I'm in the US, but Amazon seems to have significantly improved their packing of vinyl. whether it's packed well enough for a transatlantic journey, I'm not sure, but the four records I got from them last week (all shipped separately from two different distribution centers) arrived perfectly fine.

at the risk of looking really stupid, what is the point of having a sleeve on there? protecting the record sleeve and/or the record itself from "the elements"? I do put nearly all my records (i.e., the good ones) in poly inner sleeves (either the paper/poly ones or the clear ones), which I assume do something other than help keep stuff off the records...?

am I the only one who clicked on this expecting it to be a fundraiser?

off topic, but did anyone else see tenement at the triple rock w/ screeching weasel? "memorable" is a word that comes to mind...

So I my gf showed me these and I said yeah those look good, what are the dimensions. She then told me oh nevermind they're not big enough... balls. Ok well this was a waste of a thread, thank you to anyone who helped. 13"x13"x15", I think (plenty big). you mean they need to be deeper to keep them away from the pets? you could always just put the records on a higher shelf

I know what you mean... every time I think I know what's going on, another color seemingly comes out of nowhere. they're sneaky, damnit! emailed mike from asian man, and it looks like the opaque/marble orange is the hot topic exclusive. supposedly there aren't any others out there... *fingers crossed*

+ I'm nearly done writing my Master's paper after 3 weeks of writing and 2 months or so of work (doesn't sound like much, but it's been my "full-time" job for summer) - if my committee doesn't like it or my presentation in two weeks, I get a paycut (instead of a raise) until it's sufficiently good and I lose a chunk of free money +/- (depends how you look at it) Pepsi's on sale at Rainbow Foods this week

I think people mainly like(d) their guitarists (least that's why I liked them back in the day)

I feel like avenged sevenfold was pretty big after "waking the fallen", then they kind of plateaued after that when shadows' voice/singing style changed on "city of evil"... I don't know how popular their last album was (the s/t one), but then the drummer died earlier this year, so that probably helped bring attention away from shadows' singing and their man-crush on george w. bush and helped boost their sales

sucky indeed... I remember looking at the myspace page thinking "why would I want it on vinyl?" oh, how times have changed...

People were disappointed in the way the vinyl was released. Read the thread to see the shenanigans. I'll take my karma hit and save the time. If it's the way it was released (seems like complicated numbering, no artwork, etc.), then I'm with you, but if it's the musical quality of the release that's in question, then I'd have to disagree

where's ignite record store, and how many colors are out there? clear blue (AM), clear green (AM), clear blue w/ black (SRC), opaque sky blue (IP), clear orange (retail), orange w/ blue (? HT), black, and marble orange?

people were disappointed with Patent Pending? I think I enjoy it start to finish as much as (if not more) than any alkaline trio release... granted, this might be due to over-listening to alkaline trio over the past 6 years or so, but Patent Pending never gets old to me. to each their own, I guess...
