i don't even understand the people saying that a sealed record is even good for flipping... i've been collecting records for a long time, and i've sold my share as well, and i've never seen the sealed-ness of a record make a bit of difference in selling it. a rare record is rare record, plain and simple. if its something people want, its gonna sell (unless its just really messed up). and especially when it comes to colored vinyl, i know that i have a hard time trusting someone selling a sealed record that asserts what color of vinyl it is. i don't want the hassle of it showing up and not being what they said. and as far not playing a rare record... man, it takes a lot of playing for a record to get worn out. a lot. unless you tend to party hard around your record player, you're probably doing more damage to the grooves stacking your records against each other. shit, play it! and to coincide with my point above, if you're worried about selling it down the line... a rare record is a rare record. people don't give a shit if a record has been played, as long as its not totally fucked up, they will pay what its worth.

that's intense man! and judging by the $1000+ livermore got for his white copy, i can imagine you got a great offer for the clear. i'd never even heard of a clear copy! that's awesome.

oh, and on the HWM stuff, my friend has the original painting from the "you can take the boy..." 7". its fucking rad. way smaller than you'd think.

i have the original drawings for the Queers "Look Ma" 7" (by chris applegren) and the "Suck This" 12" (by b-face). i also have the orginal photos used for the cover of the Screeching Weasel "ramones" record and the "happy, horny..." 7". the dude from selfless was selling all that off like 10 years ago, so i picked it up. i also got a few other odds and ends from him.... the test prints of the Weasel/Queers show shirts he made, but on the same material as his tour edition sleeves. the final art that was used for the back cover of SW tour edition... the only thing that was more money than i was willing to pay at the time was the original drawing of the Queers converse logo by b-face. it was like a $150. haha... that seemed like a shit load then. and though not the original art, i ran into chris applegren once and after getting wasted got him to draw me the Queers cat and the Green Day flower. my buddy got the MTX silouette girl. that one was rad.

its nuts, but man, it does not get much better than that 7". my favorite best bad brains release, by far.

okay, talked to doghouse... apparently this was a hasty repress cause the orange went so fast. but!!!! good news.... its opaque red, not clear like the 1st press. and it looks like we may be doing another press in the not-too-distant future, and trust me, that one will be on an easily distinguishable color from the previous presses. so here's the breakdown of all the presses so far in case anyone was wondering... 1st press (2002): 100 clear, 200 clear blue, 700 clear red (there were a handful of change over colors that came out pale baby blue and pink) 2nd press (2003): 500 black, 500 clear green 3rd press (2008): 1000 opaque orange 4th press (2009): 1000 opaque red

this is completely true. he's lost his sense of melody and its such a bummer, though i feel like it began on today's empires. there are still has some great songs on that one, but you could see where he was starting to edge towards just laying his essays on top of songs as opposed to writing lyrics to melodies. less talk is still one of my favorite records ever though. fuck, they were great.

its actually pretty easy. you gotta remember just how popular they were when they were together. and they were always on a major. there were A LOT of those records pressed. you can usually find 'em for pretty cheap. every time i stop at amoeba in LA they have at least a couple of the 7"s for under $10.

"love songs" and "don't back down" are my favorites. The most solid start to finish for me.

i talked to them the other day and it sounded like they were in. haven't seen them myself yet. hope the orange turned out cool.

if you're going for all the little variants, there are UK presses of "into the unknown" and "how could hell..." but that's a nice collection!

man, i didn't even know they had done a 3rd one. i got the first two when they first put them out. of course the 3rd is one that sells out. doh!

finding numbers for lookout stuff is a pretty futile endeavor. its tough enough to even know what all colors certain records were pressed on (and which pressings those colors turned up in). and then there's the one-offs, like the Slappy ep on white livermore ebay'd a few months back (shit went for a grand too! yikes!).
