The RSD version is the first TMR pressing. Anything before that was on XL or V2. I think XL had done another pressing in the past coupe of years because it seemed to be everywhere (it's got the darker cover), so maybe you are thinking of that? But it would make sense if the TMR version was different than the XL version. I have the V2 and the TMR and I can't really tell the difference. But the TMR pressing is the nice of the two.

I wouldn't be surprised if the run of this set is significantly smaller than MCIS, so perhaps the cost per unit is more and would then reflect in a higher price. But I'm sure its possible that it was also knocked up a few bucks too because people would love to have these tracks on vinyl.

So this must be the regular pressing of the RSD reissue.

The first pressing of Hair was on white vinyl, every other pressing has been on black. It's possible they may do something like that again, but is other 2 DC releases have been standard.

So its like most major label vinyl releases, except they aren't committing to producing a LP if its not gonna sell. Sounds like a fine business strategy. And really the only downsides are 1) you may pay a bit more for a record than what a normal record could cost 2) The record doesn't get the funding and doesn't get produced. Its pretty smart on Universals part actually. I hope it happens.
