  1. Because one way is a pretty lame reason to buy a record and the other shows that you are enjoying the music. Lame because you are speculating flipping the record or feel so inadequate that you basically need it for some rare record dick measuring contest.
  2. I see it more as a fun promotion of the album and a way to drive traffic to record stores. It's the people who flip their shit about it being rare that makes record collecting so unbearable. Sure the label feeds into it, but really it's the consumers who are to blame. I don't see how stores wouldn't know about this seeing a as it's coming from distributors. It was probably their choice to order it or not. At the end of the day, it's the same version that's coming out next week. I bet you can get this at slightly more than a retail version in a couple of months.
  3. Pretty sure it's just a couple of dudes running the place. It may take a few days.
  4. Did you buy it because it was limited or did you buy it because it was a unique release from an awesome band?
  5. It's legit. They just do it to create a buzz or reward fans who collect and certainly to reward independent stores. They call it a bootleg version because the look of the packaging is supposed to be like a barebones bootleg. I got the Jason Isbell "bootleg edition" it's a brown sleeve with a spraypainted stencil of the album title and his name. It's nothing fancy just unique. E record is the exact same as the retail version. But these "bootleg" editions are legit.
  6. I think their hand was forced because Jay mentioned it during his press tour and outlets picked up on the story. So they made a press release rather than denying or staying quiet letting people know that one was coming. This reaction is probably why they don't announce stuff so far in advance because they obviously have their own timetable.
  7. It may have said 250 from the get go and I fucked up.
  8. Fuzz is up. LP has some on blue some on clear (/300 & /500) Deluxe LP is $50 and is on Clear black splatter (/200) 7" is on blue (/200)
  9. The only way to know for certain without opening it was if it had the TMR cat #.
  10. This may sound like a stupid question, but are you certain you bought the RSD version of Elephant and not the darker cover, XL European pressing that had a repress a couple years back and was everywhere?
  11. Probably trying to claim a scam because the black ones just hit stores.
  12. They were limited to one per order. But you could place several orders. Probably had to do with shipping costs.
  13. For an album that is 20 years old and that I own a few copies of, I'm dying for a leak of this. I really want to hear this 2013 mix.
  14. I'd love for him to press all these live shows he's been including with orders. I know he did Union Chapel a few years back, but I feel like there has been 4-5 since. A box would be great. Like Little Drummer Boy.
  15. if this album has several 7-8 min songs, I'm now definitely concerned with how this thing is going to be cut to only 2 records.
