Asked the distro at my local Woodman's why they didn't carry any of the Bottled in Bond varieties of the bourbons at the store.  Two weeks later, there are three new Bottled in Bond bourbons with their own little section.  I grabbed the Very Old Barton BiB 100 proof for $12.99, and it is fucking delicious.

I've never even thought to glance at the whiskey at Woodman's as I'm usually overwhelmed at the sheer quantity of alcohol in the place. Gonna be on the lookout next time!

That blows, are you at least making it this time (hopefully)? Last time I caught them they were opening for Say Anything with Teen Suicide and someone else. They were by far the most solid set. I really enjoy Teen Suicide's first album (actually randomly got the original press really cheap not too long ago) but just couldn't dig the new one very much at all.

Poor @DOMAN127 is coming out over spring break in April and missing all of the cool shit by a few days.

Missed them a couple weeks back - would have been a 3-4 hour drive one way, and still broke as fuck from CO  (and need to save for Dominican/Orlando in a little over a month D: )

I've always worn vans, and hope to never change it. Sometimes I will put inserts in them, and it helps. I just hate the look of every shoe that have support.

I sometimes put inserts in to accommodate the authentic pros not coming in my size. Damn lady feet.

Turnover and mwY have been great the past time I saw them, so I'm excited. I actually missed the Juturna tour back when that was a thing because The Fall of Troy was doing a Doppelganger 10 year on the same night and the tickets were cheaper at a smaller venue.  mwY should be playing some older material since that EP was a thing, so if I get anything off of A>B there's a fair chance I die before Circa comes on.

Also got a Give Up the Ghost old shirt from the We're Down Till We're Underground tour that will be here in time for the show so that automatically makes me the coolest fucker in the venue.

I never listened to Circa all that much. mwY had to be mentioned as I've been listening to them since before you made it out of primary :P and I've somehow missed every show that has come near me. I still have multiple unused tickets just sitting in a drawer taunting me

I told my friend not to wear Vans to the AFI show on Friday and he did anyway. We were standing from about 45min before doors until a little before midnight and he proceeded to bitch about it in the car home. Flat shoes will fuck your shit up.

I told him though "you're either going to listen to my advice or learn the hard way. I learned all this shit on my own over the past year or two." so at least he prefaced with "well, I learned the hard way..." hahaha. Bit of a weird motherfucker but a cool dude. He's my buddy for the Circa/mwY/Turnover on Sunday too

I'm on my feet usually 8 hours a day without a break, and I'm ordering a new pair of Vans anyway. Skate life > work life.

Also, it breaks my heart that you're seeing mwY and Turnover before me.

Debating driving up to Detroit in a few weeks for the Portugal. The Man show, since they are missing Ohio this time around. Never been there, kinda excited to check it out. I'd rather go to the Pittsburgh show, since I know the area around the venue, but it is on a Monday night :(.

Don't overthink it. Just go and enjoy yourself :D

    Sam & Dave

I'm sorry I don't have experience with that it might be more cost effective to just buy another pair of leggings?

Sounds like a good choice. Pandora turned me on to Leon Bridges this past week and I've been digging that, as far as new soul/R&B goes.

Internet proved itself to be worth something - found a hint that paper bag+iron can remove it. Was a successful endeavor.

    Nice! Sounds exciting.

No plans, just going to do nothing all weekend and it's going to be amazing. I might try to go out Saturday night, since my birthday is next week, but that's only if no one is busy (which most people are these days :(. Guess that happens too often in your 30's).

Do nothing, relax, take it easy - all that good stuff! Make them be busy for you ;) It happens a lot at 24, but I realize if I give people at least a day of notice, chances are typically higher. Reach out today T!

Thought I'd throw up an update on the 12 month project

    • Lexington Bourbon While this was the bourbon that started me on this quest, I replaced it in the line-up today with a bottle of Elmer T. Lee that I happened to be lucky enough to grab :)
    • Willett Pot Still Reserve Bourbon
    • Old Weller Antique 107 Bourbon
    • Rittenhouse Rye Bottled in Bond
    • Whistlepig Rye 10 year
    • Clynelish 14 Scotch
    • Lagavulin 16 Scotch
    • Aberlour A'bunadh batch 53 Scotch
    • Hibiki Harmony Whiskey (Japan)
    • Nikka Coffey Grain Whiskey (Japan)

If I can find a damn Yamazaki 12 year that's the ideal finisher to the Japanese whiskeys, and I'm thinking about Michter's rye to finish off that batch.

You're a hero. Very jealous/impressed with this endeavor! Glad to see you picked up that Willett ;)

  9. Evening everyone - how's it hanging?

Tonight was the 2nd day in  a row where I had a customer call in a huge order 10 minutes before close, and it was the same person. Had to stay 45 minutes late, and both nights he told me, "You really need to smile, you know." And proceeded to tip me $0.02.

I snapped a picture of his address from the check he paid with and will be dropping off our hours of operation for him.

And maybe a flaming bag of shit.

hello hello.  so i got the job i had applied for last week!!!!!!!  Pretty nervous about it since I start in a few weeks and I need to relocate. But maybe this will be a good thing. It's 12 weeks as an intern and if i do well, it's very possible I could be offered a fulltime spot.  i am very very very nervous.

Congratulations!!! So exciting! :D You're going to kick all the butt

  11. Hey guys <3

Hope everyone's night is going well. Hopping on that sick boat with you fellas :( past week of fever and cough from hell doesn't feel the best next to a pizza oven, but oh well - we'll keep powering through!

I will admit to not having had the best start to the year so far, but just holding out for a turn around and pushing myself to try and make things better!

@Bladewillisisdead Falafel is fucking awesome. Killer girlfriend status.
