  1. I have several copies of this, zippers intact, if you're interested.
  2. I think Change is the best D-Plan record, so I'm stoked for that one to come out some day. It's just pure genius song writing. I'm on the record about this enough. I defer to the gentleman from Arkansas.
  3. Again, if it was medical care or water we're talking about I'd be right there with you. But you don't need records. Still, it's everyone's right to complain about prices, and this is a record collecting forum so it's silly of me to care that you think it's expensive. I will say this though: there's a reason you don't find high-quality audiophile pressings of great jazz records on pink and blue splatter vinyl. Aside from being remarkably silly and pointless to the music contained therein, black vinyl just sounds better. I know people will say with all sorts of authority that this is not true. I'm here to tell you, with no authority by my own 36 years of experience to back me up, that 180 gram black virgin vinyl (assuming proper recording, mastering, pressing, etc.) sounds noticeably better than color vinyl in any of its myriad forms. When black is an option, I chose black, even if it's the most common color.
  4. Into Another -- "Ignaurus." Represent.
  5. I think Sonic Youth is generally accepted as the essence of post rock.
  6. So $12.50 for a single LP seems like a lot? This album is a classic. Sell some Beanie Babies and shut up.

  8. Try the area between central Kansas and eastern Colorado. Badump bum
  9. I once asked a very well known record label owner and collector if he had a particular ANB record. His response was "God no, I like music."
  10. I am not a fan of hip hop really at all, but this was a great interview. He explains, in interesting and well-thought out terms, why he believes rappers tend to grab they dicks. He also explains the message behind "99 Problems." Do yourself a favor and check it out. http://www.npr.org/2010/11/15/131334322/the-fresh-air-interview-jay-z-decoded
  11. Good for you and your girl! It's a lot of work, but you'd have to be retarded not to know that. It's also pretty fun. Go to lots of shows now. Unless you are a piece of shit father that part of your life is mostly over for a long time.
  12. I love this album. And I already own it, of course. Three new songs? I'd probably do that. I, too, like the fact that black is the rarest color. That's the way it should always be. Although then all the douchebags would buy up all the black vinyl. Nevermind.
  13. Apparently it's about the availability of the Beatles catalog. I think it's funny that I've had full access to their entire catalog for 36 years now and this is somehow "important" to people. If you're a Beatles fan and you've been waiting for this announcement to listen to all your favorite songs .... do I even need to finish?
  14. In blind tests most people choose the sound of a high-quality cassette over both CDs and records.
  15. I can't believe we're comparing Hot Water Music or whatever to Cave In (sorry had to get a dig in). In any case, I'm willing to bet that if HH felt the need to dignify your accusations with a response they could easily explain the cost. On the other hand, this is America, not the USSR. HH is under no obligation to barely break even on a Cave In record. And lets face it: Cave In is not Hot Water Music or whatever. They made one of the most original, compelling records of the past ten 20 years. Even their bad stuff is pretty awesome.
  16. Yep, that's the dude. Thanks man. Good looking out.
  17. I suspected as much. When I get stuff from Conspiracy it's not cheap at all.
  18. But I got mine and it's awesome. Thanks for putting this together whoever it was that put it together. O
  19. Okay, that's fine. But why the hell they provide so ridiculous shipping prices? 17,70$ is the cheapest option for me. I don't know, I've never lived in Hungary so I don't know what's normal. But, I will add that the cheaper shipping options to Europe, especially Eastern Europe, never seem to pan out well. Everything I've ordered from anywhere in Europe I pay out the nose for shipping, and the few times I haven't had to pay much my records were damaged. I think maybe HH doesn't want to deal with all the BS surrounding damaged records, especially when they are talking about very small numbers of items that sell out quickly. They just don't have a bunch of extra records laying around to replace stuff that gets smashed up by European mail handlers who are notoriously inept. Just a theory, but I bet there's some truth to it.
  20. I was bullied constantly -- for a while. But I was a white kid in a largely black school and neighborhood, so most of the people I kicked it with after school were black. The bullying stopped pretty quickly when people began to realize that some of my best friends were straight up thugs (I was not a thug by any stretch). It was like a 180 degree turn between elementary school and junior high. I did get bullied pretty badly by a gang from another town for a while. They'd just find me alone and beat the shit out of me. My solution was to not be alone and to carry a knife all the time. I don't recommend it to anyone, but I always figured it would help me get away and was less dangerous than a gun. Those were pretty easily available where I lived too but I just couldn't imaging shooting someone, even though that sort of thing happened a lot. To me it always seemed so over the top crazy to shoot someone.
  21. My download code never worked so I've still yet to hear this record since my record player has been out of commission for a while.
  22. Yeah, I'm a sucker. And HH are real rip off artists. I'm sure that's what Cave In and Hydra Head spend all their time doing, figuring out ways to rip off their fans. And my point is simple: if you don't like paying for records just keep stealing music like every other asshole and shut up about it. Every other thread becomes a tirade about the cost of vinyl. It's expensive. Get over it. Believe me, I know what it's like to not have a lot of money. But perhaps not buying every variant of one record would allow a person to get a few other records in their collection. But by all means do as you please. I just wish there weren't so many threads shitting on the few labels that put out quality vinyl releases.
