  1. So there is this..... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/northkorea/9849231/North-Korea-video-shows-US-city-under-attack.html I don't see how a comedy movie is any different.
  2. I'm getting a highland park 12 for christmas this year. It will kinda be my first foray into scotch. I bought a bottle of monkey shoulder about a year ago to see if I liked scotch or not, and I do. Not much of a fan of bourbons though. I'm more of an irish whiskey person. I have a 12 year Redbreast Cask Strength that is the best thing I have tasted so far. I think my favorite cheap irish whiskey is tullamore dew.
  3. I am using the Sonos Control:Amp along with a Denon DP300f and Wharfedale diamond 10.1. That way I can listen to records throughout the house without it being stupid loud from the source. I can also play digital music in the office as well. My system sounds really good, but I could see where a dedicated record playing setup would be better. In all honesty Sonos is pretty expensive if all you want to do is expand your music from one room to the next as you are going to need 2 sonos devices to do that, and neither is cheap. Office - Connect Amp connected to turntable Living Room - Connect Amp connected to home theater Kitchen - Play 1 Dining Room - Play 5 Master Bath - Play 1 This summer I have plans to set up outdoor speakers by the pool with another Connect Amp. I personally do not like the sound of the Play 3, and haven't thought of any reason to have one of them.
  4. Wealthy is all relative. Being in America (or any developed country), and pretty much being able to post things to this board using a computer or smart phone already puts you pretty high up on the global wealth chart. I'm not trying to bring anyone down and make you feel like crap. I'm just saying that we should all be appreciative for what we have and not feel inadequate for what others may have. http://www.givingwhatwecan.org/get-involved/how-rich-am-i
  5. I think you guys all forgot about dre. I looked it up that he has released two albums since 1992. Detox would be a third. I have heard that he has created and scrapped detox a couple times. It seems the last two chronic albums were both iconic albums. The last one is still relevant.
  6. When I sell anything, I try to get top dollar for it within reason and know that selling at a lesser price will have a faster turnaround and sometimes I would rather sell it quickly than for top dollar. When I buy anything I try to get as low of a price as I can. Anyone who doesn't do that obviously doesn't understand how marketing works. Someone somewhere probably sat down and set a price that they think is the amount of money that will sell an amount of records at a certain price that will net them the largest return. If so, then good on them. If you don't like the price, then don't buy it. America has a really bad entitlement issue where everyone thinks that they are owed something.
  7. I just want the record at the cheapest place I can get it. Sorry that was too much to ask for. Is the Coheed website the cheapest place to get this? Is the 180 gram version the one that is on Amazon for $60?
  8. I like the Diamond 10.1's and got them and the speaker stands for $400 shipped because they were open box or something like that. They sound really nice and have more and clearer sounding bass than I was expecting. To be honest, I didn't demo different speakers or anything like that. I just went with the internet general consensus that they are really good speakers for their price range. What they replaced was nothing special so I don't have anything to compare them to.
  9. Closed and open. The wife and I liked how it showed some records, but it wasn't overwhelming.
  10. Denon DP300-F Sonos Connect Amp Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 Wharfedale Diamond speaker stands Sorry for the crappy camera phone pic.
  11. I finally have my setup done. In addition to this I have a sonos play 5 in the dining room, a sonos play 1 in the kitchen, a sonos play 1 in the master bathroom, and a sonos connect hooked up to my home theater set up. I can now play records throughout the house. The plan is to set up the outdoor patio pool area to have outdoor speakers, but that will probably wait till next summer. 12. Something that I am pretty stoked about with having a busy schedule, small kids, and a big house is a sonos system. That way we can listen to music seamlessly throughout the house while cooking, playing (hide and go seek mainly), and relaxing by/in the pool. Your current system is pretty nice, and the sonos sound quality would be lacking in audio regards (sonos sounds really nice for what it is). However, it makes up for it with versatility. It is pretty easy to connect your hifi set up to it with a sonos connect. http://www.amazon.com/SONOS-Wireless-Streaming-Receiver-Component/dp/B001CROHX6 And then start placing the speakers around the house.
  13. I started following Thursday in the early Full Collapse era. That album had a major role in the music being made during that time. It still holds up after all these years. They definitely have a more mature sound after that for whatever it's worth. I guess it is like how some people think that Fugazi is amazing and I think it is a snore fest. I probably had to have been there in that era to understand.
  14. This is why my wife and I don't watch the walking dead anymore. A little girl becoming a zombie and having to kill her was what did us in. Also, google commercials make me cry....
  15. I guess she likes how he is an honest guy. I heard they are hard to find.
  16. I saw 2008 coming, I figured it was going to be the year after 2007. In all seriousness though, like thebiglebowski mentioned. A home is a place to live, it is not an investment. I just hope that my home doesn't lose money and keeps up with inflation. That is just a hope. If it doesn't do that then I will still have a home that I can live in that I am happy with the price that I paid for it at the time I paid for it. I saw two things that others said above I'll give my input on as well. Someone said not to fall in love with a home, and that is somewhat true, but in a way that isn't too bad either. If a home is EVERYTHING that you want in a home (location, price, amenities, size, etc.) without any major issues and you can not find anything that compares to it then it would be silly to buy something else just because you could get a better deal. My wife used to always buy clothes that she wouldn't wear because of how cheap they were. She ended up with a closet full of crap that never got worn. I convinced her to only buy clothes that she really liked and if they didn't fit the way she wanted or didn't love it to either take it back or don't buy it in the first place. In the end she spends more money per item but about the same amount overall on clothes per year. I think the main points in that not to fall in love with a home is that if it is out of your budget or you keep getting red flags everywhere you have to be able to walk away and find something in your budget, and the other point is that that it isn't the only house for sale. When we bought our house we were only seriously considering our house. We were willing to pay more than what we ended up paying for it. If things fell through though we were willing to walk away and look again in 6 months. We didn't like anything else in the area and we weren't going to buy a house just because we felt like we had to. Here is a bit of negotiating advice, where someone gave pretty crappy advice up above. If you want something AT a price that you think is a reasonable price that you could see them honestly taking, then you start BELOW that price, and then they will counter ad ABOVE that price and then hope to work your way to the price that you think is fair. I love this scene
  17. Also, I really liked the first Sin City, so I would assume that I would like this one as well. I don't know if I will see it in the theater though. I've seen a couple movies in 3d. I only remember Avatar being good in 3d and the others just annoying.
