I don't think I am going to go the Newbury route on this release. Just curious how this variant sounds overall. And I take back my previous comment, Newbury is now sending most of its LPs in generic paper sleeves (based on the 3 releases I received today). They used to use clear polyvinyl sleeves primarily, which was nice.

Let us know how it sounds. I own the blue CT variant and it leaves a lot to be desired sonically, but that Newbury $27 price tag is steep for a single LP. I do find Newbury variants to be well pressed and usually in quality inner sleeves (i.e., no paper scuffs).

A simple post about an inexpensive Eminem box set ignited an uproar of internet spending and forum conversations. I really enjoy advertisement glitches and watching these situations pan out on VC. Hopefully most everyone gets what they ordered. The Last Waltz box I ordered hasn't been canceled yet! Fingers crossed.
