  1. When I met him I asked about the Alex Jones stuff. He chuckled and said "oh yeah, the fake news stuff". He seemed to view Alex Jones like he (and many) view wrestling, which as many of us know he's big into. It's entertainment. I don't think WPC is a Trump supporter or a fan of anyone who is, but I do think he strongly believes in constitutional rights, in this case free speech. Anyway, I really don't want to get into politics so I'm leaving it at that.
  2. To me there's a difference between being eccentric and treating your dedicated fans like garbage. At the same meet and greet I described earlier there was a guy that flew across the country for this little half-hour acoustic show at Zuzus, brought his Billy Corgan signature Reverend guitar to have autographed, but all he got was "sorry I don't sign guitars." He'd literally given Billy thousands of dollars already, but it was too much for Billy to write his name in return. It just says something about his character. Still looking forward to hearing the album, and the SP reunion, but I have little respect left for the man himself. Done ranting now
  3. I used to read Pitchfork in college when I didn't know any better, but replaced it with Consequence of Sound once I discovered them, they review the same stuff plus more and are much more level headed and agenda-less. I'd recommend checking them out.
  4. Which really pisses me off, because when I paid $300 for one of his meet and greets and drove 7 hours to be there, he wouldn't sign my OG orange Siamese Dream record because "if I sign yours I have to sign everyone's"... "Everyone" being the 10 dedicated fans in the room. That was my 3rd and last time trying to get an autograph from him, especially when he had $250 signed albums on Zuzus website shortly thereafter.
  5. Pretty sure that's his partner Chloe and son Agustus Juppiter on the album cover. Although I thought he was trying pretty hard to keep his son's face from the public...
  6. Color is dope. Hoping that's the same as the bullmoose one I grabbed.
  7. First song from the album and he's already using "lover", no surprise there. Liked it enough to have me looking forward to the album. Preordered vinyl. Wondering if this stuff will sound like that American Gothic EP he put out in 2007, which I thought was pretty good .
  8. He made an Instagram for his new album and posted today with caption "tomorrow" https://www.instagram.com/ogilala/
  9. It's regarding an old hymn "Just As I Am" - more info here https://www.challies.com/articles/hymn-stories-just-as-i-am/
  10. I can connect with a lot of that-- my favorite albums tend to end up being the ones where I learn or hear something new each time and there's lots to explore. Some of my favorite bands took me months or years to "get". When I love an album on first listen I tend to tire of it more quickly. I don't necessarily think that'll happen with Science Fiction, but I hope it doesn't because this thing blew my expectations out of the water.
  11. I honestly am having a hard time picking a favorite. I do really like the trio of Same Logic/Teeth, 137, and Out of Mana, but the whole damn thing is great and I hate to even try to pick one favorite. Regarding the CD, you bet your bippy it'll be blasting in my car on the way to work every day for at least a month. Music is meant to be heard, not pinned to a wall. I've tried to point that out to the reddit community and gotten downvoted hard every time. The hell with 'em.
  12. I could sell you an autographed copy of Peripheral Vision on doublemint/aqua vinyl if you're interested. It's this pressing: https://www.discogs.com/Turnover-Peripheral-Vision/release/7271198
  13. I've never had an issue with them. They have their own mailers that have always been sturdy in my experience.
  14. Wow, they weren't kidding when they said it "might be super rare". Looks like they took the twitter link down too. Really glad I had the day off and was lurking on here. Maybe they'll have more once there's more info on it.
  15. People are allowed to like and dislike whatever they want. I love the album so far but if someone else wants to continue just listening to their older stuff, that's not going to offend me.
  16. So "relevant media" could still mean you're getting a CD. I've ordered other things from them that included a download and it didn't say relevant media.
  17. Question- have those who ordered the standard variant from PMT gotten the "relevant media" on their invoice?
  18. Congrats! You should add your info to this spreadhseet a redditor started: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15OBipS5p1ztGJnB2z0qmNziCz9Bu1ZgD0e6iZ4pWQtw/edit#gid=0
  19. I once had an SRC preorder that got repeatedly delayed and finally shipped to me a YEAR later.
  20. I don't think the system crashed, I think the store was taken down when the "very limited" were gone (about half an hour after they went up for sale), and then re opened for the "limited" pressings. I wonder if only the "very limited" folks are getting CDs. Could 500 orders have come through in 30 mins?
  21. Thanks. So if they sent them in order 1-500, I wont' be expecting one. But maybe they just grabbed from the pile at random?
  22. Really digging the album. Blew my expectations out of the water. Now I'm hoping one of those CDs shows up within a week. I ordered a "Limited Vinyl" shortly after the site went down and back up, put the order through at 12:40 CST on the 15th, the receipt does include "relevant media" so fingers crossed that means CD. Anyone else order around or after that time and get a CD?
  23. I'm ready to finally buy all my Tool vinyl on the exclusive urban outfitters pic disc vinyl!
