  1. I placed a bid but the auction doesn't end for a few hours.
  2. Also, I'd think shooting water towards your electronics and records probably isn't a great idea, either.
  3. I'd never declaw a cat. That's my personal choice based on what I know about it. I was happy to take her in when she needed a home. She's been with me for the majority of her life. I have heard of cats who are in constant pain from the procedure but thought she'd lucked out since she is a happy cat with no apparent issues. I'll never look at her pretend sharpening the same for sure. I'd post a pic of her with my records but she gives no fucks about anything but the couch these days.
  4. One of my cats was declawed by a previous owner as well. She still goes through the action of "sharpening" them on things like the sides of laundry baskets and wicker things. I think she just likes the way the friction feels against her paws. I was always under the impression it's usually un-neutered males that are most likely to do something like piss all over objects that smell like other cats or whatever. I had a female cat that was close to 20 years old before she had to be put down and she'd have accidents in random spots but also use the box too. I think she was a little off her rocker towards the end.
  5. That depends on the cat, primarily. Hah. I've had many over the years. Some are awesome and some are...not awesome.
  6. It happens. It's like giant dust. Static + cat hair = hugeasspain. However, it doesn't hurt the records as far as I know. I make sure nothing is on the records when I play or store them, though.
  7. 355/4000 here and nothing noticeable. Purchased mine via Bullmoose. Maybe that's the difference? It's my first Sigur Ros purchase and I'm pretty pleased with the whole thing.
  8. I have two cats. One doesn't move except to eat and use the litter box. The other jumps up on my record shelves and walks back and forth around the turntable but never bugs any of the records. Worst thing I've experienced is the extra dust/dander but if you're cleaning regularly that shouldn't be a problem. I feel it's important to note that both of my cats are above 10 years old so they're pretty much just soaking up oxygen and begging for warm cuddles at this point. Oh and want to add that protecting them against kids is a much harder job. Opposable thumbs are the work of the devil!
  9. We ended up doing the rehearsal at 11 am which gave us enough time to head out to Mill No. 5. Perfect suggestion. I had my girls with me (5 & 8) and there was a Halloween party going on. Good music, lots of kids and one of the more interesting places I've ever shopped for vinyl. Thanks again! We had a great afternoon.
  10. Awesome. Thanks, guys! I'll have a rental and nowhere to be until around 3 so I should have a good chunk of time to get to one or two of these places. The first link yielded a slew of the Newbury's. Figured that'd be a pretty decent backup plan if local smaller shops didn't turn up. If anything, I'd save myself the shipping cost from the website. Hah. Haven't been up to MA in quite a few years and not since I've been collecting. Appreciate the info.
  11. Looks like that site will be very useful once it fills out. Isn't much better than googling when you aren't familiar with the area. Thanks for the link, though.
  12. I'll be staying here for a wedding this weekend and I have Saturday morning free to explore. Hoping one or a few of you here know of some good places to go digging. Please and thank you!
  13. Yep. I picked it up at the show even though it wasn't a touring edition because I like the association of remembering where I got it but there are more limited (and interesting based on taste) variants available online.
  14. Appreciate the info! Thanks. They're beautifully packaged regardless. Love the artwork.
  15. The weird thing about it is that the grey/aqua variant is listed on discogs as an older pressing than the cat number on the jacket.
  16. Hoping someone here may be able to clarify this for me. I saw CTTS last night and picked up a copy of ATRU and Decomposition. My copy of ATRU is definitely the Grey/Aqua shown on this discogs link but the catalog number for it is clearly the Gatepost 0004 which doesn't have this color variant listed as an option. So at first blush this looks like the record is in the wrong jacket but I've got no idea. It was difficult to hear the Merch girl over their set hah. http://www.discogs.com/Circle-Takes-The-Square-As-The-Roots-Undo/release/6336252
  17. They were amazing last night. I liked them before but their live show is incredible. The copy of Dust and Disquiet they had available was white which is listed as limited but also the retail version. I also picked up a Waking Season which ended up being the forest green swirl. Merch guy - Justin or Josh I believe in my case - couldn't tell me what color prior to purchasing but I wanted it either way. They played with Circle Takes the Square. Excellent show all around.
  18. Apologies for bumping this, but was curious if anyone ever received their signed postcard or any info on the pressings?
  19. Received a sealed copy of Pockets from Discogs yesterday afternoon for 20 dollars. Incredibly stoked to own it. Especially since it appears they aren't going to reissue that one right away. HUGENORMOUS thanks to Mesi for tipping me off. I'm virtually hugging you so hard right now.
