  1. The worst is seeing retail marking up prices straight from the jump. Not even secondary market. I was in Salzer's in Ventura, CA over the weekend and they have RTJ4 for $50.  Still in print straight from the distributor. It's a $35 record but it's getting a considerable markup before it even hit's the secondary market. I've seen the same with sealed RSD releases. Super fucked.

Imagine going into a thread of a person or band you don't listen to or like only to tell people  how much this person or band sucks or is overhyped. On a vinyl collection forum of all places too

Oh stop being so silly. I read this board every day. I love record collecting. Me calling a record boring is only as serious as you take it. This thread could use a little balance from the fomo heavy posts. You can make fun of me when I miss out on the RTJ2 TTL that’s about to come out.

    Reality ≠ discussion board.

Discussions boards serve as platforms to discuss.

Going into a thread to post "zzz" does nothing to facilitate discussion.

I enjoy Phoebe's music when the mood is right, but I can sympathize with anyone who would say her stuff can be a snooze.  That's an opinion and I can respect it, in an actual conversation or exchange of meaningful dialogue.  We're talking about an instance of neither.

I saw that TDWP thread get bumped this morning, abuzz with comments of a new EP.  I could have very easily popped in there to ask why anyone is listening to Hot Topic-core in 2021.  But I see no real benefit from doing so, nor am I starved enough for attention to consider baiting replies with a contribution like that.

It'd be one thing if someone openly asked the board how they felt about Phoebe's music.  But uninitiated it's just weird.  Just because you can, doesn't mean you should, etc.

That’s such a long way to something we all know.

Orange was orange. Records have a large warp but they sound great. GD used to rip.

Yep. Insomniac was peak. Nimrod maybe at the same level, even the b-sides. Warning was a great start for a mature Green Day as they were starting families. Then Billie walked into a hot topic during a lightning storm and a fracture in the space time continuum sent us to an alternate reality.

Yours had the distortion and a good clean got rid of it? Im waiting on new fluid so I haven't been able to give it a proper clean. I've had static heavy records before, looking at you Lakeshore Hellraiser, but never heard distortion like this.

Correct. So much that I thought it was maybe a part of the song. It was so prominent. Listened to the digital version, no distortion. Checked the needle as it was playing expecting a hair or something but it was clean. Let the record complete. Wiped it down and put it away. Took it out the next time and wiped it down and it was perfect no distortion at all.

Seems like this is a crapshoot across all pressings. My Mondo copy is actually really good. A few crackles here and there but mostly quiet with no warp. The Newbury clear is not good. Surface noise gets really bad starting with track 2, side 2, and it's got these random moments of distortion throughout. Like for a few seconds it sounds like the needle trapped a bunch of lint or something.

Mine was the same on the first spin but after a wipe, it’s perfect.

  7. Stumbled upon this record and happily paid full price on their bandcamp but right now it's $9  $14 on amazon. It's a sweet deal. If you're fan of Alvvays and waiting for their next record, I think you'd dig it. Or just a fan of good tunes. You're either going to like it, hate it, or think it's ok.

EDIT: Price went up. Still a good album but maybe not post worthy at this point so happy to let this fade away or get deleted.

Okay, I'll bite on your initial response. You're right, I should have known better than to express an opinion that might be deemed stupid. Sarah Everard should have known better than to be walking home alone at night too, right? Exact same logic. "You should have know what was going to happen."

Also, reading comprehension is important. Go back and read my posts - I never once claimed to be the victim of "people making fun of me." I spoke generally about anonymous dickotry on the internet and demonstrated how I respond when I am the target of random internet mockery.
