  1. Just keep a daily eye out on their online store, eBay, and Discogs. An under $50 copy should pop up eventually. Even 3EB vinyl collectors gotta eat too.
  2. That's a whole other story. Been tracking down a particular LP from a defunct label and ordered from the label owner's old online store...two weeks went by this no correspondence...filed a PayPal claim...label owner never responded...got an automatic refund after the response period expired. Two months later, VC member tells me same label owner sent him a copy of said LP. I email owner and ask if he has more copies available. No response. A month later, a copy pops up on Discogs. I buy it ASAP. Invoice comes and it's from the very same label owner. His Discogs seller profile says "takes 1-2 weeks to drop off at post office" so I'm OK with the 11 days it took between when I ordered and when it was dropped off. I just want this LP even if it takes several weeks or longer to get here and involves zero communication. So close, yet still so far.
  3. Sometimes you get so genuinely excited for a new release that you buy the most limited variant instantly in a #FOMO-induced fugue state and later forget you even ordered it. As mentioned above, welcome.
  4. Vinyl used to be $11.99 a record until you started asking Travis so many questions.
  5. I will give you $15ppd for Nada Surf's Lucky or Let Go, if you have them.
  6. Maybe the organizers of RSD are survivors of buying terrible reissues for $40, so we shouldn't scrutinize their release choices or pricing.
  7. Maybe they figured "if these guys will gladly give us $200 for 3 records, they'll probably be OK waiting several months". They didn't realize the waiting part is where you would stop putting up with their BS.
  8. They've had everything 30% off for months it seems. Are they slimming down their inventory for any particular reason?
  9. STOP ARRESTING PEOPLE FOR THEIR SPEECH ON BEHALF OF THE GOVERNMENT. YOU ARE THE REASON THAT LESS AND LESS PEOPLE ARE USING RAPE AS A LAZY, CASUAL SYNONYM AND MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ARE EMPLOYING MINDFULNESS TO THE WORDS THEY SAY AND HOW THEIR WORDS AND ACTIONS AFFECT THE PEOPLE AND ENVIRONMENT AROUND THEM.
  10. Still waiting for a killer John Vanderslice, Nada Surf, The National, Chris Staples, or Dr. Dog RSD release but thirty shitty soundtracks and a Flaming Lips art record is the 2nd best thing so I'm happy.
  11. Here is my glowing review for Ernie B Reggae. My gf bought me a record from their Amazon store as a gift and it arrived FAST (we are both here in California) and it was packed in a regular square mailer inside a larger box with extended corners. Double boxed! And they included a $10 off $30 coupon that could be redeemed through their own online store. My second order, using the $10 off coupon, was also for 1 LP and it arrived fast and double boxed just like the first. Last week, I got an email for a $10 off $40 discount so I ordered 4 records and 2 7"s. Today, they arrived in an awesome thicker record box inside of an awesome thicker box with the same extended corners. And the 7"s were sandwiched between 7" cardboard squares, wrapped in seran-wrap, then wrapped in bubble wrap. Long story short, best packaging I've ever seen. Their only real weakness is their catalogue, which is mainly reggae and classic rock. I can't find everything I'm looking for on their site but, when I do, it's often very reasonably priced. They are worth a look!
  12. Because looking at RBIs without context tells you more about the player's teammates' on base performance than that player's own hitting performance.
  13. A few more LPs have been sold. Why keep playing this game of VC roulette? Take a stand and grab that record you've been eyeing for the last few months. Seize your destiny.
  14. I doubt contacting the seller within minutes of receiving the order would suddenly quell their paranoia. Report an issue right away and there would be a whole other set of claims. You are asking for a refund without even trying to clean them with a brush or cloth? How can you know they aren't EX if you haven't already played all 8 LPs in full? The quick timing is suspicious. You are trying to scam me ASAP!
  15. The key to "driving guys in" is the "guys" part, not the "driving". Joey Votto has been driving the ball his entire career. The guys in front of him have only done an above average job of getting on base in front of him for maybe two of those years.
  16. Yeah. That's super crazy and out of left field that the OP expected EX/NM records. I wonder what in the world could have given her that idea? Sadly, we will never know. I agree that she needs to buy a $450 record cleaner, subscribe to Spotify, and then only buy new records with better artwork. All these are connected, easy-to-follow thoughts with a clear through line. I like turtles.
  17. Joey Votto having one of the best second halves in modern era baseball history but Reds are in 4th and he doesn't have 100 RBI so no one cares.
  18. I have been using these Amazon-style mailers recently. They are a bit tight and you need to place the record in a certain position to avoid the over-snugness, which is initially annoying, but they do a great job of preventing corner dings because of their overhanging edges. They are 25 mailers for $24 which is cheaper than most other options. If you buy them and want help with how to better fit the records inside, PM me.
  19. I also emailed Dr. Dog (Scott McMicken and Dmitri, the Soild Gold label owner are in the band) but they didn't reply.
  20. I did pm the owner of PIAPTK on here a few months ago. He PMd me back and said "I'm sorry but I don't know where you could get one." I believe he probably didn't have plans at the time to sell the remaining copies, so he was being honest about not knowing where I could get one. Besides, even if he wrote back and offered me one for $75, I wouldn't have been able to afford it anyway.
  21. I don't know if they've done this before or if this is a one time "hey, we found some hidden copies *wink wink*" sale to raise much needed funds. It's their right to benefit from their own production scarcity if that's what they need to do to stay afloat. I only know about it and mention it because my 4 month daily search for that Scott McMicken LP required me to become an obsessive expert at any/all info related to its release. I now sound like a maniac in that thread and here and any place on the internet with info about that release and comments enabled.
