  1. One time I saw the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises. Seeing the typical crowd that went to that, getting to bed at like 4AM, waking up at 6:45AM and having to go work my adult job that is my career. Now I see a movie in a movie theater once or twice a year. Having small children definitely puts a damper on movie going.
  2. I don't know what Brienne was going to do with Arya. Where was she going to take her? Like the hound said, what place is safe? She didn't ask Arya if she wanted to even go with her. It seems to me that Arya was safest next to the hound.
  3. Yea, what Lars said. I didn't figure it out, until my wife said something about asking what room she was in. Didn't she say something like "my lion" and then saw Tyrion and was shocked.
  4. yea, I hadn't seen him since highshool (13 years ago) and he was really annoying on facebook. Talked shit about our hometown in a holier than thou way all the time. Bragged about himself all the time. He also left facebook for like a year, came back and posted. "I am back on facebook, looks like I didn't miss anything".....So then when he posted GOT spoilers it was the last straw. Here are some of the things I "missed", but thanks for putting me in my place Guys, will you please check your spelling before posting things.. Where and were do not mean the same thing The lifting and strength training has begun. Weight may come back up a little, but no adjustment to low carb/paleo, so we shall see. 5. I had a friend from highschool on facebook and the Monday morning after Joffrey died the asshole posted on facebook about how he was glad Joffrey was dead. I hit the unfriend button pretty quickly. I mean seriously, what kind of dickwad does that? Not everyone can stay up late on a Sunday night watching GOT. I have been coming in here and I haven't been too upset about spoilers and people have been doing that fancy spoiler drop down thing pretty good. The only thing I want to comment on is that when someone puts something in a spoiler, doesn't mean it is open to talk about in the normal forum.

  7. My laziness is what prevents me from listening to records compared to just throwing something on my sonos. So yea, having to get up every time I want to hear a different song is pretty lame. Plus I never know if I need to jump up real fast to take care of my daughter/wife/dog/cats. I think I have less than 25 7" and around 150 LP's. Plus like others have said, I care less about the fidelity of my music the more it gets into the metal/hardcore/punk realm.
  8. where does "fucking good" rank in the list of "meh", "good", "very good", "amazingly good", and "holy shitballs amaz0rs good"?
  9. Get a VPN account, that's what I did when I was in China a couple weeks ago.
  10. In what way did you have your issue? Was it a public tracker? I have had good luck as long as I stay on private trackers.
  11. This actually made me happy for him. He got what he wanted and it cost him his life. Maybe if he had been asked ahead of time if he could have his answer and it would cost his life he might have still done it. Still probably wouldn't want to go out the way he did if he had a choice. I just went from being happy the short dude was gonna walk to then realizing he is gonna die and I really like his character.....but I have really liked a lot of the characters in the story and have learned by now to not get too attached to any one of them.
  12. I am not sympathetic to misgendered people wanting to be called whatever they want. I see the world in many shades of grey and can see both sides of pretty much any argument. But when I see white, and someone tells me that it is in fact black because they choose to be black I disregard them as being crazy to keep my own sanity. Maybe I am just a rube/idiot/bigot, and if so then so be it. Sometimes I feel like we have come a long way as a human race and have a long ways to go, and sometimes I feel like we are too PC for our own good. I do not discriminate or try to put anyone down, and wish and hope for everyone to live their life as they choose as long as it does not hurt myself or others. To say "it" is just hurtful and mean and I do not see any humor in it.
  13. Very sad. The fact that the mom was there in such short time shows how close she was. I have an uncle that was staying with my grandma and had a chow and it would constantly fight other dogs and attack my cousins who were around the ages of 5 to 12 at the time. I never really thought too highly of them. I have heard that they have a problem in being single owner dogs and need to be socialized more than other breeds. What it was doing out of it's house/yard I do not know and is the fault of irresponsible owners. I have a pit-mix and was worried that this was going to be another pit-bull bashing. My dog is a great dog and has been jumped by spitz/chow/husky/lab breeds multiple times. However many times when there is a dog attack it is labeled as a pit-bull whether that is it's breed or not. It is extremely sad that the dog had to be put down, but for every one of these a-hole dogs that thinks it's cool to jump kids on trikes, there are 10 others that are being put to sleep just because no one wants them. A pet peeve of mine is when people will adopt an animal because it has a deformity or was in an accident or something and they feel sorry for it so they adopt a 3 legged dog or whatever and my response is "so instead a perfectly fine 4 legged dog was put to sleep". Sorry for the rant. Oh and I parent better than all ya'll, and my dad can beat up your dad. My mom can beat up your mom too.
  14. I hate to say it, but this is not the kind of woman that you can have a future with or want to have a future with. What is to say that you keep it together, get married, have kids, and she decides "meh, I don't want to live with you anymore" on a whim. I say just break it off now instead of being in misery for even longer.
  15. Post-Hardcore, Punk (mostly melodic hardcore), Pop Punk, Metal, Gangsta rap, a few nostalgic pieces
  16. Are these organic free range natural receivers? cuz I am not buying them if they are not.
  17. A home is a place to live first and foremost. It is not an investment. People looking at their homes as investments is the main reason of the economic collapse of 2008. Buying a home as an investment is like buying records as an investment. (I assume that most of you can understand that analogy) Sure, there are some that make money selling/flipping records, but for the most part people just sink more and more money into it. Some people do it because they enjoy the experience and the music, and some do it for some pay day at the end. I enjoy home ownership. I have bought a home, sold that home, and bought another home. Another couple points to the upkeep/repairs that wasn't mentioned is taxes. Taxes make it so that you never really "own" your home even if you do not have a loan on the home anymore. In some states this isn't a big deal, in others it is a huge deal. So you may think that you are in your forever home only to not be able to afford the taxes in retirement. The second thing not mentioned is the extra costs that you will spend on your house just because you OWN it. My wife and I spend over $1k a year in landscaping/gardening/flowers on our home that we would not spend if we were renting. Also most people take pride in their home and spend a lot of time and money making it look nice, whereas if you rent then you will not be so inclined to do so. The rule of thumb like others have mentioned that if you are not planning on staying in the home for at least 5 years, then you are better renting. Definitely do not plan on making money on your home purchase. If you do so, then great, but don't plan on it. In my situation we bought a small home in spring 2007 right before the housing market took a nose dive. The home was completely remodeled before we bought it, we took excellent care of it and fixed it up a bit and sold it in better condition than when we bought it. We ended up losing money on it when we sold it. Since it was a small house we didn't lose that much money on it and having lived in it for almost 6 years we came out ahead compared to renting. However, since we lost money (approx 5% compared to 2008) on our small house (800sq-ft) in a down market we were able to buy our much bigger/nicer (3500sq-ft) house in the same area for a much bigger bargain (approx 25% compared to 2008) due to that small homes retain their value better in a down market. So in a way you are curbing the housing market when you buy. Like others said, figure out what you can really afford and still have money leftover so that you are not house poor. Go shop for loans, and then with that budget start looking in neighborhoods that you are interested in. I prefer and suggest that you look at neighborhoods first and then at homes second and not the other way around. I also second having a good inspector. Ours was provided by our agent and he was fine, but in hindsight, I don't know if he is working harder for your agent to not find problems than he is working for you to find problems. For the most part he found a LOT of stuff. However, there were items that were not done to code that we didn't know were not to code and he didn't even mention. I also asked him about a lot of stuff and he just said "that is not in my scope". Also realtors, very interesting. I really liked ours and would recommend her, but still.
