  1. Never got why people are so crazy about the seafoam variant when the original Academy Fight Song black pressing is even more rare (/200). I picked one up on ebay 3-ish years ago for $80 and never regretted that.
  2. I had to unsubscribe. Couldn't deal with all the vinyl framed up on walls. Commented a couple times trying to point out the classic "plural of vinyl is vinyl" or tell people they should get those albums on a turntable and crank it loud, and got downvoted. Pretty immature reddit community.
  3. This pisses me off. At least have the decency to announce a time it'll go up for sale so people can get ready and have a fair chance. I have their tweet notifications on for this reason but was working and saw it 30 mins later... gone. Their merch page on their website says "maintenance" so I'm hoping they just got hit so hard their sites went down.
  4. I tried to meet Ryan Adams recently after a show for an autograph. There were 2 other people with me. Apparently 3 people was too much to deal with because he went and got in his van, didn't even acknowledge us. He was playing again the next night but I decided I didn't really care anymore, if he didn't want to sign something I didn't want it.
  5. Just got back from Mew! Holy cow what a show! Go see them if you can!
  6. I was able to see Dino for the first time last year, at a Lollapalooza aftershow only for folks who work with their PR company (got in through a friend that works there), it was a room of about 150 people, Dino cramped onto a small stage, me standing right in front of J with his three marshall full stacks aimed right at my ears. He must not have felt the need to turn the volume down for a smaller room, I'm pretty sure it was just as loud as if he played a typical indoor venue. Lost my hearing for a couple days but it was worth it. At the time I was thinking man he plays in such a sloppy, hurried way, but I assume that's just his style. Here's a pic:
  7. Citizen and Sorority are playing near me too, I should probably go. I was really into Youth for a bit last year. Are they good live?
  8. Pinegrove is great live. Saw em a year or two ago, went to talk to Evan after the show and he just walked up and hugged me like I was an old buddy haha.
  9. Always great to see those bands you never thought would come around. For me that was American Football for a long time, then I got to see them in Chicago last October and again this spring in Minneapolis. Both awesome shows, big dumb smile on my face the whole time.
  10. Saw Ryan Adams recently... played a long and good show, then I waited outside with 2 other people for an autograph afterwards, he saw us and still walked to his van. I'll never understand that... Before that it was Tool. Great show but I hated being sat down on the floor seats. Show was a little short though, I guess Maynard's voice gave out a bit and they took a few songs off the end. Got some more good shows coming up though... U2, Gorillaz, QOTSA, Pinback (2 shows in chicago), and LCD Soundsystem.
  11. Dice, pin, and carrying bag... almost as good as the B-52s box set from that Portlandia skit. (can't find the video. they must not want it on the internet.)
  12. Slowdive seconded. Saw them a couple months ago, absolutely astounding sound live. Almost positive it's going to be show of the year for me and I've still got some shows left-- Gorillaz, QOTSA, LCD Soundsystem, U2, and some smaller bands.... Hard to say LCD won't at least match them though. Still upset I missed MBV though, they came through here the year before I discovered and got really into them. Hoping for that Loveless reissue and a tour... last I heard Shields had mentioned the possibility of a 2017 tour but so far no word on that.
  13. Hi, you had a post from a couple years ago with some talking heads albums. Not sure if you'll even get this message, but if you do I'm interested in Remain in Light.

  14. nothing to see here folks.
  15. Link to Discogs collection I have a handful of signed albums, most are listed here: signed albums It's concert season and tickets are expensive. Would be nice to offset some of that. PM me if you're interested in something. There are things I won't sell but I'll just let you know at that point. Thanks for looking! Shipping would be $3 for 1-2 albums, $5 for 3-4, $6 for 5.
  16. This band kicks ass, loved negative qualities. Apparently the singer's family are gold miners in Alaska or something, and when he's not touring or recording he goes and does that lol
  17. If anyone knows where I can still get a blue copy, let me know....
  18. It's a KL. Who cares if it's "lazy", that's his signature. I'd say it's unique in its simplicity. That being said, I accidentally slept on this, and if anyone happens to have ordered two, I'd happily buy one from ya.
  19. goddamn $40 for an album is ridiculous but my dumb ass is ordering anyway. red looks good and hopefully the signature is an improvement over UU... although that would mean one of them wasn't KL.
