Albums That Should Be Pressed on Vinyl
GalacticMelt replied to chutterhanban's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
The soundtrack to the 2007 film "Across the Universe." Excellent Beatles cover versions. -
I believe both versions have the 10 songs on them only. I wonder why the Pic Disc, however, is a UK pressing and isn't pressed domestically.

Just a personal preference on my part. I purchased a couple of Motorhead LP sets on Back-to-Black, and they both sounded distorted and compressed. Same with the Cure. Again, just my experience with their releases. Others may have better luck, but for me, I'll stay away. -

That Frozen 1 LP picture disc pre-order finally showed up on Amazon here in the U.S.: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MGSTMBC/sr=1-2/qid=1408568458/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&qid=1408568458&sr=1-2 -
It came out on CD back on 2009. IMO, it was one of Robin's greatest performances. It's being re-released, and this time on vinyl for the first time. It's been available for a couple of weeks for PO apparently, but I just found out about it this morning on another site and thought I'd share it here. The talent of the man was incredible. And his comedy helped me through some rough times in my life. I figured I would share the link in case anyone wanted to add it to their collection, which I highly recommend.

I picked up a copy of "Turn it Upside Down" on green vinyl awhile back on Ebay brand new (It was only $5). One of my guilty pleasures.... -
Hey everyone - Many of you are familiar with the progressive rock instrumental band SCALE THE SUMMIT. Chris Letchford, a master guitarist from this band, has released a solo jazz album called "Lightbox." It is now available on digital and CD, and pre-orders are being taken for the vinyl. The vinyl will be available in 5 different colors, each limited to 100 each according to his website. More information can be found here: http://chrisletchford.bigcartel.com/ http://www.scalethesummit.com/chris-solo-album-is-out-now/ Samples are on YouTube. Great stuff !!

I drove from Texas to Chicago in '95 to see Marillion play at the Park West. Brilliant show! All 5 guys signed my favorite Marillion picture disc and Mark Kelly ( the keyboardist ) wrote "Thanks for Coming From Texas." Special memories.

Post Your Record Storage Area

Oh yes, I love those guys. Also love other prog bands like Marillion, Ayreon, Triumvirat, ELP, etc. Also love the harder stuff like Jolly and Devin Townsend. Yep! Com Truise, Steve Hauschildt, Tycho, Zombi, Kraftwerk, etc. I have developed a strong liking for electronic music as of late. As someone mentioned earlier it's sturdy and strong. Good solid piece of furniture to display vinyl and CDs.
