causeforalarm got a reaction from danthemjfan23 in Copy of Chung King LP sells for $6000 on discogs
They only had like 18 songs. Is it really that hard to find a starting point?
I'd recommend starting with "What It Meant: The Complete Discography".

because just about all the music from that era/genre should stay there.

People who want to make hardcore a sterile, safe environment don't belong in hardcore.
It's never been that. Never will be that. You don't have to intentionally hurt someone, but it will always be an aggressive outlet and that alone will breed violence.

For 9K it'd better play Brand New, PATD, Blink, and Circa at the same time or something

you kids have too many rules. You might be better off in push pits and crowd surfing at pop punk shows.

But then I couldn't list it as "unplayed still sealed" and jack the price up even HIGHER -

All of you are right, but all of you are also wrong. Consider my experience a few months ago, seemingly right out of the pages of an Ian Flemming novel.
So I was in Urban Outfitters casually browsing the LP section, meandering through the day without cause. When I spot 3 copies of Panda Bear's Person Pitch, still in the shrink. I had bought my copy two years before for $12 dollars. These copies were going for $13 each. Note that during this time (few weeks back) Person pitch had become a reclusive gem; some where to be found at concerts and maybe their online site, but individuals selling them through discogs and amazon had them priced at $35-$50 dollars. So, no sooner than I blink, I snatch three copies for a total of less than $45.
Here is where the rub lies, and the discussion begins. Because although it may seem like a moral debate, its simply a behavioral concept that has fashioned itself from every discussion alluding to a seller and a greater fool.
I put each of them up for $100 each on amazon. All three sold within a month, God knows why. The moral of the story is, fuck em.
BTW, I bought a copy of Mondo's The Last of Us for the board, will sell at cost. Just pay shipping for a total of $350ppd.

guitarist says "all lives matter" when talking about police brutality, probably not intended to be racist but it's pretty easy to see how it could be construed that way someone from the crowd says that's racist/dismissive of police targeting black people, a reasonable criticism
guitarist punches them, definitely not a reasonable response
turns out they were trans, people start calling guitarist transphobic, also unreasonable, since the guitarist wasn't aware of it when he threw the punch

Really, I would have been disappointed that Chokehold would have no controversy during this reunion.

Yeah, this place is great for information on what's the latest splatter vinyl currently racking up sales on ebay. As far as actual knowledge, I'm afraid you're in the wrong place.

Basically it's all good. Chung King is unlistenable, but all the songs were rerecorded anyways.

I thought punk/hardcore were about ANYBODY being able to be there and be included. Shrug. What does someone in their 30's know?

I liked it better when I was the only record collector. This shit is stupid and really panders to the lowest common denominator in collecting. Im sure the first releases will be colored vinyl releases of Billy Joel's 52nd Street and Fleetwood Mac's Rumors. I can't wait.

I'm not super into NYHC (please don't kill me). I'm more into hardcore bands like Bane, Comeback Kid, etc. Definitely not dissing Judge by any means though.
