  1. Loveless Deluxe ordered from the MBK UK site on the 4th just arrived on the west coast of Canada. The mailer was a little beat and the record seemed loose within but surprisingly not even a corner ding. Still have a seam split on the inner sleeve but everything else seems good.
  2. My St Vitus order just arrived after being in a shipping deadzone for over a week. Cover is in better shape than the GJ order but stil has some small tears where the rings sit, as expected the colours are inversed from what I ordered, and unfortunately this time the scuffs and scratches seem pretty heavy across all three parts. I'll have to give it a spin after work and see if it's playable or not.
  3. My shipment from St Vitus has vanished in quebec, arrived there on the 11th and hasn't moved since.
  4. I missed out on this, was there a FLAC download included with it? I really want to listen to Youth Overrided somewhere besides youtube
  5. Up at Saint Vitus. I "signed" an NDA about the HEALTH track a couple days ago but the cat's out of the bag so I can say that I've heard it and it's GOOOOOOOOOD. Not quite the HEALTH x Deftones collab I've wanted since it's only Chino, but it's still awesome. due on 07-16-2021 TRACK LISTING: 01. Mastodon - Forged by Neron 02. Chelsea Wolfe - Diana 03. HEALTH, Tyler Bates - ANTI-LIFE (feat. Chino Moreno) 04. Maria Brink, Andy Biersack, Tyler Bates - Meet Me In Fire 05. Grey Daze - Anything, Anything 06. Rise Against - Broken Dreams, Inc. 07. Manchester Orchestra - Never Ending 08. Denzel Curry - Bad Luck (feat. PlayThatBoiZay) 09. Carach Angren - Operation Compass 10. Starcrawler - Good Time Girl 11. Gunship, Tyler Bates - Berserker 12. 6. and only sold as a bundle, so I'm guessing it's going to be expensive.
  7. loveless deluxe just restocked and I was able to order\ship to canada https://store.mybloodyvalentine.org/release/223063-my-bloody-valentine-loveless and it's sold out again 10 minutes later
  8. yeah, just adding deluxe. I have Distill Web Monitor checking the site every five minutes, it's caught restock a couple times now and I'm checking out within seconds of getting the alert but it never lets me get to the payment screen, always the same message. You can still add to cart for some time after still though, really strange.
  9. hmmmm lame. I can add to cart but when I check out it says "some items can't be shipped to the selected address. we no longer have stock.", like which is it?
  10. so does the MBV store just not ship to north america? deluxe restocked but it won't let me check out, message is vague and won't say if it's actually out of stock or it won't ship to the address I enter.
  11. If the record was clean and free of pops, it would sound great, the recording and mastering sounds good, but at least with mine that was really only evident in the sections loud enough to overpower the background noise and dirt. The quieter parts were very cliche "old timey record effect" sounding.
  12. you might be able to make four or so little wedges to stabilize it, but who knows if these things are even cut in a proper circle. Negron noted above that one ring doesn't fit in properly at all with theirs so it's very inconsistent.
  13. About half way through the new album, I dig it, I think more than In My Blood. Bought the splatter from Bandcamp.
  14. Mine just showed up in Vancouver. The jacket is in ok condition except for the record slots, there are small tears at the edges, the records themselves were a bit loose but relatively in place, but there are still scuffs and what might be a bad scratch on the outer ring. The rings are also super fucking dirty. What bugs me the most is the tolerances of the rings, there's literally a 2mm gap between each one so each ring moves freely, I don't see how this is going to play (I'll find out shortly), really shitty job. Hopefully my order from Vitus is better but I'm not holding my breath. **ok, gave it a listen: -noisy as fuck. I'll need to give it a deep clean at some point. -the wow & flutter is less than I was expecting given how sloppy the rings fit. at least there's no warp! -I'm glad it doesn't transition between rings, the gap would have snapped the needle, but it basically makes it into listening to three 7"s -most annoying record to flip ever? They had it right the first time they released it: this is a record for hanging on your wall, this is not a record for listening. At least it came with the CD?
  15. brutal. this is why I was surprised of the pic showing the way the the rings where in the sleeve, I figured they would slide around and either damage the sleeve or scratch the record. hopefully it's not too widespread and MD will make things right.
  16. It literally went live on StockX on friday, so yeah, it's new. And I never said anyone smart is buying off there, as I mentioned it's 90% travis scott stuff, but people who sell on StockX WILL put in effort or buy up stock to sell on there and inflate prices because they can, which might impact resale elsewhere. If you can get 20% more on StockX, you'll either sell there or increase the price on discogs, it's not rocket science.
  17. Oh yeah, StockX does trading cards too, forgot about that. I'm into sneakers but the group I'm in had sub-sections for cards, toys, gaming etc and literally everything is being bought up to be resold, driving up the prices. some of it has to do with false scarcity with companies knowing that they can make less but earn back more in hype for the next drop. It's something we're used to with records when there are presses of 50-200 sometimes, and I really do appreciate how much "easier" it can be to obtain records in comparison to other things, but over the last year or so it's all just gotten so bad with people taking reselling as a full time "job", worse than I remember ever seeing it. It's kinda depressing.
  18. I'm confused. it actually ships in three pieces? is that what I'm seeing on the right side, dividers for each ring?
  19. That's pretty much my take at the moment, but their endgame is to be a resale market for "everything" so I'll be checking in here and there to see how much it expands
  20. If you don't know StockX, it's a plague on the sneaker industry that has expanded to clothes, then toys like Lego and Funko, then graphics cards & PS5s, and now they're adding records. Basically anything someone can use a bot to buy up and then sell for 2-5x the original value while screwing over people trying to buy at retail is going to be resold on StockX by people that flip things for a living. Will it really make a difference when we have Discogs and the like? Who knows. At the moment it seems to be 90% Travis Scott listings with a 20% markup in comparison to discogs, so the target market are resellers who don't give a shit about what they sell as long as they make a few bucks and Travis Scott fans\hypebeasts that buy a record to hand on their wall next to their Travis Scott Reese Puffs and McNugget pillow. I'm sure that even though they have their "authenticators", StockX doesn't know a damn thing about records. You can only list your ask, there's nothing about record condition to go through or anything, so if it's like sneakers and accessories, everything has to be 100% mint condition no exceptions, which is funny considering how many records come from labels with corner dings, sleeve tears and the occasional warp. Not to mention people are not going to know how to properly ship records. So if you have a stash of mint sealed records from Travis Scott, Kanye or The Weeknd that you want to get rid of, you might be able to make a little more than you would off of Discogs. I hope it stays to just a selection of overhyped gimmick rap releases.
  21. Still no shipping notification and another reminder how awful merch direct is. no account to log into with order history, no way to enter your order# to check status...
  22. I don't know if it counts but I just got in a copy of Bwana - The Capsule's Pride, which is a remix of the Akira soundtrack. been looking for a copy for years but the copies that come up on Discogs are more than I want to spend. I had put a chrome monitor extension on the label's bandcamp page a year or so ago, a few weeks ago my computer woke me up at 1am beeping and they put up a single copy. Pretty happy with a retail score even if the shipping from the UK was the same as the LP.
