Been meaning to check out Sword Art Online but I plan on seeing Cowboy Bebop, Tokyo Ghoul, FMA: Brotherhood and Samurai Champloo first. On a sidenote, I finally got into and finished Death Note recently (I know, I know, I'm late to the party but I took a decade-long break from anime since I lost interest in middle school). It was on my to-watch list for years and even though I get the ending, I'm not sure if I was fully satisfied by it.
 


 
Fully agree about Kimi no Na Wa and the other Shinkai and Hosoda works you mentioned. Your Name is actually my favorite film of 2016 (and I thought last year had a plethora of great movies), it just blew me away. I hope I can get my hands on the Blu-Ray sooner rather than later.

I subscribed to New Japan World to see WK11 and New Year Dash live last week and I'm so happy I did that. Okada-Omega is legit the greatest match I've ever seen. I mean, it was so good, it clearly stood out among fantastic matches like Naito-Tanahashi, Shibata-Goto and Kushida-Takahashi. I have no idea how Okada and Omega are going to try to top that in their inevitable rematch. I'm actually scared they're gonna kill themselves.
 
Regarding the Royal Rumble, this is probably the most unpredictable Rumble in years. I'd love to see Jericho win, although Balor or Joe would be just as good.

Got into Attack on Titan last week and I'm already a diehard fan now lol. I mean, I saw all the episodes and OVAs (Junior High too), read the chapters and got some merchandise, all in less than a week (the opening themes also make for perfect gym music). A TV show hasn't had that kind of impact on me since Game of Thrones, it really is something else. Season 2 is gonna be fucking insane.

Not for a long time (unfortunately) but I've been getting more and more into it ever since seeing WrestleKingdom 9 and every now and then, I try to catch up with the classics. It's become my favorite product, even above Lucha Underground. This year's G1 was absolutely nuts, there was a new MOTY candidate almost every day.
 
Btw what are you guys' favorite matches of the year? 2016 has been very good to pro wrestling as a whole, there's so much. I'll name ten and try to order them:

That finish was fucking glorious, oh my god. I want to be mad but I just can't. They booked themselves into a corner with Invincible Brock so at this point, this was arguably one of the better solutions, as crazy as it sounds. It made for one hell of a moment and Brock can only benefit from this, now that he fucked up.
 
MOTN was the Men's Survivor Series Tag. It actually nearly went an hour but it never felt like it - it was incredibly well-paced and there were countless highlights, like Shane going fucking ballistic, Ellsworth dying for our chins and Orton being a goddamn machine. I'm so glad Wyatt got to look strong as hell too. 

NXT Boston was incredible. Great matches across the board. I'm very excited for Takeover.
 
Match of the night was definitely Roderick Strong against Cedric Alexander. It was great from start to finish.

This is what they should've done. Instead you don't get to really process either death since they also jump right back to Rick and his situation.

I just love that Owens is HHH's new chosen one, it's such a perfect fit - not to mention that he deserves the spotlight. Adding Jericho to the mix would be pretty cool, too. And I can see Rollins slowly turning face in the process and after Ambrose got his revenge before the draft, there's no point in keeping him heel (especially since everyone wants to cheer him). I think they'll do an underdog story with Zayn, hopefully against Reigns if he wins the US Title.
 
Also, the CWC just keeps blowing my mind. Two absolutely fantastic matches. I don't think Kendrick has ever been better (not to mention him doing Neckbreakers on the ring post and a fucking Burning Hammer).

Really want to check out Neon Genesis: Evangelion. Hope I can get my hands on the DVD sets soon.
 
And I'm on Episode 7 of One Punch Man (watching the English dub, not really a fan of subtitles in anime, at least not for stuff I see for the first time) and I love everything about it.

The Miz will always have my respect. He went from a drunk idiot on a reality show that liked to turn on a pro wrestler persona to a terrible host of the diva search to an alright pro wrestler who has been the World champ and married Maryse.  Living the fucking dream. I can never hate on him.

When my friend told me Summerslam was all about the heels I instantly got upset. I would've been rip Shit if I paid money to attend this event and they call the last two matches. WWE turned into a hug fest since 2003.  They never called matches because of blood. They just need to get out of this pg Era, who gives a Shit about the kids? I grew up watching this in the 90s if you want a pg fighting show go watch power Rangers 

Holy shit, RAW was amazing. I loved everything about it; the overall feel, how the production was handled, the new opening, the commentary table next to the stage, the pre- and post-interviews. They borrowed a lot from the Ruthless Aggression era and modernised it, which is great.
 
I'm still in shock Sasha already got her big moment, fully expected it to happen at SummerSlam. And Balor beating Reigns clean as a whistle? AND facing Rollins for the title at SummerSlam? What a time to be alive.
 
I have mixed feelings about the Universal Title. The name is kinda dumb but RAW needs a top male title if the brand split is gonna be strict. And I think it's clear it's not a proper WHC like the WWE title (even though it's gonna be RAW's main championship) - otherwise, they'd just call it the World Heavyweight Title again, right?

Yeah, I was especially surprised by Johnson and Ali (that Springboard Spanish Fly and that Reverse 450). Da Mack looked pretty good against TJP but he needs to spend more time in wXw before he gets signed. Tozawa's Snap German Suplex looked deadly though, damn. Also happy to see Tajiri back, his kicks are unique. Next week is gonna be crazy.
 
Ultima Lucha Dos as a whole wasn't as great as I wanted it to be but it was still pretty good. Rey vs. Prince was fantastic and the rightful main event. Very glad Mysterio is in the Temple where he has the chance to prove that he can still hang with the best. But holy shit, Pentagon. Holy shit.

Lol turns out I called it. RAW + Cruiserweight Division is an odd pairing but with it being 3 hours, it only makes sense. And with Foley as GM, I guess I won't quit RAW in favour of SmackDown! anytime soon.
 
So wonderful to have Bryan back on the main shows. Man, he truly has a unique connection with the fans.

Yo, I have a favor to ask. They start filming the CWC tonight, and there's obviously gonna be spoilers. Personally, I wanna watch all the matches without knowing the outcome beforehand. All I ask is, that if you're gonna post about the CWC results before the episodes start airing next month, can you toss the spoiler box on it?
 
 
We normally don't have any problems with people posting spoilers for NXT or anything like that. So, it'd be cool if we could have the same thing for the CWC. I'm really stoked for it.

I heard they knew about it before MITB (that's why Rollins beat him cleanly) and still decided to put him in the title match because he'll be back by then. He just won't be part of the build up. Then again, that's vintage Reigns booking (just look at this year's Rumble, dude legit took a nap).
