  1. well, its kinda one or the other. patience if i don't want to spend all my money, or all my money if i don't want to be patient. a bunch of these are on ebay right now, but its just ridiculous how the prices of these things have shot up in the past two years. i do already have a handful of SST releases on color that i got for pretty cheap by being patient (record stores are surprisingly pretty uniformed at how popular these have become). and i know there are few people on here that have some of the ones i listed, so i'm hoping some trades can happen.
  2. i've been putting it off for awhile, but i think i want to start tackling the retarded lump of records SST repressed on color in '88 or so. the list below is stuff i know about that i'd like to track down (there are a couple non-color things also). i keep discovering new colors all the time too. who know what all they actually pressed. if anyone knows of more, let me know. and if anyone has some they're willing to part with, let's talk! i'm down for trading. i'm down for buying. yup.... 4. there was a pic once, and i can't find it now, of all the variations of that 7". it was individual shots of all the colors put together into one image. does anyone else remember that? i think the dude from 1234 Go put it up somewhere when he was trying to get rid of some of the leftovers he had. anyway, there were a ton of colors. some were pretty cool though.
  5. there were a shit ton of colors of that st. catherines split. like 12 or something ridiculous.
  6. markalark17 is right. when doghouse repressed it they forgot to amend the sticker and and the first press ones ended up being put on there. there were also a handful of in between colors on the first press that came out very light, smokey baby blue and pink.
  7. the squares are still available on Fat. i'm really surprised.
  8. is it stickered w/ "180 gram," and then its white inside? there were a couple problems with miss-stickering of doghouse releases around that time.
  9. i believe it was on 180 gram black and then regular white.
  10. they were awesome! Great set, new songs ruled! And i didn't know before hand that This Is My Fist was opening. That was a rad surprise.
  11. I was at that show. Good times. I know they also did a small amount (under a 100) of test presses with covers that they sold awhile before the actual press saw the light of day.
  12. thanks a ton!! those unreleased songs are rad! but there weren't any full-band ones. are those somewhere else online?
  13. i would love to hear that stuff. can't wait for the upload. thanks in advance!!
  14. With the lyric sheet they tend to go for around $50-ish. No one knows how many, but only the early copies had the lyric sheet.
  15. Something of note is that the recording is actually pretty different from the real cd. When they signed to epitaph they remixed the whole thing, re-recorded all the bass parts because the original was done before matt joined, and added some back ups. The songs that are missing were recorded later on, but this one has "1000 paper cranes" which they left off the epitaph release. Overall, its kinda rawer sounding. Its not necessarily better, but I kinda dig it ocassionally.
  16. well, they skipped "the daily grind," but otherwise it seems like they're going in order of original release.
  17. does anyone happen to have the new fat wreck newsletter they could paste up here? i've signed up for that thing so many times and yet i never get it. i'm just curious to see all the top 10 lists.
  18. martin, harkening back to your original post and one of your last few, the reason collecting colored vinyl and such has overtaken the desire of just tracking down a record is because its not like it used to be in terms of accessing the actual music. i've been collecting for a long time too, and i remember (and kinda miss) the days when it was about finding records because it was songs you didn't have. but now, with the internet and digital music, nothing music-wise is hard to find. thus why record collecting has turned to the baseball card collecting mentality (which is a very true analogy). i don't think there's anything wrong with it, and if it dies out, then it'll just go back to people wanting records just for the music, so it works for me either way. so yeah, another thing to blame on technology. haha...
  19. i'm bummed about them not using the book's meaning of "i am legend." its such a great idea, and i kept waiting for it. when the chick looked at the pics on the wall of all the ones he'd tested on, i thought that was where they were gonna work it in, but alas.... nope!
  20. they seem to be getting away from the specific time thing. the nofx/propagandhi went up way before 11am pst.
  21. it doesn't say they're out on the Fat site.
