Unrelated : anyone have good suggestions for turntable lighting? The area around mine is fairly dark and I just need some mild light. I was thinking rope lighting or something, but I dunno.
Twinkle lights are always fun, and provide a surprising amount of brightness.

We have a place here that does vegan poutine, but I haven't tried it yet.
What's the place? May try to check it out!

So I've gone over a year without much in the way of prospects as far as jobs go, and now this week I have not only an interview in Seattle, but a phone interview as well for a job in Denver with a company I used to work for...
I don't know what to make of this.

I want to go. There's just a few things preventing it right now, but I started planning it in the meantime.
Plus poutine

Seriously thinking of moving to Montreal.
Do it. Loved it there the few times I visited, and it's the perfect mix of European/North American goodness.

Got around to seeing Get Out this past week, and while I thought it was pretty good after the fact - the dark humor was stellar - I left the theatre saying "What the fuck did I just watch?"
Additionally, the only people in the theatre were my friend and I, and some 50-something man in a large woman's fur coat, so that may have added to the weirdness...

@BuzzersonKillwell @tarzioo_ Thank you! I don't have exact dates yet but should be confirming tomorrow! Coffee/record hunting mayhaps?

Babes! This girl is heading to Seattle next week for the final interview! Ha-cha!

Anyone know any work from home jobs/sites? I really need to clear my head for a bit, and I think doing that would be perfect. I don't care what it is, and can get a landline for customer service or whatever.
For supplemental cash to your job? I did Amazon Turk surveys in college. Wasn't much - mostly mindless stuff, but it netted about $100 a month for barely any time/effort.

We were making green smoothies with protein powder for awhile and still will sometimes, but this is so much faster/easier.
That PB2 stuff is dope. I used to get free jars of it from the job I had like 6 years ago. Now I just throw a shit load of actual peanut butter in my smoothies.
Looking at it online, do you just make a pitcher of it? How long does it stay "good"?
Nut butters are my life blood.
And coffee.

We got our first shipment of Soylent (powder) today. The plan is to use it to replace one meal a day. The way our schedules are makes it really hard to prep lunch, so most of the time we say fuck it and eat out. It works out to about $1.50 a day each, which is way fucking cheaper than even just grabbing fast food.
If you've ever made your own bread, it tastes like bread batter. It's really weird but not unpleasant.
Sounds interesting! I recently have been replacing a meal with Vega Protein + Greens mixed with Orgain Protein Almond Milk and PB2. Tastes pretty good (peanut butter + chocolate), but seems expensive, because the Orgain is like $4 a carton for 5 servings :/

I'm sure I bring it on myself, and then the disease kicks in and makes it worse. They do take awhile. It's the same meds I was on before, it's just been about 6 months and now the dosage is different.
Amazon seems like a cool place to work, as long as you're not in a warehouse. One day I will make it out there for sure, one day.
Maybe, maybe not. Suffering from the occasional anxiety attack or depression funk, I know a lot of it becomes cyclical - beating yourself up about it isn't necessary.
I'll be in a cubicle it looks like if I do score the gig, which, while not a dream, is better than slinging 'za. Plus, ya know, Seattle > backwoods Michigan

Ugh, doctor put me on new meds for anxiety and I feel terrible. I'm a walking panic attack 24/7. It's not fun. Fumbled through work yesterday, and am today too. Hopefully these pills do what they are supposed to soon. No clue why it came back so bad so quickly.
Good luck on the Amazon job Dea!
Feel better T! You seem to get the short end of the stick a lot - I know with meds like that, they tend to take a while for your body to adjust, don't they? Hoping it's sooner rather than later.
And thank you! Hopefully we both are able to make it out there for better avenues haha

nice!! I'm excited there is a big VC population in Seattle! I've only been here a few weeks but I recommend going to Molly Moon. It.is.amazing . http://www.mollymoon.com/flavors
why type of role are you applying for? I hear Amazon is pretty cool to work at. I've only managed to visit one of their buildings here but it was really nice inside.
I loved it when I visited last year - been trying to make a move since haha. And yes! VC NW is the best!
Brand Specialist - sounds a lot like marketing I believe? I'm really not 100% - but my cousin works there and loves it. She got the chance to meet Aaron Paul and I will be forever jealous.
Much yum to the ice cream - I can dig it! If you are interested, The Highline in Capitol Hill has some awesome vegan dishes, and solid music choices.

I'm actually not a huge fan of Near Dark. Paxton fucking kills it though and Lance Henrickson is always dope. I just didn't dig it much outside of their two performances. I really hated the two leads. Of course, Paxton is so fun in it that I'd still recommend everyone check it out.
For reference I sent Rez Eraserhead, Magnolia, There Will Be Blood, and Rosemary's Baby.
@Holo , if you don't watch all of those absolutely perfect movies, I'll personally fly to Arizona and punch you in the schnoz.
Good evening darlings! <3
I got word today that I'm being considered for a position at Amazon, and have officially started the interview process. Fingers crossed!

What's that?
Way to book parking on the cheap, prior to an event. Think I saved myself hundreds of dollars in the past couple years with it (especially in Chicago).

There's a venue downtown I refuse to go to because the parking is retarded. They charge $5 parking in the lot any time other than when there's a show but up it to $15. At the Marquee at least they note that parking is $10 night of the show on the ticket. I got down and didn't have cash so I had to go by the bank and then was way back in line. There isn't even anywhere else to park and walk. And of course during Chon's set a fight in the pit starts over some dude's bag of coke. Then they went after random people and security guys. Takes entire security staff qnd some other big dudes to hold the fuckers down until the police came. It was a fucking mess.
SpotHero makes life easier, pal.

I saw them at the same place American Nightmare played and it was not the best live set but by no means was bad
That sucks, but can't blame you. I turned down protest the hero and ETID for that drive which bums me the fuck out.
What size shoe? I wear a men's 12 hahaha
Size 7-7.5 women's. Or 5-5.5 men's/child's.
To be fair, every show I go to is usually a 3.5-9 hour drive one way.

I just had to buy some nice inserts for my work shoes. Pretty sure I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot. Every step I take is beyond painful sometimes. Really hoping these help. Not to mention the slipped disc in my back on my sciatic nerve on my left side. I guess working high volume and being on my feet for the last 10+ years is finally catching up to me.
fixed it

I know someone mentioned it not too long ago, but maybe try starting your morning off slow with a warm cup of tea and some yoga, or the very least, breathing exercises. I know it's never fun feeling crummy - especially when you're up all night - but finding time to calm your body could help with the anxiety and nausea.
