  1. If certain things fall into place this will be incredibly exciting for me.
  2. Dave's Records in Chicago is an...interesting place. One week I went in and found a bunch of rad stuff super cheap (not one thing over $10) and the next time I was there anything I was halfway interested in was super overpriced. It's worth picking over the used section but it seems like his new stuff is always priced way higher than it should be.
  3. Someone better grab that Snowing 7"...along with the toehr rad stuff in here.
  4. I'm so conflicted! I'd love to see Snapcase and the Bosstones but I'm really drawn to the Propagandhi show as well. I am definitely going to see Articles of Faith, but I'm not sure which of the other shows I should go to. (I'm trying to not spend a lot of money, hence my dilemma).
  5. I have talked to bands about a suggested Florida string that goes Atlanta, Jax, Orlando, Miami, Tampa, Gainesville, Tallahassee, and then Birmingham, which gives an easy in and out to Florida, but nobody likes it. Bands don't got for this because it is essentially making them spend an entire week in one very small part of the country. Yeah, it'd be cool if someone did it, but at the same time when a touring band has limited time, money and resources I don't think they want to tack an extra week onto their tour just to make sure Florida is taken care of.
  6. Just wear a fedora and say words like insipid. You'll do fine. Done and done! My role requires you liking Alkaline Trio though. I know it'll be tough, but you can do it!
  7. I thought I was to play you? Pssh. How could I pull off you? That is the real question.
  8. The dreams I can remember always take place in color. I have a pretty vivid recollection of a series of recurring dreams I used to have when I was younger.
  9. Perhaps he doesn't but that's how he came across. He more or less said that it's bullshit for a small band to hop on a show and get any money at all.
  10. I definitely see his point. I try to support bands and labels that I love. When I see a band on tour I always try to buy a record or shirt. However, it seemed like he was shitting on new bands for trying ot a build a following. Instead of embracing the community that has allowed him to get to this point he seemed to merely say "fuck you" to every young band trying to make a name for themselves and that bothered me. I guess it's worth noting that I play in four, possibly five bands soon, and I work my ass off to be able to play shows, record, make shirts and all that. We usually play for next to nothing when we support touring acts and that is fine, but to have them treat us like shit for even being there is really disheartening and something that happens all too often.
  11. I'll play you if you play me. That would be all kinds of sexy!
  12. I<3 you too, dan. I'm glad you enjoyed Tigers Jaw, Bobby. I was completely underwhelmed. Perhaps that was because the evening prior Cap'n Jazz fucking killed it and I had high expectations. I just get really bored when it looks like the band would rather be anywhere than on stage.
  13. I saw both of these bands in Chicago last night. Going in I was really excited to see Tigers Jaw and left so disappointed. It was like watching five different people compete to see who could look the most bored playing music...and who could keep their back to the crowd for the longest period of time. The Sidekicks were great, as were Like Bats (the opening band).
  14. I'll place an order with you this weekend. You have some other stuff I've been meaning to get so I might as well just go all out!
  15. I've been contemplating leaving a little early on sunday and try and catch Tigers Jaw, but I guess that depends on the group I'm with what they want to do. I'm kind of interested to see how the Comedy is going to be tomorrow night, its seems like a pretty cool addition. I'm not super excited about all the days but I always seem to enjoy the fest its fairly relaxed as opposed to like Lollapalooza. I haven't decided if I am going or not yet, but I very well may. I'd really like to see Tigers Jaw, but the other bands are all decent to good so it would be worth the $8.
  16. Titus Andronicus is worth freaking out over. I saw them open for Lucero a while back and was blown away. They are a killer live band and the new record is near perfect!
  17. Also, if it's six 7"s for $30 (with shipping) that breaks down to $5 a 7". If they are $3.50 regularly it probably ends up being equal when shipping is factored in.
  18. I went to one of the days last year and it was a killer time. I was considering going but decided to go see Cap'n Jazz, and possibly Tigers Jaw, instead.
  19. Fuck! That's a bummer if it's true. I saw one of their first shows, before Songs was even released and was blown away. It would be a shame if they've already called it a day.
