  1. Does anyone have the original 3LP? I found a copy at a local for like $60 a while back and it sounded so fucking unlistenably bad that I returned it. Wondering if it was a one off or pressing wide issue. Pretty sure Helicopter was sourced for that copy from the Guitar Hero DS game or something. Fucking awful.

hyped for this though, totally gonna grab one when it hits retail.

woke up to no link. this is why i don't let myself look forward to things. :(

Sorry, I tried to figure it out and then passed out. I dont know that I've got software to make the music into a "video" right? I couldn't find a way to upload it and went to bed because I have a 9am class. Would a google drive link work if its MP3? I know i can stream audio from there but I'm also on android

I'm with you. Good Mourning is the last of their listenable (non-compilation) album as far as I'm concerned, and quite a step down from the previous stuff. I keep hoping I'm going to dig stuff off the new album, but it's just not quite doing it for me. It's ok, but nothing I'm too concerned about picking up.

This one is okay but not blowing me away. I like a couple tracks on crimson, Agony and Irony is way too produced but it isn't terrible, I actually kinda enjoyed My Shame is True. I dunno, the old records are just something special. Some of my go to I feel like shit and want something cathartic tracks are on there too.

Also Dan signed my copy of Maybe I'll Catch Fire when I saw him open for Say Anything so I can die happy. Dan has the best tracks on that album and anyone who thinks otherwise can square up

You've got a few years before your life goes down that rabbit hole.

She Took Him to the Lake is there so it's all okay :')

It isnt just lyrically with GM, musically it never really clicked with me the way the albums before it did. Skiba's voice isnt my favorite on it but I have no idea what specifically is different. Up through Infirmary I love every track. It's just a bit patchier after that.

The best things to look for at all these places are somewhat obscure jazz and funk/soul records. That's how I usually manage to find gems amongst the garbage! :)

Yeah, this is how I go. There's a record store in town that just assumes all jazz is absolutely worthless and it's the fuckin gold mine. I actually got these two a couple days ago in pretty great shape for a dollar each. The first day they started that bottom dollar bin (four for a dollar if you get four) I pulled out three milk crates worth of expensive jazz and about shat myself. Pretty much all Blue Note/Impulse/Prestige and some of them were a couple hundred dollars a piece. My jazz collection takes up an entire 2x2 and I don't think I have spent more than $15 or so on anything and most of them were dollar bin grabs from that one store.

This one was like VG disc G+ jacket but it plays pretty much dead quiet.

This one was in fantastic shape except for the lamination on the jacket is peeling a little bit.

I was hyped as fuck on these because I had actually been actively looking for a copy of both of these.

I'm 31 and I still have a number of internet friends (all 5-25 years older than me) from a forum I joined the summer before my freshman year of high school. I have zero friends IRL from that long ago...unless you count my friend from first grade who has only been an internet friend for over a decade.

Also, pretty soon 4 years won't feel like any time at all, so enjoy it. Parties suck, but make sure you go to a few and do some stupid shit. You've always seemed like a kid with a good head on his shoulders, so I trust you not to let some rowdy ignorant weekends get in the way of going to class. Good luck, dude. I mean that with 100% sincerity.

Yeah, most people from that long ago in my life are people who I either ended up drifting apart from or cutting out because they're shitty. My friend Will is the only person from freshman year that I really have any desire to speak to anymore but he's one of my closest friends.

Yeah, high school was weird because it felt like a long ass time and literally no time at all. It was a bit of an odd time for me too personally, don't want to get too into it on a public message board because yknow, but most people on here who I was friends with have heard about it to varying degrees. I actually have been meaning to message you for a while but shit kept coming up and I'd forget to. I'll shoot you a message on facebook or something later.

I, too, have quite few internet friends from years of forums and gaming.  Crazy to think I've been on one for 16 years! Half my fucking life.

4 years flies by now. I hate it. As Bruce said, keep a good party/study balance. College parties suck and are cool at the same time.

Yeah, it's weird for sure. @DecayToDeath and I met on here randomly shitting around about SOAD bootlegs like four years ago, it's pretty wild to think that we're good friends now and have flown out across the country to hang out. @NapalmBrain is a babe too, he has put up with far too much of my dumbass kid antics.

Not much of a party guy or anything like that and I've been pretty on top of all my work so far. Got dragged over to a mini party in the room next door last night because Will and I were jamming in my room and they heard us and demanded we play a song. Luckily everyone was not sober enough to realize that we were shit because we hadn't really practiced everything lol. But yeah, not a smoker and I don't drink anymore so I really don't see much reason to go to that shit. At least I didn't get some jackass of a roommate though. Guy I am rooming with is quiet and pretty easy to get along with even if we don't have a ton in common.

Still confused about how little people like the self-titled. Realized there’s a handful on Discogs right now for like $20. Need to grab one eventually.

To me it was a combination of lyrics and the music. Baseball is alright but it runs kinda long and has some filler. The original cut of IARB just hits that sweet spot for me. It's kinda like... progressive pop punk? Song structure is really interesting and all that jazz. One of my favorite tracks is Chia Like. The lyrics hit that sweet spot. For a lot of pop punk stuff there's a very fine line between fun and goofy and cringy, and IARB is on the right side of that line to me. Sure, stuff like Every Man Has a Molly is a little questionable, and I don't know why but I still don't take issue with it. After IARB not only did we get more filler tracks (IDOTG could have been a super okay album if it was a single disc) but... w e w that lyrical content. To me it lost all the fun flippant narcissistic self deprecation, and the S/T is by far the worst offender on this front IMO.

also, we don't talk about Admit It Again. That is a crime against humanity. Taking one of the best album closers I can think of and poking it half way through the A side with forgettable music and terrible lyrics. Big oof.
